  1. i think you should congratulate yourself for every pound. i 'celebrate' every big milestone (losing 25 pounds first, then getting to 350, then 299, my next is 250 and i want to get there by mid January). every single pound contributes to something ... so yay for everyone ... even if it is a pound down.
  2. that's what i do. i have to admit, i dont take small bites. i take 'normal' (not fat girl normal, regular person normal) bites. chew like crazy, swallow a little bit, chew, swallow, repeating until my mouth is empty. i've only swallowed the wrong part once, wont make that mistake again.
  3. i agree with most here... diet ... ick die-t. if i diet i fail. i eat what i want pretty much, just much much less. last time i was on a diet (atkins-esque) i lost 10 pounds in 1 week, but the following 10 weeks my weight went up and down the same 5 pounds. i have lost my taste for fast food pretty much completely. now the McD's has the McRib back (i know, i know) i did get one. i literally had 2-3 bites, was satisfied and pitched the rest. yup, it's a "waste of money" but i'd rather waste the money than have it end up on MY waist...
  4. after i was on solids, my surgeon said try whatever i want to eat, take it very slowly and if i have problems stop. the only problem i have is with very dough-y bread. rice sometimes depending on my restriction level that day, but i normally know how tight i am. the really funny thing is, i used to be a massive diet cherry coke drinker, now i have no desire for it. every once in awhile, i will get one, take a few sips and be like 'ehhh... no biggie'. i have to be careful though because of the carbonation, it tends to stay in the pouch and i then have gas pains a bit.
  5. i'm with Kacee on the accountability. i told people so i would look like a total dolt if i didnt lose the weight. that's why i post so much info on my blog. its the accountability, i want someone to ask me how it is going. if i got "the look" (should you really be eating that??!) i would say i am fine, this is not a diet, etc.... i still have a cookie (A cookie, not a bag of Cookies and they are more than likely Kashi or Health(ier) Choice)... i dont 'do' diets. i fail miserably at them. i am changing my life, watching what i eat 95% of the time and the weight is finally starting to drop again.
  6. OMG you guys are just rocking. i need to start running again. yup, i pretty much stopped exercising ... bad LJ, bad!

  9. i dont think there really is a "best" way for everyone. People need to experiment and see what works for them. Dorr - you look great!!
  10. oh, i can so relate. especially Thanksgiving. this HUGE dinner and i literally had a dessert plate with about 2 oz turkey and some stuffing/sweet potatoes and that was it... but you know, i think losing my weight is worth the sacrifice.
  11. oh i hear you on the cookie dough... it's evil! you are doing a great job!
  12. holly, unfortunately it does slow down. i dropped about 65 very quickly (Oct - Dec) then it slowed down. keep it up, it is so worth it!! :clap2:

  21. im in the same boat wasa. super tight today. i had about 2-3 bites of salad, 4-5 bites of chicken and 3 bites of greenbeans and mashed potatoes mixed together and i was FULL ... guess i need to rethink that fill. good news is - im down just over 3 pounds for the week. back to topic - it takes me anywhere from 15-25 mins to eat depending how restricted i am...
  22. i am staying on plan today because seeing the numbers on the scale drop feels amazing.
