loridee11 got a reaction from Sammi_Katt in Almond Flour
You may have discovered this already, but I just discovered Almond Flour (finely ground almonds). I made a delicious air fried chicken piccata with that as a crust and it was delicious and low carb. It also satisfied a craving for something crunchy breaded so I thought I'd share.

Agreed. My 3 week stall lasted 3 weeks, from about week 2.5 to about week 5.5. I was SO frustrated. But it broke and I've been losing since. At that time I went from weighing daily to weighing weekly. Doesn't change the numbers but at least I could not focus on them most of the week and just focus on eating my plan and walking.

I was thinking this morning. With the current Shelter in Place requirements, working from home, and having to cook most of my meals - pre surgery I would have definitely gained weight. I would have eaten my feelings and stressed, and I probably wouldn't have made it a point to walk everyday. With this surgery I am losing weight. It's not easy. I am fighting head hunger every day. And yes, I'm still stressed, but walking is not only good physically, it's good mentally - getting fresh air and sunshine.
Wishing everyone health and happiness. Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

I will occasionally have turkey bacon for either breakfast or dinner. (I never liked regular bacon --too fatty). I overcook it slightly so I still get a crunch. It isn't great on Protein so wouldn't work everyday or as a stand alone, but may be an option to rotate.

loridee11 got a reaction from CammyC in 3 months post op
I am almost 3 months post RNY (Tuesday will be the official 3 month day). Today I am feeling really good about where I am. I am down 41.8 lbs since surgery (83.4 since starting). In addition I have a few great NSVs:
Lost over 25" total (including 5" off my waist and 4.5" off my hips) My arthritis pain in my knees is virtually gone I am walking 2 miles a day with ease Almost all my clothes are too big. A bunch I've had to pull to donate because they simply aren't wearable, and the rest are getting close. When we are out of social isolation I'm going to need to do some shopping before going back to the office. In addition, I had my 3 month group appointment last week and was released to drink caffeinated coffee again (just need to ensure I don't add a lot of high calorie items). SO Excited.
I hope everyone else is doing well in their journey and staying positive during this trying time!

Congratulations! Your loss so far is amazing and I'm so glad you are feeling better. I'm just past the 3 months myself and am down 43 lbs since surgery (I was down >40 before surgery) and agree, I feel so much better.

loridee11 got a reaction from biginjapan in Anxiety with the scale
I cleaned my closet out last weekend I would say about half got pulled out to go to charity. Most of the rest are still too big, but look OK so I kept them for now. I have started to question if I'll get to wear my existing work clothes again -- I'm in CA and working from home for the forseeable future. It's entirely possible when that lifts up none of them will fit. AND I'll be good with that

loridee11 got a reaction from Krimsonbutterflies in Anxiety with the scale
Is anyone else afraid/anxious of the scale? I'm almost 3 months post-op and my weight loss has been slower than I would like but not bad. However, I had a crazy long stall and I've had weeks where I felt like I did really well where I've lost less than a pound. I haven't had any really big weeks except for the first one.
For the last couple of weeks I'm getting anxiety before my weight in. I already dropped to weekly from daily to try to help.
Tomorrow is my weekly weight in day and I'm already feeling anxious even thought I've been within my macro goals each day (high end for Protein, low for carbs and fat) and been within my calories. I've also been upping my walking - both pace and distance. I feel like clothes are fitting looser but I'm STILL anxious. I've thought about just not weighing, but that makes me more nervous since when I was gaining weight I'd skip the scale for long periods and of course it would show a huge jump when I finally got back on.
Any thoughts from anyone whose experienced this?

Hi. I'm about 11 weeks out. At 5 weeks I was back to work but it was pretty common to fall asleep on the couch after work/before bed. It does get better. I want to say the last 2 - 3 weeks I've had a lot more energy (even more than pre-surgery).

I have my 3 month follow up this coming Wednesday. They do a group session with the Internist and a dietician. I've been waiting for them to cancel, but instead I just got an email they've moved it online/video conference which is great.

    Thanks all for answering.
My weigh in today was actually really good - my best since week 1. It seems the anxiety isn't really related to the number, it's the "what if" from a life time of dieting and failing and feeling like the scale didn't reflect my effort. Hopefully this is something that will go down as I continue to stay on track and make progress with this new tool.
I do also take measurements and pictures, but only 1 time per month at the end of the month. I'll look into a scale that does body fat as well.
