    Very Discouraged

I try to watch my fat intake as well, staying away from the foods my surgeon gave me on the list of foods to never eat...I do feel a slight difference with my little bit of weight loss, but I am just so ready to be excited and happy with the weight actually leaving. I kinda feel like I don't even have a band! lol, but good luck to you as well, I know we can do it, I'm just having a very hard time because I my friend had the lapband as well, and she lost 105lbs in her first 6 months! So, I'm not feeling to great about myself these days.

Exactly what does restriction suposed to feel like? Is it the sensation of being full quick? I wait 30 min before I drink after i eat or 30 min before eating after i drink....Thank u!

    Very Discouraged

Well, I am working out at least four times a week, doing an hour on the stationalry bike (which usually i do between 17-19 miles) and then I do 30 min on the treadmill. Some days I switch up and do 30 min on the elliptical trainer. I basically eat mostly salads, fruit and I try to eat meat, but i have such a hard time getting it to go down, every now and then I will get some french fries, and when I do, i make sure i spend extra time @ the gym. I really dont sleep that much, i work 7p to 7a, and when I make it home, i'll get myself together for bout an hour then I go to the gym. I usually go to sleep around 10am on the days I go to the gym after work...then I sleep until 5pm to get ready 4 work.

    Very Discouraged

Hey guys, I just want to see if there is anyone out there that has had little to no weight loss with the LAP-BAND®...I was banded 12.1.09...I was 296 and as of today 5/9/10 I weigh 272....a total loss of 24lbs in 5 months...I feel like such a freaking failure! I no longer have the same surgeon...he made me feel like something he flushed down the toilet...I know I have a 10cc band, but for some reason, he wouldn't tell me how much I have in my band....I have been working out lately and I have noticed a little difference...I have a new surgeon that I will start seeing June1st...what exactly is restriction supposed to feel like? I can eat more than a cup of food and still be hungry...the only difference I feel since I had the surgery is the feeling of certain foods getting "stuck"....I don't eat as much as I used to before I got the band....so, that's a good thing...but if there is anyone out there that has experienced the same thing, or has any pointer, plz help me. Thanks

  10. Hey lady! Thanks for stopping by my page and speaking, I am trying to refocus on what's important and stop being so down about my non-weight loss...I have been hitting the gym hard for the past week, and when I weighed in this morning, i was down 6lbs...so..., prayerfully I will make my goal of losing between 30-40lbs by my bday @ the end of june. Be blessed!

  11. Hey Steff! Hope all is well with u! Just stopping by to say hello - and to say stay positive and motivated!!!

  12. Try not to be discouraged, the LAP-BAND? is a slow process and for some people (me included) it takes a while to get the the ever so elusive sweet spot. just remember that the changes that you are making (working out, and better food choices) are the life style commitments we have to make to get the weight off and to maintain weight loss. for me the first 3 months was very slow i only lost 12 pounds but i kept at it, because any loss is better than a gain. if you are not at your sweet spot just be diligent about your diet and your exercise and it will all balance out in the end. whatever you do dont give up just stick to it!!! i had revsion surgery in september and am still struggling to get back were i was before my band slipped. i have only lost 10 pounds since january, but it's 10 lbs closer to my goal. be strong and keep hitting the gym, maybe add another day or pick up the duration or intensity of your workouts. keep me posted on your progress.

  13. I just read your post and couldn't help but write. You DON'T suck. But we're all different, and it seems like you are going to need to be really filled fully to experience restriction. I have far less than anyone else in my band - and when I have too much I puke my guts up. We're all so different. I think you're right, though, your doctor is the jerk. We feel badly enough about ourselves without our doctors beating us up emotionally. You chose the band for a good reason, and I trust that eventually you will get to a better place with it. In the meantime, have you looked for another doctor in your area? The guy who did the surgery does not have to be the guy who does the fills. Good luck.

    I'm hungry!

ok guys i have a i guess crazy question.....what exactly is restriction? i have had 3 fills and i still can eat more than a saucer of food... the only difference i feel is when i eat dry meats, cornbread, just really textured foods...they are hard 2 go down..i get the sliming, productive burps, and hiccups...is this supposed to be restriction? If so, then y do i just feel frustrated because im still hungrY?
