I KNOw for sure i could be double that but my exercise routine feel completely off when school started (Sept).. . anyway, dont give up.... anything at all DOWN is way better than up!!!

Hi! good to hear from you. I thought my weight loss would be quicker per week, w/the band, too....I don't know why?? LOL! I'm just glad i'm loosing at all!! my weight loss slowed down tremendously in September, when the school year started back and my exercise routine abruptly ended!!! LOL! I started about 238... I'm about 210 now...May not sound like a lot to some people but it FEELS great to me! I'm down 3 dress sizes as well----> the inches are falling off quicker than the pounds! I'll take that too! :-)

5months after surgery for me. I finally got a scale but it is hard to read (it was only $4.98, what did i expect?) either way, i see that the scale is moving down (yippie!) i think i'm hovering around 210....trying so hard to reach "onerland"!!! maybe before Thanksgiving?? I know i would be much further along but i haven't exercized snce i've bn back to work!(Sept)!! so with that in mind, i'm still so happy that the scale is moving at all!!! "slow & steady DOWN" is fine by me!!!
  8. yup! healthier always costs more!!!
  9. I'm excited for you that you are under 200#s! that's my current goal!!! I am praying for you that your little band is in place and fine!!! "just a minor glitch from swallowing something wrong" is what i hope the Doc will say!!!

I am happy to report (drum roll please) not only can I fit into my gray pants (numbers 4 & 5 in my photo album) but I wore them to work today!!! They are even "a little loose" in the back!!! I will post the new photos soon. I've really missed all of you...this school year has taken off in a whirl-wind!! New school-New grade-Lots to get adjusted to!!! can't slow down for a minute or i will fall FAR behind!!! Please know I am still thinking about you guys and you're in my prayers!!! LOOSE WEIGHT------> GAIN HEALTH!
  11. I've been setting up my classroom for the last 2 weeks...early in to school, late out (12 hours a day).... I haven't been able to exercise at all!!!! by the time I get home and throw dinner together, I'm ready to pass out! and i do!!! I've gone no where near a scale!! At first i found myself slipping back into old eating habits, but then i stopped. back to packing my lunch i go!!! I haven't been logging or counting calories...I haven't exercised but I still have good restriction and i am still eating less than i was last year this time!!! Summer is always a better time for me to "exercise and eat right". I REALLY wish I could loose weight as fast as everyone else on this site...but I will take a little bit at a time....even one pound down a week is better than one pound UP per week! Maybe after the school yr settles in, I can get back to my treadmill??? this school is brand new for me and that's always the hardest classroom to set up (a new one!) .... THANK GOD FOR MY NEW JOB!!!!

wonderful!!! whoo-hoo for you! keep up the great work!!!!
  16. yup! that first bite is tricking!!! now i just keep telling myself i have to "wake up the band"!!!!! DOing the dishes/cleaning the kitchen while i eat is a WONDERFUL idea!!!!
  17. i dont know what CHN is but that seems like an odd clause. is it only your employer that they exclude from the surgery? strange. keep fighting - its worth it!

your will-power is amazing!!! keep up the good work!!
  19. i hope you arm feels better soon.... and yoga sounds relaxing!! i've never tried that! (i'm not very flexible!!) g'night!!!!!
  20. When i'm home, of course i can stand up and walk around and take forever to eat...but we go out a lot and this was becoming a problem!! so now (in a restaurant) i have to find an excuse to stand up and walk somewhere during my meal. otherwise, i get stuck! so when i get that feeling, usually after a bite or two, i either have to stop eating altogether or I walk to the restroom, or pretend to get something (buffet line), etc... It's kind of funny b/c i'll tell my husband, "I'm going to get you a napkin, fork, etc..." but he doesn't need any of these things!! LOL! I've also resorted to putting my food in a take-out container and finishing it in the car as we drive home. this way, i can take my time to eat (60+ minutes) but my husband doesn't have to sit there, bored to tears, waiting for me!! I'm glad to have restriction!!!
  21. Bad: I ate Coldstone Creamery Good: I ate the smallest size instead of the largest size! Bad: some of my food choices weren't "diet friendly" Good: I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have eaten before i was banded. Good: I did exercise. there was this beautiful smooth treadmill at the hotel !!! Bad: I only made it to the gym once (but that's better than 'not at all'!! right?) Good: I forced myself to get on the scale (at the gym) and despite all of my "vacation blunders" over the last month, I still managed to loose another 3 pounds!!! (23 total) Bad: had it not been for all of my "vacation blunders" over the last month, I'd probably be down 43 pounds!!! - oh well, at least i'm going down, no matter how slowly, instead of up!
  22. just wanted to update you guys: your tips helped. now i take the teeniest-tiniest 1st bite, then chew and chew and chew and chew until it is absolutely MUSH and juice!!! then i swallow and sit and wait......I say in my head "wake up li'l band".... it works!!!
  23. the chew/no swallow is a funny trick. I tried it too...but then i figured out that the juices/fat/oils, etc... still went down my little throat!! hee! hee! hee!
  24. i don't own a scale. i only weigh in when i go to the doctor's, etc...I'm afraid to weigh b/c i know me----> if i dont loose, i get discouraged. if i ever gained, i think i would die! i'm a nutball, so i just dont weigh!!! LOL!
