  1. Welcome NYsLegend!! Sept 8th?? You're getting close!! Are you ready?? Good luck to you and keep us posted!
  2. Oh, I'm glad to hear it wasn't uncomfortable.. I wish I could help you with your question, but I'm not banded yet - just went for my informational seminar this evening.. I'm here soaking up ALL the information I can!!
  3. Hey Cali Sal! Welcome!! It sounds like a LONG journey - so, let's fasten our seatbelts and keep our arms inside until the ride comes to a stop!! I am nervous and anxious at the same time.. Doubting and sure.. Up and down!! hahaha - but it sounds like lots of folks are like that! I look forward to talking again!!
  4. Hi Saraterre! I am going to my Seminar this afternoon, and I feel EXACTLY the same way you to!! I'm anxious to hear your throughts and experience with the Seminar - maybe we can compare notes!! Talk to you Soon!
  5. Hi Banded!! Welcome to our little group!! I hope you're feeling alright and that things are beginning to go smoothly for you! Keep us posted, please?
  6. I am beginning my journey - first seminar tomorrow! - and would like to know if there is anyone here who was banded at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania by Dr. Ali. Any thoughts? Recommendations? Would you refer someone to Dr. Ali and Hamot? Thank you for this site and for all your help!
  7. Thank you everyone for your suggestions!! I have my first seminar tomorrow, and all those questions that I've been thinking about are all getting mushed up! Thank you for helping me sort them out!
  8. Hey Vicksmail! I am in the "thinking about it" stage, too! I have my first seminar tomorrow so I'm really excited to jump to that next level!! Hey, if those "armchair exercises" peel off 110 pounds - let me know!! Nice to meet you, Vicksmail!
  9. Wonderful idea!! Here's mine! The Rest Of My Life
  10. Howdy to you too, Neighbor!!
  11. Yes, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and will have to use "The Thing".. They're not "forcing" me, but have prescribed it to help eleviate my sleep apnea and allow me to get a better night's sleep - which is far healthier than I am getting now... But, rather than get all disappointed and upset about it, I am using this as the "inspiration" that I need to get the weight off - hopefully through Lap Band. So, I am trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel rather than dwell on the darkness of the tunnel itself!
  12. Oh Great, Dar.. Now I have ACNE to look forward to, too??? Does the excitement ever END??
  13. Oh yes, The Hubs DESERVE the good laugh at seeing us in "full face mode"!! Kind of a reward for having to sleep with us! Not sure about you but having little puffs of air being blown up my nostrils freaked me out!! I actually found myself holding my breath when it puffed me!
  14. And you have me howling here!! "Three blocks away"!! hahahahaha!! Sounds like BOTH our husband's deserve the "Good Chap" award for sleeping with US!! I can't believe you took a picture!! BRAVE Woman!! I can see my warped family putting that on YouTube or something!! hahahahahahaha!! That is tooooo funny!! "Mrs. Hannibal"
  15. Ohhhh Jess, I'm sorry it was so awful for you. Hopefully the Dr will be able to work with you on this one. I didn't care for the nasal thing - I felt like I couldn't catch my breath. I slept very well with the face thing - even though I looked like Hannibal Lector!! I hope they do take into consideration that we don't always sleep as we do during the test. I took awhile longer to fall asleep with the aparatus on. And, don't normally wake up at 6am! So, we shall see! Good luck to you!! ~Lisa
  16. You're not kidding "it's not the most flattering aparatus"! hahaha!! My husband stayed with me last night until after they "hooked me up"... I asked him, "Hey Baby, wanna fool around??" We had a good laugh over that one!! Me in my face mask.... oh jeeeez, that's a horrible looking thing!! I felt like I should have been playing the role of Hannibal Lector!
  17. Tia, Well, I survived the second "titration" test.. It wasn't bad. Once I fell asleep - which took longer with that thing on my face - I stayed asleep. I didn't like the nose thingy, it made me feel as though I couldn't catch my breath:thumbdown: so I opted for the face thing. I am told that I am going to need C-CRAP, so now I have more ammunition to get this weight off!! I hope all's well with YOU!! ~Lisa
  18. Hey Sooz! I kinda wish I would have had both together, too. But.. it is what it is.. Tonight's the night for the second one. And, I'm with YOU that I hope that I don't need this C-CRAP stuff too long once I start losing weight. We'll BOTH be keeping our fingers crossed!! ~Lisa
  19. Hey Nuk! 22lbs! Good for you! That's 22lbs that I've still got!! Best wishes on your visit to the Dr on Monday - will be thinking about you!! ~Lisa
  20. Hey Kelly! Good for YOU with all that prep work!! Now you'll be able to take some "Kelly time", read the books you bought and just heal nicely!! You're getting close - almost there, actually! I'll be thinking about you and saying a prayer that all goes well! I have my second sleep study tonight..... We gotta do what we gotta do!! And as for the soda - I've become completely addicted to Pellegrino - kinda like Perrier. It's Water with the BUBBLES!! I usually drink it cold, straight up, with a twist! Keep us posted!! ~Lisa
  21. Wow! You're moving along nicely!! Good for you! Can't wait for updates.. I love this site - everyone here is really encouraging and helpful! Today is one of those "questioning days" - I vented on my blog earlier.. So, I just made a cuppa joe, and came here to read success stories and to be uplifted! So far, it has worked! Talk to you soon!! ~Lisa
  22. Hey Suziek! I guess I won't need to worry about carbonated drinks! That's one of the things that I can live without - and won't miss if I "leave it alone"! But... Ice Cream, on the other hand.. That's gonna be a tough one!! I'm already trying to limit my ice cream intake - summer months are the hardest! But, as you say, the scales aren't going up - and for now, that's a GOOD thing!! Talk to you soon!!
  23. Hello to You! Congratulations and best wishes on August 5!!! :cursing: Yeah to YOU! I will be anxious to hear about your experiences! I'm just starting out in the process, and trying to answer sooo many questions... I hope to hear from you! ~Lisa
  24. Thank you all for the "welcomes"! Have a GREAT day, and Christ's peace to ALL! ~Lisa:smile2:
