  1. Everyone loses at a different rate. The important thing is you are losing. Just think if you hadn't been banded, you may be up 20 lbs or so. My doctor is very happy with 1-2 lbs loss per week. I have accepted my slow weight loss and consider this a lifestyle change. I know the weight is coming off and I try not to stress about the timing. Good luck and try to remain positive.
  2. I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I also have a desk job, and it was pretty easy. Good luck!
  3. I am interested to know how everyone is doing. My husband has agreed to start with me on 9/12. I'm looking forward to it now that I have dropped some lbs.
  4. I have tried the Skinny Cow ice cream. Less calories and it tastes good!
  5. For me, I am just starting to see the progress. I have recently been told by others that they can see the difference. Today, I was able to go way back in my closet and pull out a smaller pair of jeans!!!!! That was nice!
  6. $350 for a fill it a lot of money! My daughter is self-pay and she pays $150 for a fill. I am lucky because my insurance is covering mine. Again, we live in Indiana, not California - but I would do some shopping around after your 6th fill. Good luck with your progress. You will get restriction soon and will be happy with your decision to be banded.
  7. My band also feels tighter after 2-3 weeks of getting a fill. I don't get it, it seems like we should see a little relief.
  8. Good Luck! I'm sure you will be very happy with your decision!
  9. Congrats! I just printed out the Couch to 5K program. Looking forward to starting it this Sunday!
  10. I have had four fills since being banded and since this last one, I really have restriction now. I can only eat 4-6 oz at a time. Now, eating is more of a chore and not as enjoyable as it used to be. I know we shouldn't emphasize how happy eating used to be, but it definately messes with my mindset now. Does anyone else feel that way?
  11. I just checked out his program. Sounds good. I am going to see if i can convience my hubby to do it with me.
  12. My doc starts with 1cc per month. I have a 10cc band and it is about a 1/3 full. I have very good restriction. It amazes me to hear about people who have 7-8cc in a 10cc band. Good Luck!
  13. I drank a little a month or so after surgery and it wasn't a problem. I only had a couple and drank vodka and cranberry. For me, it hasn't been a problem. Stay away from beer because of the carbonation.
  14. Congratulations to all of you so far! I am on track to lose 70 lbs by my 1 year anniversary. I will be very happy with that. It has been a slow but steady process. I've very happy with my decision to be banded :scared2:
  15. Good luck to you all! It's mostly mind over matter. If you try not to concentrate on it, you will be fine. Just find something to keep youself busy, it helps! Drink lots and lots of water. After my 2 week pre-diet, I got to the hospital to find out I only lost 6 lbs! Talk about mad... I thought I would have at least lost 10-12 lbs. But, it is all worth it. Hang in there!
  16. Congratulations! Keep up the good work!
  17. Congratulations! My scales show me in Onderland, but I want to wait to see it on the doc's scales! My NVS today - - bought 2 sizes smaller :tt1:
  18. Congratulations on where you are at so far! You'll beat that 200# mark with ease!! Hang in there!
  19. I usually can't eat until sometime after noon. I have had 3 fills and it seems it gets tighter in the week or two after the fill. I sometimes have problems just drinking protein shakes before noon. But, I'm not really hungry either.
  20. My doc said to go on fluids for a couple of days and see if the swelling goes down. I got back in 2 weeks for a checkup. If it's not better I will go back in sooner. What I don't understand is I'm not eating much, but not losing weight. Hopefully, I can get this under control soon. Thanks for the input.
  21. Thanks for the input! I will call the surgeons office and see what they suggest.
  22. Since I had my 3rd fill, it seems I vomit every day. I can't eat until after noon and then sometimes it's difficult. I find that I can eat the same thing each day and some days it goes down and other days it doesn't. I really don't want to have any fluid taken out. Any suggestions?
  23. I've lost 31 lbs so far and some of my clothes are starting to get too big. My daughter said it took her losing 50 lbs before dropping a size, then every 10 lbs she dropped a pant size
