i think that if you post on this site, you are soliciting advise!!! LOL! otherwise, you would just keep a "blog" in the old fashion form of a "Diary".... locked down for your eyes only, on your PC! LOL!!! as far as the stairs go; one of the things that encouraged me to get the LB was so that i could "do" stairs w/o my knees hurting!!! there was some statistic that i read last year about stairs and how iF "we" (all people, fat & skinny) used them, not the elevator, how much healthier we'd be, how many # of years we'd add to our lives, blah, blah, blah, I dont remember the exact data, but the numbers were big & impressive!! so..... YOU GO, GIRL!!!

hubby is right!!! you need to get up and MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! over this next few days....even when you dont feel like it!! and what is a "cpap"? I didnt have any mask on after surgery.... congratulations on this great decision you've made!!!
  7. Whoo-Hooo! I just pulled down my jean shorts w/o unzipping them!! you see them over there on the floor?? do you hear them crying? you know WHY they're crying?? b/c I'm never going to wear them anymore!! they're never going to go any fun places w/me again! I'm leaving you, baggy shorts! get over me :tt2:
  8. WOW! this post spells DEDICATION!!! ...makes someone like me appreciate the location of my fill & doctor (same building).... about 20 minutes in my own car. Keep up the good work!!!

Today i wanted to do Tae Bo....my trusty w/o from 10+ years ago. Tae Bo was always good to jump-start my summer regiment...I popped the VHS in (yes, I still have dinosours!!) ... but it wouldnt work...it played VERY dark w/no sound.... Sooooo....until i can buy it on DVD, I switched to Turbo Jam (beginner/30 mins)... Ugh! so much coordination and "attention" needed! :tongue_smilie:This is why i like my "mindless" treadmill better!! ...but non-the-less, I know i need to bump-up my w/o, so here I go!!! :w00t:

I dont mind any of them b/c i mix them w/a kiddie size yogurt and/or frozen fruit and 1-2 packs Splenda....I always mix w/4 ice cubes and just enough water to get the blender blades moving...then i get a THICK frosty "shake" each time!!! that I can pretend is from ColdStone or Ben & Jerry''s! LOL! the pre-made ones arent as filling to me but i use them when i'm on my liquid phase and i'm at work, running errands, etc...
  12. walking is excellent exercise for us! morning workouts are very good for "energizing" us for the day!!! keep it up!!
  13. -Today is the start of a new week and the start of a new month....Today I will totally commit to "getting back on track" (aka: recovering from my vacation!!)... -My current goal is to loose 20 pounds, which will put me under the 200 mark!! i was thinking "20 pounds by when....?" but then i decided, to just commit to loosing 20 pounds and not put a time frame--- within reason of course! -The jean shorts that i took on vacation w/me were so baggy that they looked sloppy. so last night when we went to the mall, I pulled out a pair of jeans that i havent been able to snap in over 1 year---the were just fine! -I feel good with the inches i've lost and the muscle toning, but i know i still need to loose those pounds!!! WE CAN ALL DO THIS!!! Happy August Everyone!!!
  14. i'm 3 months post-op. i'm only down about 20 compared to your 30!!! so you are ahead of the game!!! ..but it's true, until you hit your "sweet spot", its not the band working, just you and your determination!!! so just think: when your band hits its sweet spot, you will REALLY move full speed ahead w/your weight loss!!! and Zumba?? wow! that alone is a real accomplishment!!

such a small fill amount sounds like a waste of trip to me???? (just my opinion)...by my 3rd fill, i was up to 10.75cc. my doc himself actually did my second fill and put in 5cc which he did say was " a lot" at once but i was fine. maybe talk to your doc about getting more (much more) at your next fill? be sure its not a money making tactic (my insurance pays per fill, not per amount...so the Doc really would have racked up had i had to go like 20 times to get to 10.75 instead of just 3!!)
  16. great post! excellent progress on your part!!! i'm sharing in your tears! i love the part where the sales girl basically told you "go away!" LOL!
  17. OMGoodness!!! (LOL!)
  18. thanks guys!!! this site is so wonderful!! @HEALTHY111... thank goodness that place is not in the continental US!!! i really fell in love with it!!! I even bought a T-Shirt! LOL! @Bklnike... if i coulda' figured out how to rob a bank, I would have stayed in PR longer!! LOL!!!
  19. Someone told me that the food you consume while on vacation has ZERO calories!!! Is this true?? ....... of course not!! LOL! but it made for a great vacation! I just got back from Puerto Rico.... i started off trying to "eat right" and log everything in my food diary but it was close to impossible!!! most of the food wasnt "American" and couldnt be found in my reference chart...I didnt have internet access and i didnt have enough time in the day to log stuff! I got stuck twice while out to eat... i guess i didnt chew my meat properly? maybe b/c i was so hungry by the time the food arrived? I definitely did NOT over-eat anything!! my band was tight and my pouch is super small!!! but i can NOT say that WHAT i ate was "good"!! I discovered this wonderful italian eatery w/homemade ice cream and gelato!!! Mmmmmm.... then there was the capaccino w/cool whip, the tostones, the arroz con pollo, dulces...........blah*blah*blah*** I did get in a good amount of "exercize" ~ we walked a lot and i played in the waves.... my "new" clothes (the old ones that I can fit back into) still fit -for now (I know the "damage" doesnt always show up for a week or two) I got right back on my treadmill this morning and had a good workout!! My eatting is now back on track....So I feel good PS - I REALLY did miss this site! I missed reading about all of your highs & lows. It will take me a few days to catch up on all your blogs but I'm glad to be back!!!
  20. glad to hear you breeeeezed through your first fill! my surgery date I was 238....now I'm down to 221.... and i have dropped down to a size 16 (some 14s) due to the inches I've lost & muscles I've gained! We can do this!!!!

My insurance paid for my surgery but i am the one who went through the ordeal (of the surgery)!!! so why on earth would i try to "cheat"??!!! insane!!! I'd be cheating myself! my doc gets paid either way - if i'm fat or skinny! DUH! is all i can say!! I mean a "slip up" here or there a cave-in to a craving is one thing, but down right setting out to cheat es LOCO!!!!
  22. southern tea!!! oooh girl!!! you giving up a "mouthful"!! LOL!

Ø This is from a lack of protein in your diet. It is common after WLS. I am supposed to have 60-85 grams of protein a day, minimum! Ø Try drinking Isopure (GNC) ….and/or having a protein shake – mix the powder w/ice instead of water and you will have a thick, tasty shake (add 1 pkg of Splenda if you need it sweeter)…and/or try Met RX’s Pure Protein Bars (6 pack @ Target) or “Pure Protein” bar – chocolate is really good! (6 pack @ Target)..and/or Met RX’s “Pure Protein Shots” – grape or cherry @ Target or Sam’s (Test tube looking containers)…and/or Myoplex (Sam’s, Walmart or Target) premixed “juice box” looking containers. ..there’s another bar that I get in a 12 pack/variety at Sam’s …it’s just called “Protein” by Premier Nutrition (it’s a little higher in calories than the other bars, so I tend to use them sparingly or as a meal replacement – very filling). Ø If you are at the “food stage”, then always eat your protein first, in case you get full. Ø This is just what I did…if you have any doubts, check w/your Doc/nutritionist.
