  1. I had surgery on 10/9/07... 10cc band filled with 5cc's during surgery. 11/17/07 I had my first fill of 1.5cc's. Felt very little restriction.. it would come and go. 12/18/07 today, i had my second fill.. of .6cc's. I'm not felling any different.. but i'll let you know if the restriction kicks in.
  2. I was filled today, the day before Thanksgiving. I'm not feeling a lot of restriction at the moment.. but i'm hoping it kicks in by tomorrow... I don't want to use the holiday as an excuse to eat. How long did it take for some of you to feel the restriction after the first fill?
  3. I had my first fill .. and yes, the day before Thanksgiving. I'm only feeling a slight bit of restriction, but I'm hoping it kicks in quick.. I needed to do this before the holiday, because it would just be another excuse for overeating. How long did it take before some of you felt restriction?
  4. modspace - that's exactly how i feel. i'm trying very hard not to put any weight back on before the fill... but my appetite is coming back quickly.. i'm hoping this is normal.
  5. I was banded on Oct 9th.. And I have lost 15lbs between the preop liquid diet and now. I'm just not starting to eat more, and not feeling the restriction I had from surgery. I haven't lost any more weight.. Which surprises me, considering I am eating a lot less then I was before. I go for my 1st fill the day before Thanksgiving. -laughs- Cruel, I tell ya.. But I'm looking forward to it. I need to start losing before I start getting depressed. -s-
  6. I had to do the 6 month supervised "diet". Because I just qualified with the 41 BMI, I questioned my doctor about what would happen if i did well and lost weight during the 6 months. He said I probably wouldn't qualify. So I didn't lose weight.. I maintained my weight. The time actually went by quickly. We resubmitted everything to the insurance and I was approved, no questions asked. I hope it goes as smoothly for you.
  7. I have been banded 2 weeks today. Am I being impatient because I haven't lost any weight in the last week even though I'm sticking to plan, still feeling some restriction, and walking every night? I suppose the week prior to surgery and the week after spoiled me considering that I lost 15lbs during this time. Now, nothing.. i may have even put back on a pound or two. I'm sad..:cry My first fill isn't until the day before Thanksgiving.. 11/21.
  8. We're neighbors! I'm in Maryland, and was banded on the 9th of October. Best of luck on your journey. This could be the best decision you've ever made! -s-
  9. I'm at the puree stage as well. And the thought of drinking blended eggs just might make me lose a few more pounds..-lol-
  10. I also had to do the 6 month supervised diet before my insurance would approve me. I had just qualified with the 40 BMI at the start of the 6 months. So I worked to maintain, not lose the weight.. so i would still qualified when we resummited the paperwork again. I was surprised how quickly the 6 months flew by. Now I am a week Post Op and 15lbs lighter. It was worth the time, considering some insurance companies don't pay at all.
  11. I only had to do a week of the liquid diet before surgery. It was the hardest part of this whole thing. Even my doctor told me that the surgery and the weeks to follow would be a breeze compared to that week. And he was right..-lol- I went for my post op check up on wednesday.. and counting the week of liquids pre op.. and one week liquids post op...i had lost 15 pounds. So of course looking back on it all now... it was worth every gagging spoonful of low fat cream Soup..-lol- Best of luck to all of you..
  12. I was banded on the Tuesday the 9th... and went back to work today.. 10/17.. and felt great. If you had asked me the first 4 days, I would have thought it wasn't possible.. But each day just was better and better. I went back to the Doctor for my post op check up and he said start working out.....And that is after one week! Good luck to you all...
  13. ohh.. -jots down the ground up chicken and fat free gravy-
  14. Indiogirl - Thanks.. I'm going to checkout the website and see about getting some to try. It's a nice alternative from the shakes everyday. MollyBrown - Let me know how that Protein is, I'd like an opinion before i purchase it. Good luck with the liquid diet.
  15. Hi everyone! A newly banded Marylander here. I'm from the Eastern Shore. Hope to meet my fellow bandsters..-s-
