Has anyone actually NOT cheated on 2 week pre-op diet?
I managed to complete the 2 weeks without slipping up. What helped me & continues to help me is that I told my coworkers that I was having the lapband surgery.Furthermore, I am an RN& am responsible for the care of the bariatric patients. I also lost 17lbs on the Optifast liquid diet.

Going out to eat with the Band
I've been eating out on an average of 2-3x/week since being banded! For me,it's been about food choices....high Protein, lowfat, low carb,no alcohol. Why waste calories on liquor when I can eat! I don't count calories,i don't weigh or measure my food. The band is fickle, sometimes I could"eat the hair off a ragdoll" & other times, when stressed at work, I can't eat much.

Wine and Celebrations
The only thing you would permanetly give up would be carbonated beverages, including sparkling wines, sodas, beer. As far as food goes... nothing. I still eat Chinese, Italian,Thai .Mexican. Just make smart food choices, and of course you'll be eating smaller amounts.

When I was your age, I was a labor-delivery nurse. I was only 150lbs.{6ft tall}. I think the profession contributed to the weight gain! I discovered on this forum, that many lapbanders are nurses & teachers! Something in our "make-up", too busy taking care of others, often neglecting our own needs.- Personal Trainer
Mimi, How long are your sessions?- Personal Trainer
Do you workout with the trainer 3x/wk & are your sessions 30min. or 1 hr? Also did you have to sign a contract for so many sessions and what is the "going" rate for personal trainer in your area?- Personal Trainer
Recently joined a gym & considering hiring a personal trainer. I'd appreciate any feedback... pros, cons. I walk, jog 3-4x/wk.use the elliptical & recumbent bike. I'm about 30lbs from my goal,& my body looks good except for "bat wings". Thanks for any feedback.- Dr. Grossbard self pay

I wanted to share some of the best comments made to me at this point in my lapband journey. I am an RN working on med/surg unit. One of the doctors who I haved worked with for several years called me, Skinny bitch"...lol... not in the derogatory way!He knew I had the lapband. Another physician kept asking me.. "was I feeling alright... had I been ill? When I explained about the surgery he was relieved because he thought I developed cancer. Another MD ,who I hadn't seen in a year circled me in the hallway before exclaiming "Judy?' By the way, I've got to end this post& head out to the mall need to buy some new jeans size 14... down from 24, in 81/2 months.- Alternative to Tylenol?
liquid Tylenol. Also if you are on any prescribed meds, you are supposed to crush them. Stay away from aspirin & NSAIDS like Advil, these meds can contribute to band erosion.- Period during surgery?
It"s business as usual.- **Warning** TMI
