  1. Thanks Meredith, I found some of the old posts on here and I checked out the Fitbit site. I exercise quite a bit but I'm a numbers person and I'm really excited about getting myself one. I like to plan little rewards for myself so I'll get one for myself when I hit either -85 or -90 depending on how much patience I have. LOL!!! Your comment about my ticker was cute, thanks for noticing! I call my band daisy so I thought it was very appropriate.
  2. I had never heard of a fitbit until now? Do you really like it? Is it worth it?
  3. It is normal to have a delayed reaction to a fill, up to 2 weeks! Crazy isn't it? It doesn't make much sense but it happens. I had a fill last week too and the restriction took 6 days to kick in. Don't get to tight though!
  4. As long as the scale is moving in the right direction the band is doing its job. Remember to work your band and it will work for you!!! Just think where you will be 6 months from now! Have faith and work hard on the new you!
  5. I'm a year and a half since I got banded and I still get it once in a while. It was worse at first but it does get better. Hang in there. I took lots of Gas X at the beginning.
  6. I eat to relax or unwind. I was eating when I wasn't even hungry. I recently read that a way to break this cycle you need to ask yourself two things before you eat. Are you hungry? (has it been 4 hrs since you ate last) and Are you depressed or anxious? I've been journalling these before everything I eat to be more mindfull. I find the evenings the worst so I hop on the treadmill or scrapbook to fill the time with something that is not compatible with eating. I really hope to break the cycle and put emotional eating behind me. Good luck with your journey!!
  7. Jogging is great but on the days you don't jog, walk for an hour. Try to get a 500 calorie deficit from exercise and you will lose for sure!
  8. Fantastic post and outlook! Very refreshing to read it! Thank you!
  9. I started Couch to 5k a few months after my surgery and I loved it! The program is constantly changing so it goes by really fast and the week by week progress makes you feel really proud of yourself. All you need is a pair of runners and a ipod to use as a timer. Even better download the C25K app. Hope you find something you love to do!!!
  10. I can't eat flatbreads but I do have wasa with peanut butter and tortilla's I can eat slowly but I can't eat the thick end if used in a wrap.
  11. I was shocked at how much pain I was in the first few days but after that I was just as shocked at how much better I felt everyday! Rest lots and take care of yourself!
  12. Also is you stay away from dual textured foods like cereal and soup and stick to more solid foods you will feel full longer!
  13. Just take small bites and chew it to death and you'll be okay.
  14. Also remember its not about how much you can eat with the band its about how little you can eat and be satisfied. Keep all meals and snacks to a cup of food or under!! Also exercise everyday!
  15. Last week I bought my first pair of jeans in a size 18, I thought I was buying them for inspiration as I knew I was getting close to fitting them. I brought them home, put them on and they fit!!! YAY!!!
  16. I had a very positive experiance with the SWLC for both my surgery and all the folow up. I still talk to the nurses often and the dietician. They are all very quick to respond and very encouraging. Best of luck!
  17. I am going throught the exact same thing! Glad to hear the scale finally moved for you. Hope mine does too!!
  18. I've been wondering the same thing.
  19. I have been on a plateau since just before summer started. Your post is very encouraging to me. I have been avoiding this site lately because I'm feeling very bad about it. Funny how yours was the first one I read. Thank you!
  20. Better safe than sorry .

  22. I have had problems since my banding in July and my clinic recommened milk of magnesia which works really well if you can get it down, it tastes terrible. Last week though I went on the 5 day pouch test and was thrilled to discover that the 2 days of fluids not only gave me increased restriction but I've been going everyday! Plus I've lost 4lbs and ended a long plateau!
  23. I totally understand where you are right now. I was banded in July 2010 and I just had a two month plateau. Its officially over though. I started a new workout plan that has helped change things up and the scale is finally moving again.
  24. Sorry I just found your post today, I've been sick. Well you are officially a bandster now! I was also banded in Mississauga this past July, I'm down 66lbs and I'm 200% happy with my decision! I hope your recovery goes quickly! Take care.
