Hiccups ..why?
Ive heard about ppl getting the hiccups but why? Has anyone asked their dr? Is it b/c you eat too much, too fast, or is it normal for wls patients as a full signal??? Please post your thoughts on this.. Thank you and LOVE you guys!

Does PPI help curb appetite? Anybody?
This thought has crossed my mind too, if I forget to take it, my tummy rumbles and it 'seems' like I'm hungry (I feel the acid with the rumbling). With the rumbling noise, my mind goes into a 'let eat' mode. If I take it, I have to set an alarm to eat otherwise I forget!

Ovary needs to come out before my Sleeve surgery!
Hi Sassy! I have wanted the sleeve in Jan 2010, GYN told me I needed a total hysterectomy in April 2010 - I WAS DEVASTATED! I had to put my sleeve on hold but knew my GYN was right so June 2010 I had the hysterectomy, I did ask that they be done together but the answer was no, and now glad I didnt. GYN tried to do it laproscopic but after two hrs, she opened me up and took everything. I had severe stage 7 endometreosis and all my girl parts had balled together(TMI). Surgery was pretty hard on me.. BUT went ahead and pushed for my sleeve, had it done Sept 9, 2010, not near as bad as the hyster. SOOO glad I did it, I feel so much better. I am sorry you are going thru this, I wish you the best of luck, if you have any other questions PM me.

BBQ recipe post brought this question to mind
Not sure if BBQ is a trigger food for me BUT I LOVE IT! I keep all ice cream out of the house (def. a trigger food). But I have had Sweet baby rays (1 tbsp) BBQ sauce on my chicken and it satisfies me. I have taken one bite too many over the last couple months and REGRET it so I know how much I can eat and dont go past it-even if I wanted more, when my sleeve gets full -its FULL thats it-game over!! I do have trigger foods and yes the sleeve does stop me from overindulging or I get sick and puke- such an awful feeling.. Then when you start losing wt, you are feeling good about yourself and you WANT to make better choices I love my sleeve!

My patient is a sleeve patient.
This is my theory" YOU just MUST do YOUR own HOMEWORK! Dont rely on someone else (totally), make sure what their telling you is accurate!

Anyone see Rachel Ray Thursday?
Pretty sad... I've heard 50% fail also, but it was for gastric bypass patients (not us). For me, I will continue to help myself by learning more about the brain on losing weight, I believe that's the secret.

Carbs and chewable supplements
I can tell you in my case, I am 9 weeks out, I have had stalls (one for 10 days)- stalls are normal- I dont go over 30 -35 carbs ever! Seems like the more carbs you eat, the hungrier you get! I exercise twice a day 30-40 min each time 7 days /week, just trying to get my metabolism up. I feel great! I think if I had 80 carbs/day I would prolly stop losing and gain!!

Advice Please
I am concerned about your protein intake, actually your daily intake especially protein b/c protein helps one recouperate. In my case, for about a week or so, I misread my protein label and was only getting like 30 protein (400 cals) and I went down hill fast, my incisions were hurting, stomach hurt, the way I felt was terriable. Definetly call your NUT/DR and tell them your daily intake, if I were you I would try to sip on protein shake/shooter every chance you can.. Good luck and keep us posted.
