  1. Hi Tony, I was banded on 4/14 and had my post-op appointment with the Dr. yesterday where he gave me permission to eat a few soft foods before my appointment with the nutritionist on Monday. I had cottage cheese for lunch yesterday and thought it was the best thing I have ever eaten, because it was not sweet like all of the pre/post opt Protein drinks and it wasn't chicken broth Best Wishes on your surgery!!
  2. Hello egarduno -- I was banded a week ago today and I feel GREAT!!! AND I am so incredibly happy wiht my decision. My advice to you is WALK, WALK, WALK...you dont have to go fast just one foot in front of the other. It made me feel so much better and just 3 days after surgery I did a 2.5 mile walk for water through our church. I wasn't the fastest but I felt GREAT!!!
  3. kjd612 -- I was banded almost a week ago, and I also have a problem with protein drinks and powders until I tried the one directly from the doctors office. It is called Proti and they have a TON of different flavors and even some "meal options" when I am back to chewing and swalloing. I would highly reccommend searching for someone in your area that sells it. It is the ONLY powder that I do not gag on.
  4. I am 5 days post op and found that gas-x chewables were a huge help with shoulder and chest pain/fullness.
  5. It is my day tomorrow, too! I am excited not yet nervous. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you are doing!! I need to go to bed now as I have to be at the hospital at 6:30 AM. Will talk to everyone on the banded side tomorrow. Good night, Sleep tight, and I will be praying for everyone at every stage of this incredible journey.
  6. Waynooo -- Welcome back! Thanks for the reply and keep up the good work.
  7. Twinserley -- I was also thinking that we have not heard from Waynoo. I get banded on Wednesday and I am so excited and ready. Although I do not have experience yet I am told that walking helps with the burps/hicups and gas pain. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
  8. Froggie D -- Thanks so much for the reply! I also hope my day is as uneventful as yours :smile2:
  9. WOW!! It sounds like everyone is doing so well, CONGRATS!!! I am getting really excited for my surgery next week Wednesday, 4/14! I have a question for the "Veteran April Bandster Bunnies"...What things should I take with me to the hospital and what things do I need to make sure I have at home for my return? Any input would be GREAT!! Thanks!! Good luck to all those who are being banded tomorrow.
  10. Happy Trucker, Congratulations!! Let us know how the next few days go and let us know if you need any words of encouragement  Happy Easter!!
  11. I also started my two week pre-op diet this morning. I am determined not to cheat!!! I keep telling my self that today is the first day of my new life. You can do this too!!!
  12. My doctor will not even schedule surgery until you quit and she does blood tests to check. FYI -- It takes 2 weeks to get the nicotine completely out of your system.
  13. Thank you mslady and mamasugar for your reply. The nutritionist gave me the best news ever today...I can eat 2 protein bars (their brand) per day along with 3 protein drinks. I know it is just 2 bars a day, but anything is better than 5 shakes
  14. Hi everyone! I am being banded on April 14th. I had a final appointment with my doctor last night and today I meet with the dietician to get all of the pre-op diet insturctions. The 2 week pre-op and 2 week post-op diet makes me very nervous! I have done both Medifast and Optifast and could not tolerate the Protein shakes. The nutritionist said that they use
