30 days out - port still hurts when...
I still feel pain around my port when I bend over. Does anyone else feel this? Before my port I was able to bend over and do anything. Now when I bend over on the left hand side (to put on shoes or lotion) it hurts. I have to find another angle to do what I need. Just curious if I'm the only one.

How long after surgery for first fill???
At my post op appt Doc said I was still swollen. He wanted me to wait 8 weeks from date of surgery for a fill. His nurse accidentally scheduled me 6 weeks out. Should I say something??

Going a little crazy...multiple symptoms, don't know who to call
Becki, I had a lot if breast discomfort after my surgery. I don't typically have that before my cycle starts. It was strange and hurt. But after my period started, it went away. I hope that doesn't happen again.

NSV
That's awesome. I can't wait to cross my legs and slide under my desk. It might be 30 pounds away, but I'm still looking forward to it. Congrats to you!

when did your appetite come back?
My hunger came back 3 weeks post op. I wasn't prepared for it ( after not experiencing it for a couple if weeks ). But it makes me plan my meals so that I can make wise choices.

Major NSV's today!
1. I didn't over eat at dinner ( even though it was so good) 2 I worked out today (first time since surgery) 3. And when I put on my workout shorts, they slid on AND there wasn't any thigh fat poking out around the seam! OMG...Yeah. I just had to share.

4 weeks out ~ starting to get an appetite.
I was banded Dec 29. I noticed that over the last week I've started experiencing hunger, too. I don't have my first fill until Feb 11. I've only eaten toasted bread. My doctor said to wait until I was on stage 4 to eat any other bread. I lost 19 pounds and then went I was moved to stage 3 I gained 5 pounds. I've lost 3 pounds over the last week. I'm struggling to keep what I've lost off. I hope I can feel some restriction after my first fill. Let's keep in touch.

Heavy
I liked it. I felt a little guilty that they were doing it without surgery, but...I got over it. Everyone has to make their own path.

One year out movie I made...
That is awesome! Congratulations, what a great transformation.

Is this stupid...?
I didn't have a pre-op diet either. But my surgeon instructed me not to eat heavy the day before the surgery. So I just watched my calorie intake and relaxed. Good luck!

Does Sashimi count as soft food
I don't have my first fill until Feb 11. So I'm stuck on stage 3 food until then. Whenever I'm free and clear, my first meal will be sushi. I miss it so much. I forgot that I wasn't supposed to eat Pasta on stage 2. While in the mushy stage I ate blended wheat spaghetti and chicken noodle Soup. Fortunately I didn't have a problem with either. So hopefully rice will be ok, too.

4 weeks post op today and so happy about progress!
Stay encouraged. I was banded 9 days after you. I lost 19 pounds then added 5 back when I moved to stage 3 of the diet. We're on this journey together~

Great idea. I like the flavor of Coke, too.

I think I ate too fast
Today is my first day back at work. I only ate what I brought (one chicken leg and 1/4 sweet potato) but my shoulders are killing me. I know I didn't over eat...maybe I ate too fast. Argh and ouch! I took a Gas x but nothing happened. So I don't think it's gas. (sigh)

I made the news with my lap band story! Grammy nominated singer Jordin Sparks took me on a shopping spree!
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

I think my port moved
Ok, thanks. It probably was my fat moving around after wearing the girdle.

I think my port moved
Yesterday was my first full day out. (I am 19 days post op) I wore a girdle and it was comfortable; I was in it for about 11 hours. This morning my port site was tender. I really think my port has moved over some. Is this strange or typical?

Fish oil...
What is the fish oil supposed to do for you?

"That Full Feeling!?!?"
When I over eat I have shoulder pain and hiccups. It's a slow process to teach yourself to listen to your body and not your eyes. I don't get my first fill until Feb 11 so I hope I can keep everything in check and not gain any weight back.

Brownies!! Yikes!!
To add your code, go to your profile signature and "edit". Paste the code there. Do the same thing every time you want to update your weight.

I am banded!!!
I alternated Gas X and Bean-O. Walk a lot and you can even try laying your back. It's horrible, most of us have been there. Oh, and drink Water, too.

Brownies!! Yikes!!
You replace the oil with applesauce. Use the exact same amount (1/4 cup oil equals 1/4 cup applesauce). I learned that tip from Weight Watchers. They taste fine but they don't rise as high. I did the switch on a guy that I was dating a couple of years ago. He said they taste fine but they look different. I made it about 5 hours before I caved and told him what was different. But I had the weight problem, not him. So he agreed to the compromise. I don't see anything wrong with us enjoying treats. No one can expect to NEVER eat a treat for rest of our lives. But, I agree, you can't bring trigger foods in the house. I always had trigger foods in the house because I thought I was being economical. It's cheaper to buy the larger bag vs. an individual serving. But in the end (literally) it wasn't economical at all. I take joy in discovering my bad habits and finding a healthy alternative. We can do this!

Salad
According to my notes, you can't have fresh fruit and veggies until you're on the last stage. I suggest you take some Bean-O with you (better safe than sorry).
