  2. I forgot the one for Correlle plates with the models strutting down the runway. Then the announcer says ...."we greased the runway" and this skinny, model lands on her butt....cracks me up everytime. oh I am a wicked wicked girl! ...cat :decision: out of my mind right now...please leave a message

  5. hmmmm....I had to think about this one and I have to say my list is really different.... 6. You don't have to be gay to find this distrubing, only human. People like this need someone to blame for being different. A few years ago there were people who used the same victims are guilty when a woman was raped. Before that it was interracial marriage, before that blacks not "knowing thier place"....the hate just goes on. Now homosexuals can't even have peace in thier own homes. Aids is the "gay plague" and gay marriage is going to bring the end of the world. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is when those I know and love "come out" to me and then expect ME to shun them. They are always shocked that I just don't care. It is only fair though, they didn't kick me out of thier lives for being....GASP....straight....and....OH GOD...FAT out of my mind now...please leave a message....cat
  7. This one just makes me want to shoot the TV. I'm just so broken hearted she just couldn't risk being seen in her chubby size 10....SCREAM! I'm feeling much better now...cat
  8. I've been reading this thread and I think it is hitting a few of my hot buttons because I seem to be getting angry. So silly I know but I'll put in my two cents. I think size acceptance has very little to do with ourselves and more to do with those outside. In that way I think People of size is the same as People of color. We know we are fat, we know there are concequences and we may be doing our darnedest to find an answer. For others, even perfect strangers, to say to us...you are fat that is disgusting....or you are fat, do you know that can cause health problems, that is an insult to our intelligence. For them to think that they do this "for our own good" or "it will help put us on the right track" is the height of bigotry. For them I can only equate this with the n-word. It is the same as people who look at me and say "oh, I know how you feel, I really need to diet" and they are MAYBE a size 8. As far as the diet and exercise people who think that we have lived in a cave and maybe didn't know this pearl of wisdom, how do they know we haven't been doing just that for a year and still have one or two years to go to meet our goal weight. Gee, guess I was a bit angry... What I'm really trying to say is if "people of size" makes people stop and think before they open thier mouths and hurt another human being with thier bigotry...I'm all for it. hugs...cat
  9. So glad you like the blanket! I had just gotten one for me when I remembered that you said anything warm. Well it was certainly warm. Here's hoping you have a safe, happy, warm and toasty new year. hugs...cat
  10. THanks for clearing up the the pannus thingy for me. ik ik ik I don't want to think about mine today....grin ...cat:eek:
  11. I love Janet Evanovich. Her Stephenie Plum series is funny, sexy and mysterious and roudy all at the same time. Nothing too graphic or raw. Her charactors are just a hoot. The grandmother alone is worth the read. hugs...cat
  12. Okay, I will start by saying I'm a 48 year old, educated and for the most part, demure woman....but I think one of my favorite NSV's will be .... when a man bumps into me because he is trying to cop a feel, not just because my ass is in his airspace.... ....sigh....I am but weak flesh.... :faint: ...cat
  13. okay, I'm lost....what's a roper? ....cat
  14. Mine went out today to the state of blue skies and rocky mountain highs. Sorry for the delay, hope it is worth the wait! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: hugs...cat:o
  15. Thank you Robin!!! Just got my secret santa. Loved it all! I think Robin must have had a link to my mind. Pear berry bath set with body spray, lotion, shower gel and bubble bath (one of my NSV's will be being able to take a bubble bath again). Also some coffee cake candles...smell so yummy and a great little machine for relaxing sounds. I use one of these to help me sleep at home but it is such a pain to take when I travel. This will be such a help on those trips. And it has WIND CHIMES....my favorite! thanks you again Robin! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  16. I made the decision to not tell anyone because of stuff like this. So far only two people know I'm planning on doing this and NONE of my family except mom who lives with me. That group in particular would make me CRAZY. I had one of them tell me about this great new drug that is just like gastric bipass. Just down a pill and water and instant full for 6 hours at a time....yeah right.... best one I've heard about lap band was "oh yeah, I've heard of that....they never work." ::silent scream::
  17. Hi Everybody, I'm Cat804....hate to be boring, but Cat is short for Cathy and that is short for nothing since my parents didn't go for the more formal names of Cathrine or Cathryn. and...my birthday is 8/4... hugs...cat:biggrin1:
  18. thanks for the information. I think he is the one who gave the seminar I went to. I'm getting my paperwork together now to send in. can't wait! hugs...cat
  19. I finally found a clinic that will do my surgery. I went to the seminar last night and asked "the question" about cut off weight for lap band and the doctor looked at me like I was nuts. Said each case was indiviual and he had only one patient who couldn't have the lap band because of his size and his bmi was 75. I'm jazzed! So today I went to my GP and we talked about all of it again. He is going to rush my paperwork to the clinic and even help me out by going ahead and scheduling me a stress test for next week. I know it will take a while to get everything okayed...but I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh, and all this time spent here on LBT must help. I had also lost 7 lbs in less than a month. hugs to you all...cat :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  20. I just went to my first seminar tonight and I was ready to run upstairs and into the surgery unit. :heh: Very nice people and really up on the lap band. Lots of experience and good success. Anyway, I have the choice of three doctors and I wondered if anyone knew them and could give me a reference. They are: Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Larson, Jorge Rodriguez, any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks...cat
  21. I live in a small town in southern Indiana so there isn't much available here in terms of selection. We do have a great farmers market here from May until October and I shop there for most of my produce during the season. We also have a large Amish community in our area and they grow organicly as well. In winter I just do the best I can. I agree with the others. It is more to me about supporting local farmers and using sustainable and earth friendly choices. A local community development group I belong to is now working on opening a food co op this year. Our emphasis will be on supporting the local farmers and organic food. hugs...cat
