10.5 cc's and only 6 months Post Op! UGH!!!!!!!

I'm at 7.25 and 3 months post-surgery. I freaked out when I didn't have restriction after my last fill and talked to the PA at length. She helped me with my eating and "waking up the pouch", chewing and waiting. I can't believe the difference. I'm actually thinking I might be a little full, but I'm close and I'm managing. But I was crying that day in the doctor's office thinking I'd never feel full and the band was doing nothing. That was around the first of August. Since then? Maybe 15 lbs down. SO IT WILL WORK!!! Keep the faith.........

    Productive weekend.

Nice weekend! I'm glad you had fun and yes, you are spoiled! My daughter was visiting and she was trying to get me to DVR Weeds. As she was describing the show I was laughing so hard! It will be fun to watch and elliptical at the same time :-). Good luck on the weigh in and have a great day!

    Burn-out...

That is a lot of working. Maybe you could talk to someone face to face instead of a written document? Sometimes that goes over better? Take care of yourself. Its tough times and we don't want to negatively impact our jobs and our income, but at the same time you need to take steps to make sure you are doing well health wise as well. Anything small like walks during a break, eating right, taking stairs will all help. Good luck to you, keep us updated.

    Three Month Bandaversary and Ashley!!!

Big day today. Three months ago today I was banded. I don't even remember some of the specifics anymore. I don't know whether that is old age or just focusing on new things like eating healthier and exercise. I've come a LONG WAY since my decision to pursue LAP-BAND® in late December. I've lost 60 lbs, many sizes, shoe sizes, feel a ton better in terms of energy and self esteem. I have a LONG way to go, but I can see the tunnel (not yet the light much less the light at the end). It was a struggle sometimes, but mostly I feel incredibly blessed every day. My 24-year old daughter Ashley is flying in from Omaha today for a long weekend with her mommy. I haven't seen her since Christmas. I might just hug her all night until she finally says "ok I need sleep!". We have a fun weekend of shopping, pampering and family dinners at my house. I'm not worried about eating -- I can't eat that much anyways and I don't really crave or miss anything. I've inspired her (so she says) to work out and she has lost 18 lbs (she wasn't really heavy to begin with), and she wants to go to the gym with me. We will be doing a lot of walking and swimming so I think I'm covered exercise-wise. She leaves Sunday night. I still have her message to me on 5/26 on my voicemail. I re-save it all the time and will never delete it. That voicemail, all your support, and a strength I didn't know I possessed got me to this point, and will get me to goal on 5/26/11. God's peace......... Sandy

I'm glad you are feeling better! It starts to get better every day, and soon you'll wake up and forget about the gas and tummy aches. Walk and water. Congrats and take care!

Size 22 to a 16, what to do about my clothes??

Consignment shops, Clothes Exchanges, EBay. I sold 30 pairs of pants, suits, shirts and skirts. Didn't make a lot; enough to buy a couple "interim" outfits and a pair of shoes. But I felt good. The stuff I didn't sell I gave to the local abuse shelter through church. Congratulations on your success!

Anyone interested in a Christmas challenge?

Hard to believe its less than 4 months away already! Hanging in there; on target to meet Labor Day and Christmas Goals. Its so humbling to see how much weight I've lost and how much I have yet to lose. Keep it up everybody!!!

    Hungry in the Afternoon!

I feel hungry between lunch and dinner as well. If I eat protein (3-4 oz) almost like a meal but with it wrapped around string cheese like deli turkey or chicken it feeds the hunger and keeps me not hungry again until about 7. I eat lunch around noon. But I can't eat dinner usually until 6 and I'm driving between 4-6 (a lot of it) and drinking water seems to make me hungrier. I make up a couple of my little treats, put them in a little cooler and carry it in the car with me from work back home and munch slowly. Finish 2 by 5. I feel much better and not apt to eat so much or so fast at dinner at 7, which is then a bit lighter than a full cup.

    It's easy to forget

YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!!! Congratulations on your success and on "finding your way" with the chewing, eating slow and the band as a whole! I've been eating with my daughter the last day and it was amazing for her to watch me: eat, exercise, energy. She noticed on several occasions that I eat differently, have more energy, and outwalked her every step of the way for more than six miles yesterday!! Yeah band! Yeah us!!!

8/26/10 Hello BG, It's the World Again (Allergan & Realize + Updates)

Nice! That is wonderful! And what is this about "just 50 lbs"? You look AMAZING. You deserve the accolades, just not the "hit over the head with a 2x4"! Hopefully you'll see your opportunities more clearly sooner (or buy a helmet lol). Congrats again!!!

    A little cranky.. day 6 of pre-op

Yep, cranky, been there! Chewing is something you miss a little. Don't worry, it all comes back to you when you are on to "real food" again! "chew" a popsicle or sugar free jello. I know how weird that sounds, but moving your teeth helps create the sensation. I also got a salt craving in there and sucked on olives. Just don't lose one lol. Congratulations on getting to this point and best of luck to you in the future...........

I do Slim Fast Low Carb, but it does have its side effects. Yesterday several protein recipes were blogged, you could try those too? Good luck!
