  1. So when you had your second fill, did it always feel too tight or did that go away? My first fil is Friday. My appetite has picked up and it's making me nervous I really hope the fill helps out quickly.
  2. Looks like we're in the same boat. I can't wait to get banded Friday. I'm really hoping to feel different because my appetite seems to be picking up
  3. Oh, so sorry to hear that. I was banded Dec 29 but my surgeon pushed my first fill out until this Friday. He said I wasn't completely healed to have it done within one month. I've visited "The Fill" forum and see that the delay happens to other people, too. A year down the road when we're sexy skinny, this will be a distant memory
  4. Yep, all of that is normal. I still don't have regular bowel movements (I'm about 5 weeks post-op). I don't know your nationality; I'm Black and my scars are healed but darker than the rest of my skin. I didn't think my port scar was ever going to look normal, but I'm sure the line will fade and look great later. I bought Vitamin E and put it on my scars daily (be sure to wait until they're closed). I think it took 3 -4 weeks for them to heal. Good luck!
  5. I went through this. After 3 - 4 weeks, I started feeling normal again. I'm still trying to get back into my pre-surgery routine.
  6. Sarah, have you spoken to the psychologist who you initially met with? Mine told me I could always call or come see him. He also offers support classes (see if yours does too). Just be sure to reach out to someone who can help (don't suffer alone).
  7. Your honesty is appreciated. You're right, there are a lot of us who are still struggling with old eating habits that didn't disappate just because we got banded. It takes a lot to be honest because so many people here want to pretend they're perfect and criticize others instead of being supportive. I joined LBT because I knew I couldn't do this alone. I need help, ideas and warnings from others. Thanks for your post!
  8. I always wondered what "sliders" were. Thanks. re: slime. Is the food stuck in your esophagus or your band? I haven't experienced this, but I think I had a little stuck episode today. It was only for about 20 seconds, but it got my attention. My meat was too dry and I think the bite was too big.
  9. Congrats. I hope I get to what mine says (180...so not the truth). lol
  10. Thank you for sharing your story. The most weight I've ever lost was 36 pounds on WW. I hit a plateau. But I was in a size 12 and happy, so I just maintained...until I moved and gained 50 pounds. I thought for sure after maintaining that loss for 2 1/2 years that there was no way I could gain it back. So lately I've rationalized it by saying, well, it was only 36 pounds. But I needed to read your post. It doesn't matter how many pounds it is. If you quit trying, you will gain the weight back. (big sigh) but good reminder... Welcome back and good luck!
  11. Congratulations for getting back on track. I said when I hit Onderland I'm going to take a picture of the scale. LOL.
  12. Mine is directly where the port is. It's aggravating, but not the end of the world. If I sit still too long, I do feel pain sometimes when I stand. I imagine that will get better, too. It's hard reading other people's post and they're practically running marathons now. LOL. I know, I know...be patient; every one's body is different.
  13. I still feel pain around my port when I bend over. Does anyone else feel this? Before my port I was able to bend over and do anything. Now when I bend over on the left hand side (to put on shoes or lotion) it hurts. I have to find another angle to do what I need. Just curious if I'm the only one.
  14. At my post op appt Doc said I was still swollen. He wanted me to wait 8 weeks from date of surgery for a fill. His nurse accidentally scheduled me 6 weeks out. Should I say something??
  15. Becki, I had a lot if breast discomfort after my surgery. I don't typically have that before my cycle starts. It was strange and hurt. But after my period started, it went away. I hope that doesn't happen again.
  16. That's awesome. I can't wait to cross my legs and slide under my desk. It might be 30 pounds away, but I'm still looking forward to it. Congrats to you!
  17. My hunger came back 3 weeks post op. I wasn't prepared for it ( after not experiencing it for a couple if weeks ). But it makes me plan my meals so that I can make wise choices.
  18. 1. I didn't over eat at dinner ( even though it was so good) 2 I worked out today (first time since surgery) 3. And when I put on my workout shorts, they slid on AND there wasn't any thigh fat poking out around the seam! OMG...Yeah. I just had to share.
  19. I was banded Dec 29. I noticed that over the last week I've started experiencing hunger, too. I don't have my first fill until Feb 11. I've only eaten toasted bread. My doctor said to wait until I was on stage 4 to eat any other bread. I lost 19 pounds and then went I was moved to stage 3 I gained 5 pounds. I've lost 3 pounds over the last week. I'm struggling to keep what I've lost off. I hope I can feel some restriction after my first fill. Let's keep in touch.
  20. Keia replied to a post in a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I liked it. I felt a little guilty that they were doing it without surgery, but...I got over it. Everyone has to make their own path.
  21. That is awesome! Congratulations, what a great transformation.
  22. I didn't have a pre-op diet either. But my surgeon instructed me not to eat heavy the day before the surgery. So I just watched my calorie intake and relaxed. Good luck!
  23. I don't have my first fill until Feb 11. So I'm stuck on stage 3 food until then. Whenever I'm free and clear, my first meal will be sushi. I miss it so much. I forgot that I wasn't supposed to eat Pasta on stage 2. While in the mushy stage I ate blended wheat spaghetti and chicken noodle Soup. Fortunately I didn't have a problem with either. So hopefully rice will be ok, too.
