  1. t-tapp didnt work for me. killed my knees. will try again in about 30-40 pounds.
  2. mazie, that's the plan. maybe a slight revision when i get my thighs done after i hit goal, but my pannus is creating major balance issues now (i tripped a few days ago, sometimes even just getting up off the couch, i get off kilter of sorts, etc..) i am really excited, but nervous now. my dad was really great about it, made me wonder why i waited to call him ... i would love to drop another 10-15 before the surgery though ... nice short goal ...
  3. congrats on the marathon! i am doing the Minnie marathon in May and planning on the full Disney in Jan 09 hope your surgery date comes soon, it really is the best thing i've done for myself.
  4. **faint** you are sooooooooo close!!!! WOOO HOOOOO
  5. cooollll! im part of a posse? wish someone would have told me earlier. and btw - its losingjusme - no t.
  6. Update, i have financing ... i am going to try to get a surgery appointment late January / early February... wow wow wow ... Enterprise, pics are attached ...
  7. there is no way i would have lost 140 pounds so far without working my ass off at the gym. unfortunately, i did not start before surgery. i started about 10 days after and walked on the treadmill for no more than 8 minutes. i increased the time by 2 mins each time i went. after being banded for about 2 months, i was going 6-10 times a week. taking kickboxing and step classes. weight was falling off of me (about 6+ pounds a week). since, i have tapered off. i need to get back to doing it. i now go about 3-5 times a week, but i am now running. i love it, but i just cant find the motivation to go more often. you'd think dropping the weight would be enough. since not working out much, my weight loss is maybe 1-5 pounds a month. huge difference. so yeah, exercising plays an enormous part in weight loss. the band is a tool, not a cure all. sorry for the rant... this was mostly a kick in the pants for me to get my ass out of bed in the mornings... good luck with your band... :Banane20:
  8. yummy wasa! we have shrimp in the fridge thawing for tomorrow... maybe throw some crab in there as well? costco has some king crab in a plastic container that is amazing (but $$$$!) they have cans as well, but I think the plastic container is better... yum, thanks for this thread!
  9. if I instinctively knew how much and what to eat, I wouldn't need the band.. shakes, ice cream, even chocolate flow right through, and I am properly restricted.. I do best not only when I count all the good stuff, but when I plan and tweak the next day.. takes 5, maybe 10 minutes..
  10. yummie. i LOVE crab. make sure its the real stuff, the imitation is loaded with carbs
  11. oh Julie & Angel, you are both scheduled on the 20th. best of luck to you both!
  12. Ragdoll, thanks for that list. i printed one similar and the cool thing is, is that i didnt really have to ask the surgeon any of them... he answered before i had a chance to ask! i posted this to my blog, but i'll paste it here... - full 'extended' abdominalplasty (tummy tuck) including muscles and pannus removal. - lipo where needed - mons lift included - 1 night in hospital - progressive tension sutures helps with healing. - NO drains due to special suturing - running in 4-5 weeks at a slower pace - basically if it hurts stop doing it dr said that he did not think I was really a BIG GIRL... except of course for my massive pannus... oh and another thing... the gown which they said time and time again was EXTREMELY small... fit!!! I wanna do it. now. :scared:
  13. hi Keri, I just got a quote yesterday for an extended abdominoplasty (TT) with lipo where needed and it was just under 11,000. it would basically be a panniculectomy with a tummy tuck and muscle strengthening included. that includes everything including 1 overnight in the hospital.
  14. Lisa, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts.

  21. not really compulsive, but IMpulsive yes. a bit like Wheet, i believe. if i decide i want something, i want it NOW, this very second and i will search for it and get it. this is a major MAJOR problem for me right now, cause you know what i'm looking into? Plastics/reconstructive ... i need to take my time and find someone. i really think i've found the right guy for me. i really honestly do... but waaaayyyyyy back in my brain i am wondering if he really is who i want to dig inside my body for 5-6 hours or if i am just making due because it's what i want.
