  1. wow , that is so scary. what are you going to do? is there anyone else you could go to ? i know how painful it is if they MISS. hope you have better luck in the future.
  2. alanon meetings can give you the tools and wisdom to deal with alcoholics... i highly recommend you attend, for your sake and your own sanity. the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. but the result is always the same when dealing with drunks. disapointment and broken boundries.......i personally wont have anything to do with an alcoholic that is not in recovery for at least 3 or 4 years............ even then im cautious. take care of yourself and get help for you. we cant change others......hope your fill goes well. im getting a fill this weekend......... hate the needle but love the results.....
  3. i never had any rash. did you try benadryl? maybe you are reacting to the new band . better call your doctor and find out what to do. let us know what your doc says.
  4. good advice from all, call the doctor. maybe they can give you some anti nausea meds.
  5. i think we go through a huge transition after surgery. our mind still tells us we need more food. but , the reality is our body does not need it. we actually heal and detox on the liquid diet. im amazed at how little food i need to stay healthy and active. people tell me i need to eat more. but, i have more energy and dont feel all tired like i did when i ate like NORMAL people.... my sister is so tiny and i used to think she ate like a bird. she does and so do i, now i know why she is so healthy and looks so good...... it is an adjustment. just get lots of fluids and try to get the protein and vitamins you need. i take liquid vitamins... i was just so glad to be home and have the whole thing over with. looking back it all seemed so easy.... good luck.
  6. just another reason i went to mexico. one low price and great service. no bs.............
  7. i also had migraines before banding. i have not been sick or had a migraine since i was banded........... thank god. i think it has a lot to do with the weight loss..........
  8. i was on clear liquids for a week and liquids for 2 weeks. 3 weeks liquid is even better. the more time you let your band heal in place the more scar tissue and adhesion forms. this will help reduce the chance of slips or erosion later. tomato soup is the last thing id drink. try some hot boullion soup. worked for me. good luck
  9. i got a the book from fill centers usa...... good book. maybe call them and order. go to www.fillcenterusa happy reading.
  10. lets just say im a cheap date since being banded. went out to dinner on friday nite. after 4 bites of salad and one martini, im like cant eat anymore and cant drink anymore........ totally buzzed off one martini. i used to drink 3 and not even worry about it. the booze can hit you hard and fast. i dont drink often, but one drink is all i can have now........
  11. wait, where do you live now.? you are flying to australia for the operation, but you cant keep going there for fills? you will need some support after . you need to have a place to get fills and unfills. you need to have the fills done with floroscopy at first to see that all is ok with your band..... can you check first about fills near you. tell us where you live and see if anyone knows anyplace close buy......... hope you have a safe trip and surgery.........
  12. i hope you find a new doctor that you like. i could not go to a doctor that made me nervous or uncomfortable. i have to feel safe with a doctor before i let him work on me. so.... i wish you luck . maybe you need a second opinion anyway. hope you feel better.
  13. i think that drinking water is what works for me.. then it gets loose and i can pb.......... gross. but it seems to work...... maybe im not really blocked, but if it doesnt go down and i feel that pressure, im gonna drink and try to get it up ... i hate that feeling........ im so careful, but it has happened before. i only eat a few bites at a time......... better safe than sorry...
  14. what happens to your stomach when you get erosion. does it heal and the erosion goes away. or is erosion permenant??? i would think that scare tissue would form and it would heal after a while. what do the docs tell you about that? sorry you had to suffer and all the money you had to spend........
  15. i cant eat steak. i crave steak. i dream about steak. oh well. why is it every date i go on we end up at a steak house for dinner . im always ordering the ceaser salad while i watch my date eat a big steak. if anyone banded can eat steak , i say you are lucky. i eat chicken in my salad , but it cant be dry..... i never eat bread or pizza, but i love edamame. i buy it frozen and it is a great food if you get the munchies.......... finger food. high i protein and fiber...... tastes so good. you must try it. i buy big bag at sams club. it is cheap. it is like eating junk food but healthy...........
  16. the longer you can stay on liquids the longer your band will have to heal in place and adhere with scare tissue. this keep the band from slipping later. i never eat eggs. if your going to eat id try something low risk, but eggs are not good for most people , they just clog up . good luck and go slow.......
  17. wow, that sounds horrible. i hope you have better luck in the future. i hate the needle.
  18. hi katherine. ive posted several times on my experience with dr. huacuz. i think you will be very pleased with the excellent service and high quality facilities. i went alone 2 years ago, so i dont know about the lapbandtrips....... i do go back for my fills and have dr.huacuz check my band. i can only say good things....... im sure you will be pleased.... i highly recommend dr huacuz. you will love his staff,, all very friendly family oriented group of talented medical proffesionals........ good luck with your trip, im sure you will end up having a great time and leaving with good friends and memories....... let us know how the lap band trip thing is...
  19. good luck on your surgery.
  20. wow. i cant imagine gaining weight. ive lost over 100lbs. i think you would have to really abuse yourself and your band to gain weight... eating candy and milk shakes will defeat the whole purpose....... i hope you will relax, anyone who puts in the effort loses the weight. just make sure you follow the rules........ good luck. time flys and next thing you know you are looking at yourself in some store window and saying , damn i look hot....... you will do fine if you take your time and use the band the way you are supposed to.....
  21. go to www.huacuz and his number is on the website. i went to him and i am happy with the results and service...
  22. wow , this is good info. i didnt know this.
  23. i talked to my doctor before surgery about my fear of getting sick and puking from the anesthesia, i was assured that i would not get sick. they gave me great drugs and i didnt get sick or nauseated.... i had very little discomfort, i didnt need pain meds. but, i was told by my doctor that the pain meds actually help you to recover and heal faster.
  24. i dont let people in my house.
  25. oh my god. your friesian is so beautiful. i almost bought one, i love black sterling friesians. i go to that website and drool. im so happy for you. they say they are the most gentle horses. is this true?????
