  1. oh hell no! sorry, i wouldnt want to 'entertain' dad at sis's house w/o her being there... and i know its not really entertaining, but if things are already a bit awkward with you two... hell no. i say send the email, that is so wrong.
  2. Drs Harlan and Todd Pollock in Dallas. Harlan is going to be the main Sx, but Todd will help with my hernia and maybe my low profile port. not sure if i want the LP port yet. it's almost $600 ... we'll see.
  3. not sure if i am brave enuff for a nekkid pic of my huge tummy/skin ... maybe after though ... we'll see ...
  4. OMG Julie, i cant believe you are even posting. so glad it is over and went well! C
  5. the reality is already starting to set in... its frightening almost .. ya know? but soooooo exciting!!
  6. yikes, sorry you had a complication. hope you are better soon!
  7. first of all, i agree with Bert. the post op diet is there for a reason - to anchor your band on your stomach and form the scar tissue... last time i checked, chicken wings were not liquid nor mushie ... my advice - stay off the scale. i know easier said than done, but do it ... just KNOW that you are doing all you can be doing right now.
  8. just called inamed (errr allergan), a LP port is $595...
  9. susan, they make a low profile port that can be changed.
  10. Mandi, what about NSVs? any of those? please dont get discouraged. what are you eating? are you logging? exercising? you can do this!! the people who have lost more, did they start out needing to lose more weight? i started off at 402 so the weight came off pretty quickly in the beginning...
  11. bread is what got me huge.... dont want to continue that behaviour ... plus, it is easier to get "stuck" and make you feel like crap... every once in awhile, i will have a small piece (size of my thumb) of bread...
  12. tommo, when does that break start again?
  13. aubrie, oh absolute necessity!!!
  14. 2008 is going to be a fabulous year! you have come SO FAR, you will become even more healthy and more fit in 2008!
  15. hi Susan, i am pretty well restricted and do a 'bandsters gulp' ... few gulps, wait a minute or so, then another few... i cannot finish a bottle of water in seconds, it would more than likely revisit very quickly... (through the mouth - im lucky and havent had anything come back out my nose ... OUCH!)
  16. i didnt start getting truly hungry until about 3rd week out. PUSH liquids though, you do not want to get dehydrated. congrats on being banded.
  17. lulu, are you logging your food and exercise? i find when i dont log, i dont lose. i literally log everything that goes in my mouth - even if it is one Herhsey's kiss, one cracker, etc... give me an few samples of what you eat, how hard and long do you work out? how many times a week do you REALLY break a sweat? i was 402 pounds when i started, so the weight did come off fairly quickly in the beginning, but now it's a struggle. i am seeing the inches, but not the pounds.. dont discount NSVs!! those are my saving grace when i dont see the numbers on the scale move. keep it up.
  18. tops: 30/32 - about 375ish 26/28 about 350ish 22/24 about 315ish 18/20 about 280ish 14/16 right about now, but some are too snug to be seen in public. bottoms: 30/32 - about 360ish 26/28 about 310ish 22/24 about 280ish 18/20 about 260ish, but some are still too snug. depends on if they are stretchy or not. jeans the 20s fit very well from the Avenue. i am about 5'9"
  19. Chris, congrats!! check in when you can.
  20. wombat, oh, i know about the 2 stomachs ... (one that is above the compression garment and the one being sucked in...) my arms and inner thighs are 'skinny' (as in lots of skin) and wrinkly, but my lower stomach is my main problem. going to get that taken care of in 70 days ... :whoo:
  21. you may want to check out the Plastics threads. OUSooner is getting the abdominalplasty i think in February.
  22. just PM Alex or Alexandra (or any mod actually) and if your new name isnt taken, i think they can change it.
  23. and excuses they are ... 1 - honestly, how long does it take to put a pair of workout pants/shorts, sports bra and shirt, socks and on? 3-4 mins tops? 2 - get out of bed, get dressed, go work out, shower. you dont have to look good when you work out, you just have to do it. 3 - why do you have to shower in the morning if you shower right before bed? maybe just wet your hair well and style... im not trying to be bitchy, but really ... 99% of the successes on this board exercise. it not only helps with health, it helps mood as well. you can do this!!
  24. me too. i cant even imagine the concept.. (DH and I met on the net a looooooong time ago)
  25. hi Leena, try a very snug pair of biking shorts or even a "sucker inner" from the Avenue or some other store that sells them. attached is a pic of what i wear. i usually get them in a size smaller than what i normally wear. they really work. i usually do not leave the house without them on! congrats on the jogging, you may want to look in the exercise threads for the Couch to 5K posts. for the chest, maybe a smaller sports bra? the one i wear pretty much flattens my (ever shrinking) chest flat.
