  1. I actually like the Bariatric Advantage Chocolate. Sometimes adding a few splenda packets really helps the liquids too. The variety of pre op diets is really amazing. I only have to do a 3 day all liquid pre op, but my after surgery instructions will be my reality check lol. Three days liquid after surgery, then puree foods for 1 month after surgery, then soft foods for 2 weeks, then regular food. I even have to crush my pills to powder the first month afterward, had to get special hormones since the ones I take are time release and you cant' crush the time release stuff. Is anyone else going to have to crush their pills after surgery?
  2. I wouldn't stalk too much lol. The people with your paperwork could put your file on the bottom of the stack. Give them a week at least and good luck!
  3. There is a plastic surgery section in these forums somewhere, lots of ppl have had tummy tucks. You may find some good info there if you can find it :rolleyes2:
  4. My understanding is that smoking with the lap band you have a larger change of getting ulcers.
  5. I think he had bariatric surgery of some sort. Sharon Osborne has lap band, she got it before their reality show came on TV
  6. If you have band first, you will HAVE to tell the other becuase there will be a band in your stomach during surgery.
  7. I have a george foreman grill and hate cleaning it. I would rather use my iron skillet that has slats on it like a grill or I just use my grill outside to be honest.
  8. Nanook, your pre op diet sounds like a friend of mine. She had 2 protein shakes per day and 1 lean meal.
  9. Not banded yet but from all my reading and research, I think the weight will not fall off as fast as gastric bypass. It will be slow and until the band is in it's so called "sweet spot" this is band hell as above poster described.
  10. Mix it with Caff Free Diet coke in a glass to make it half caff, then slowly replace with all caff free  That's what I am doing with coffee, but not tried it with the cola's lol.
  11. Go to General Lap Band Discussions and look at all the before and after pics  that is the best motivation I've seen!
  12. Not watched the op on youtube... lol don't think I will until after mine lol. Today is my last day to take hormones before my surgery. They want me to stop 2 weeks before. So hello hot flashes! Ugh lol.
  13. At my pre op meeting, I was told to bring my CPAP machine with me the day of surgery. They are planning on using it after surgery? Has anyone else had to do this? I don't really use my cpap but I said I did so I could get approved without having to do another sleep study. So now I'll have to use it after surgery and I can't stand the thing. Karma is biting me on the butt on this one lol.
  14. Have not tried the Optifast, sorry can't give opinion on that one. I like the Unjury strawberry mixed with vanilla yogurt and a little milk to make it liquid. Add a couple splenda packets and it's pretty good. But of course, some won't allow milk on pre op or yogurt.
  15. Good luck with your surgery Maxi
  16. The difference in pre op do vary. I feel so lucky with mine. 3 days of liquids, but my liquid is 4 unflavored
  17. What is this 1800getslim question? makes no sense to me to be honest.
  18. Did they say you could mix it with milk? I actually like this: 1 cup cold coffee 1 cup skim milk 1 pkg no sugar chocolate CIB 2-4 packets splenda shake it up in Blender Bottle. I put in freezer for about 30 min to get ice chips in it, then drink it on my way to work. You can't taste the coffee, but you may not be allowed coffee pre op. I love my blender bottle (I got on amazon.com) it is great for Protein shakes on the go.
  19. Getting closer! Yay we have some more with approval for October  Good luck Boo's!
  20. Not banded yet, but still thinking of diff ways to get protein. I eat instant oatmeal quite often and have read some people add protein powder to their oatmeal. How do you do this without it getting all powdery and dry? The instant isnt very much, about 3/4 cup, and seems there wouldnt' be enough room for the powder lol. Just curious!
  21. Maybe try a thrift store or consignment shop? Get just enough to get you through until you need smaller clothing again. And congrats on having this problem! hehe
  22. Yay! We have an October Bandsters thread going, come join us and we can do this together
  23. Va_Viv at your age, I bet your skin will snap back Start using moisturizing shower gel. The oil of olay is really good. Also lotion to moisturize your skin. Can't hurt! :crying: Congrats to the new ones getting approved! Thanks Cindylou and congrats on your success!
  24. Is anyone doing "my last time for this" or "my last time for that" this month? LOL The very last weekend before I have to start full liquids, my honey is making me a roast with all the fixins. This coming weekend I'm going to get all my boxes of clothes from the attic and start sorting them into sizes. Lucky for me, I have a friend who lost some weight and she gave me a bunch of clothes in sizes 18 and 16. Bad thing is she has short legs, so the pants may be too short lol. I am currently in size 22. I have clothes from size 14 to size 20 in boxes, so at least I won't have to shop. Most of my weight gain has been in the last 6 years, I hpe my skin snaps back! lol I'm worried about the skin, but in the long run, I'd rather have some loose skin and feel better physically and mentally than have tight skin and feel like crap.
