  1. I worry about this too! I love to entertain and cook. But not only that but one big social thing to do with my friends is dinner and drinks! I'd hate that I think that this will completly change! I have found hope by reading some "bandsters" blogs that I will learn what I can and can't do...but that I can still go out and enjoy..just not over-enjoy! I hope this is the case for me!
  2. In thinking, planning, talking...were you worried about failure? Worried that this too will not work for you? I know this is a tool and I feel fairly confident that I can make the changes and use it to my benefit. But I still have the underlying worry that this too shall fail. Almost nothing could talk me out of this procedure. I find myself thinking about it all the time. Not with worry about the actual surgery but with how I am going to look, and feel, and be after. I am sure that most of you have had the same thought processes so I guess it is normal. But what got you through? Man, is it fantastic to have this site for support.
  3. Just curious who's out there!
  4. I use the same $9.99 hand blender to make Soups all the time (and froth milk for a latte) and it works well! p.s. I had a magic bullet. Got it as a wedding gift. I am a kitchen gadget fan but I did not like it very much at all! I gave it away as i never used it!
  5. I've done the seminar and my first appointment and now i have an appointment with the RN's and Dr's on the 30th of this month! So I am pretty close to where you are! I am also worried because I am borderline...I feel like I will get through but it is really my only concern! I've done loads of research and I am ready for this journey! I'm 31, no kids, and really excited about actually being in control for more then 4-5 months at a time! I am done with working so hard, seeing results, and then failing again!! Here's to us!
  6. tastes more sour cream-y to me. I use it a lot for dips and for making items that call for sour cream. Like my tomato and onion salad!
  7. YAY! Finally the delay is over! Good luck!
  8. Betsy...don't you love the Ken's Asian light salad dressing?! It has been a staple in my house for years now! I have a lot of the same items that Betsy has in her fridge. Of course plenty of different things too because I am WAY pre surgery. However type of food is not really my issue as I eat pretty well. It is the quantity for me!
  9. Best of luck to you! Hopefully we are all in this together!
  10. Welcome, I am new too! Best of luck on this new journey! I have been to one siminar and I am going to my orientation on Wednesday!! :bolt:
  11. Thanks so much for posting this!
  12. I am just going to my first appointment on Wednesday but I also have chosen to keep this as quiet as possible. I've told my mom, dad, sister, Husband and my longest friend. My biggest reason for not telling at this point is I am worried that something will happen along the way and I won't follow through. I am fully for the process and I am ready for the change but what if I am not accepted for what ever reason! I don't want to have to go back and explain it to all these people. Number 2: I'll just have to wait and see what I do in the future. Might be nice to hear the compliments when i lose the weight and not go into detail. But part of me might want to be an advocate. Only time will tell!
  13. none from me...but it looks like we will be having a similar time line! :smile2: :bolt:
  14. Good luck to you too! My first appointment is Wednesday!
  15. Funny you posted this, I was just talking to my husband about a goal today! I got married three years ago and I was also probably my heaviest. One of my many goals would be to have my dress RE-fitted and different wedding pictures taken! Plus I want to go back packing with my husband..I do it now but I hate thinking about going long distances!
  16. Thanks Chrissy and Monica! Chrissy, I am from NC too... Way over in western NC!
  17. hiya all, my name is Amanda and I have been viewing your website and reading your posts for a few months! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Reading everything you've posted~The Good and The Bad~has made it much easier in making a very important choice in my life. I have been to the seminar, and on wednesday I have my first consult and I am thrilled to be on this journey. I'm like most..have done loads of diets. WITH success but always hit a plateau and dropped off and gained back. I am ready! So now it is time to hurry up and wait! I'll have lots of questions...so thanks in advance!:smile2:
