  1. Count me in! I am shooting for 20lbs.
  2. I try to watch my fat intake as well, staying away from the foods my surgeon gave me on the list of foods to never eat...I do feel a slight difference with my little bit of weight loss, but I am just so ready to be excited and happy with the weight actually leaving. I kinda feel like I don't even have a band! lol, but good luck to you as well, I know we can do it, I'm just having a very hard time because I my friend had the lapband as well, and she lost 105lbs in her first 6 months! So, I'm not feeling to great about myself these days.
  3. Exactly what does restriction suposed to feel like? Is it the sensation of being full quick? I wait 30 min before I drink after i eat or 30 min before eating after i drink....Thank u!
  4. Well, I am working out at least four times a week, doing an hour on the stationalry bike (which usually i do between 17-19 miles) and then I do 30 min on the treadmill. Some days I switch up and do 30 min on the elliptical trainer. I basically eat mostly salads, fruit and I try to eat meat, but i have such a hard time getting it to go down, every now and then I will get some french fries, and when I do, i make sure i spend extra time @ the gym. I really dont sleep that much, i work 7p to 7a, and when I make it home, i'll get myself together for bout an hour then I go to the gym. I usually go to sleep around 10am on the days I go to the gym after work...then I sleep until 5pm to get ready 4 work.
  5. Hey guys, I just want to see if there is anyone out there that has had little to no weight loss with the LAP-BAND®...I was banded 12.1.09...I was 296 and as of today 5/9/10 I weigh 272....a total loss of 24lbs in 5 months...I feel like such a freaking failure! I no longer have the same surgeon...he made me feel like something he flushed down the toilet...I know I have a 10cc band, but for some reason, he wouldn't tell me how much I have in my band....I have been working out lately and I have noticed a little difference...I have a new surgeon that I will start seeing June1st...what exactly is restriction supposed to feel like? I can eat more than a cup of food and still be hungry...the only difference I feel since I had the surgery is the feeling of certain foods getting "stuck"....I don't eat as much as I used to before I got the band....so, that's a good thing...but if there is anyone out there that has experienced the same thing, or has any pointer, plz help me. Thanks
  6. ok guys i have a i guess crazy question.....what exactly is restriction? i have had 3 fills and i still can eat more than a saucer of food... the only difference i feel is when i eat dry meats, cornbread, just really textured foods...they are hard 2 go down..i get the sliming, productive burps, and hiccups...is this supposed to be restriction? If so, then y do i just feel frustrated because im still hungrY?

  8. :smile2: I am trying not to sound like a sore loser by having this band...but that's what i feel like. I have had major surgery done on my body for weight loss...but it seems like its all in vain. I havent lost any significant amt of weight and i have been banded 4 months now... and i have only lost 17 funky lil lbs. What's a girl 2 do? I have been working out...not eating terrible foods, but 4 what? Maybe im just doomed to be fat the rest of my life.:wink2::wink2:

  10. Okay, I was banded 12.01.09 and I have only lost 17lbs to date. I have had 3 fills and I still feel hungry after eating a saucer of food. I am not making horrible food choices, and I exercise at least 3 days a week. My surgeon for some reason will not tell me how much he has filled my band with...the last time i saw him, he was just fussing @ me and making me feel even worse than I already do. He says I am the worst patient he has ever had. Preop i was 296 and when I weighed myself today i was 279. I mean, I dnt know what i am doing wrong..I told my doc I can eat more than a saucer, he gave me a fill(i guess), but I still dnt have that feeling of being satisfied...the only difference I feel is when I eat certain foods like baked chicken, it is very hard for it to go down and I start having productive burps and the sliming starts. I have since moved to another city and my insurance doesnt kick in unitl june1st...i have an appt with another lapband doc here on the 2nd of june...maybe he can help me get on track...im just so upset and mad @ myself bc im not losing any weight. Is the intial weightloss supposed to be this slow? Maybe I shouldve gotten the gastric bypass. Anyone with any advice, plz help. Thanks:confused:
