Everything posted by finding me

  1. I will be there tomorrow as well. I am on day two of the pre-op diet and so far so good. Last night was a little hard due to the fact that my oldest daughter had softball practice and I swung by McDonald's to get her dinner on the way and had to smell it all the way from Olathe to Overland Park. You know what is funny about it....I have not ate a fast food burger in over 6 months but last night I could have scarfed that thing down. lol.
  2. Certified Pharmacy Technician for a large mail service pharmacy. Currently one of several people working on a project for the company developing/testing a new computer program for us to work off of. Also a wife and mother of 3. I have a 13 year old daughter, a 5 year old son, and a 3 year old daughter.
  3. Good morning once again. So after my little moment of anxiety yesterday. My son made me realize, without even knowing it, that I HAVE to have this surgery and stick with all the rules!! Last night my 5 year old son brought me a picture he had drawn for me. It was a picture of me laying in bed and him bringing me a book to read. Sweet right. The sad thing is that I spend most of my time in bed. If I am not doing the cooking or the cleaning. We lay in my bed and read at night and color or watch a movie. It is always my husband that takes the kids outside to play. I hardly ever go because it makes me so tired to chase them around and then I am embarrassed that I catch them. I did play a little T-ball with him over the weekend and that kicked my butt. It was fun though and I am looking forward to doing more things with all three of my kids with the more weight that I lose. Tomorrow starts my pre-op diet but I have been doing protein shakes for breakfast for the last two weeks and started adding them for lunch this week. Now I will just have to cut out the 2 high protein snacks per day that I ahve been eating and just stick to the liquids, jell-o, and SF popcicles. Have a great day everyone!!!
  4. I have not gt my band yet, not until March 25, but my doc said they were fine. I love sunrise orange and fruit punch mixed together in a big sonic cup with lots of ice. My other two favorite right now are the wild strawberry it has some caffine in it and I have given up pop so this is a staple at work and also their strawberry/banana it has 3 gm of protein/5 gm of fiber in it but has 30 calories per serving. Oh and Wal-mart has their brand and I love their Cranberry/Apple. I drink it every morning.
  5. Good Morning All!!! I hope everyone is doing well. I have been thinking a lot about the surgery date and am so excited to get it done. But I have had crazy thoughts about dying on the table. Anyone else have these thoughts as well? I have even thought that maybe I should write letters to all my kids incase I don't make it. Please tell me that this is really no big deal. My hubby tells me I have a great chance of being killed in a car accident than in surgery. Is this true?
  6. NYSparklegirl - So glad to see you. I was getting worried since you had not posted in a while. So excited that your day is tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and waiting to hear from you on how things went.
  7. I am so thrilled to see all of you that have got your band this month are doing so well!!! I know that the last time I posted I was pretty bummed that I could not get approved for the loan to have the surgery but all is well and I have found another way to get the money so it is a green light for the 25th!! I hope my surgery (and recovery) goes as well as all of yours.
  8. I have tried the Myoplex Lite Chocolate and while it was not super good it was drinkable. I did not care for it because it left a coating in your mouth. But I did like the Muscle Milk Chocolate. I only buy the pre-mixed ones because I just don't have time in the morning to get all the stuff out to mix one and that way I can just toss it in my bag and drink it when I get to work. They say not to freeze them (the pre-mixed ones) but I toss my in the freezer for about 15 to 30 minutes so it is nice and cold. It makes it a little easier to get down. I have not started my offical pre-op diet but have just been trying some for breakfast to find one I like before I have to do the pre-op. I will need to check out the unflavored kind. Oh and it is not a protein shake but Crystal Lite makes a Strawberry/Banana mix that has protein in it. Not a lot but hey every little bit helps right.
  9. Here is the link to a bunch of people that are being banded in March. Good luck to you!!!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18/spring-into-march-2010-bandsters-108654/
  10. I have not been banded but came across another thread were a person had gone to Mexico and said they are willing to answer questions. I think they even had the same doctor you are talking about. Here is the link. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18/one-week-post-op-yeah-110986/
  11. You need to tell your doctor. You can really do damage to yourself if you do not tell him/her. You can dialate your esaphogus (sorry not sure how to spell that) and then they will have to empty your band until it heals. This happened to a lady at my doctor's office support group and she gained back 14 pounds before they could start filling again.
  12. Good luck and well wishes for the rest of the group getting their bands this week. I am starting to think that I may not be able to get mine done. Since I am self pay and have only got $5000 of the $16,350 need and the finance company denied me for the rest today I am not sure what I am going to do. My parents were going to help and now that I need them to co-sing on the loan for me they said they have to think about it. I get it. It is a big decision for them. I guess that is what I get for getting married so very young and letting that person ruin my credit. I was so dumb back then. I have been divorced from him for over 11 years and I am still fighting to get my credit back in shape. I know it is not all his doing but for the most part it is. Ok I am done with the pity party. I am really happy for all of you and just keeping my fingers crossed for myself.
  13. Doing a happy dance for you!!! So glad everything went so well!!!! Keep us posted and take it easy!!!
  14. Congrats to all of you getting banded today!!! Can't wait to see you post again.
  15. Try the Avenue. Plus Size Cloudwalkers Shoes, Boots at Avenue.com and JessicaLondon.com
  16. I am right here with you. I have not been under 200 since 1996 and if I saw a number like 199 again I would cry as well. Heck at this point if I saw 250 again I think I would cry. I am currently about 340. Wow that is still hard to say even here were everyone has been there , well maybe not 340 but you know what I mean. It is so nice to find the kind of support that I have found on this site. I have the support of my family but the support from people that are in the same place as me is great. Here's hoping you see Twoderville soon.
  17. Tryouts went well!!! She made the team!!! She now just has to decide if she wants to play on this team. She knows none of the other players but they all seemed really nice. I am sure that she will go with this team but I told her to think about it tonight and we can let them know for sure tomorrow. The teams that my daughter has played on have always done really well and for the last two years (her first two years in competitive ball she has always played rec) her teams placed 2nd the first year and 1st last year. So it will be hard for her to play on a 14U B team if they do not play well. I told her that it would not hurt her to play for a team that maybe is not up to what she is use to and she might learn something and she might be able to teach them something as well. She was not even going to play this year but the high school coach has already told her she has a spot on the high school team next year as a freshman but that she would need to play over the summer, so she decided to play to ensure that spot next year. I hope your daughter and her team does well in their tournament. Let me know I love to talk to other softball mom's. I love softball season!!!
  18. I will be there. I went last month and loved it. The group was bigger than I expected but it was fun and the people are so nice. Hope to meet you. I will see what I can do to get my picture posted here before the meeting so we can try and find each other.
  19. welcome to all the new March bandster. I have not checked in for a few days and this will be short and sweet. I am going to start easing my way into the 2 week pre-op diet, so Monday I will start with the pt shake or slim fast for breakfast and a "liquid" snack before lunch. I gave up pop last week and have only had one slip up when I opened a pop for my daughter and took the first sip before I handed it to her (that is a habit I will have to watch). Today kicks off softball season for my daughter. She has a tryout with a new team this afternoon so keep your fingers crossed for her. She hates this part of the season. The last two years the teams she has played for has "dis-banded" after the end of the season so we are on the look for another team. It is really hard to bust your butt to find out you did not make the team and then have to do it all over again the next week for another team. Have a great Sunday and good luck to all you March 1 and 2 bandsters!!!!
  20. Wlecome!!!! Your surgery date is the day before mine!!! I am super excited!!!
  21. I have not been banded yet but after I read your post I thought either you have a leak or they are not getting the port. This is how I feel...You are paying that doctor good money and that is his JOB. If you want him to X-Ray demand it and if you want him to remove the fluid to check to make sure there is really 7cc's in there then demand it.
  22. Well heck that was super easy!!! Thanks for sharing!
  23. From what I got the pre-op diet is to shink you rliver and to lose the fat around it. I would contact your doctor's office to see if they have one you are suppose to do. This is the way I look at it. You are paying them good money to do this for you adn darn it if you want to call they 3x a day to ask questions that is what they are there for and that is what they get paid for. But if you just want to do the pre-op diet here is a link to a tread that discusses a few of the different types of pre-op diets. Each doctor is different. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/what-your-pre-op-diet-110374/
  24. I have no idea but would like one as well. I am almost sure that I have gained some weight since my last appt and so on Monday I am going to start a faux pre-op diet. SlimFast for Breakfast and lunch and smart one for dinner. I will then snack on veggies, fruit and cheese. Wow that got a little off subject. Anyway I will see what I can do about finding one on my break here at work and get back to you.
  25. So I am sitting here at work typing up a report listening to my tunes on my Zune and it just put a smile on my face. I am a fan of all music but love me some good ol' county music. Anyway on pops a song about going fishing and all that fun outdoor stuff that I loved as a kid that I realized I do not do with my kids. Sad right so why the smile.....because I know that soon very, very soon I will be able to do all those things with my kids and enjoy it and not get tired just walking from the house to the pond to fish. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, I can talk my husband into a horse when I get to goal as a woo hoo you did it gift. The only reason I don't now is because 1. I would never haul my 338 lb butt up onto the back of the horse (poor horse) and 2. I don't have the energy to take care of one the way it would need to be and he is to busy taking care of the cows and chickens to mess with another animal. Smiles!!! I hope everyone has a great Friday...back to work I go.
