  1. karen, still really tender. i put my gym shoes on this AM and screeched ... im thinking i may have to take the week off
  2. the only 'issue' i have is that i love food. a lot. yup, still do and there are days i wish i could physically eat more, but dont cause PB'ing is bad ...
  3. re the watch ... learned the hard way that the watch ummm ... is waterproof. not that i'd put it thru the wash again to see if im twice as lucky.
  4. yup, i am about 70-80 pounds from my first huge goal (180/190 lbs) and i have a PS consult tomorrow. i actually completely forgot about it with everything going on until they called to confirm. i have the appointment for arms and LBL. hopefully he will say "i can do the arms now" and give me a goal to hit for a LBL. dont think i will go with this guy though - no insurance whatsoever... how discouraging... i dont even know if my insurance will help me out, but it would be nice to be able to go to someone who accepts insurance. here we go ..
  5. thanks guys... today is a better day ... eating wise, it is 1000% better. and you are right, preband it would have been 3 of the bars, not one.
  6. how you PM - find a post by that user. click on their name there is a drop down menu with Send A Private Message. click that
  7. hi Angela, sounds like "last meal syndrome"... with your banding being early next year, it may make it more difficult or you can start the 'pre-pre op diet' sooner and drop some of the liver fat .. i know i am going to catch hell for this, but... my suggestion. have a week. ONE week and eat whatever you want. if you want to get burger king 2 times a day, do it. if you want a piece of chocolate cake for Breakfast, do it. BUT (big but) you must find 30 minutes to do some sort of constant physical activity. if it is marching in place for 30 mins so be it. AFTER THAT WEEK - start a semi-restrictive way of eating. dont fully restrict yourself from everything to nothing. talk about a mind game! pick a plan and stick to it. whether it be low fat, low carb, whatever ... stick to it until you have to start your pre-op diet. that one week of whatever you want is mostly mental. but it will get the 'last meal syndrome' out of your head. i was petrified that i would no longer be able to eat X after surgery. i can eat X even now ... but its about 1/4 of the amount i used to be able to eat. good luck, keep us posted.
  8. :clap2::clap2::clap2: surrrrrre you arent ...
  9. I dunno if we are WOWing the same thing, but yeah... wow
  10. great job whos!! :clap2: i am back to running. will start hopefully today. having work and DD issues (no one to look after her when i run) so it may be a problem, but i will do something.
  11. not always ... sometimes he's a dear, sometimes damn, darling, etc....
  12. i am so sorry that DH (and i dont mean 'dear') did that. he sounds incredibly selfish to 'expect' you to perform for him since he looks good. oh puhleeze. you took the words out of my mouth.
  13. its my soft stop. are you a tad too tight?
  14. because it is what is best for me. focus on food and exercise now.
  15. i was stupid and walking in my kitchen in the dark. opened the pantry door (walk in pantry) and stubbed it on the door frame. it made a 'pop' and is now reddy/black and blue ... PERTY!!! it hurts to walk so i have no idea what i am going to do.
  16. hi jennibee, i am normally not hungry in the morning anyway, but force myself to get some calories in. i know tons of bandsters are tight in the morning. i usually have an Atkins Caramel shake (delish!!) for breakfast. i do stay full until about 11-12ish. good luck!
  17. my head would feel banded as well. not the case at all. received some pretty devastating news this afternoon, first thing i did when i left, hershey's big bar with almonds. whole bar gone in under 10 minutes. :rolleyes didnt make things better, i knew it wouldnt, but i ate it anyway... why? why cant i get it thru my thick head that it just isnt worth it? intentionally ate a crappy dinner as well. thinking 'i deserve this'.. all it made me feel was the carb-induced coma. im sad, im depressed and im alone. dh is out of town for 9 days... dd has no clue what is going on except 'mamas sad' ... only good thing - we didnt go grocery shopping this weekend. no garbage in the house.
  18. hope that's one heck of a Protein bar ... sounds like you need more protein. sample menu: b - shake (Atkins caramel latte - yummy!!) s - almonds maybe l - spicy tuna w/ HB egg and some spicy mayo s - almonds maybe or iSS Oh Yeah bar (another yummy) d - whatever family is having, meat & veggies type food. no late snack. good luck!
  19. Exercise is key to my loss. even if i am not eating perfectly, if i move, i lose. i would say 1700 cal target is rather high unless you are REALLY exercising. good luck!
  20. if i only ate 3 meals a day, they would be 3 continuous meals ... i have b/l/d and usually a very small (handful of almonds, etc) for a snack or 2.
  21. ok, grabbed everyone thru want so bad. i will update one or more times a week and post when i do.
  22. isnt it obvious . . . it's all about me ...
  23. oh dear, we are up to 3 guests now ... i dont care about poop. what's a PB?
  24. i agree, its not her fault she was misinformed... BUT, my concern here is we always say, "listen to your doctor" ... what happens when a doctor is clearly uninformed of the best post op procedures?
