  1. Potato Chips are my downfall.
  2. Unfortunately, I am a grazer too. I'm sure that's why my weight loss has been slow. I have not exercised up until 2 weeks ago. I am hoping that helps push the weight loss along. I think we have to make a committment to ourselves to quit eating between meals and stick to the healthy choices. Good luck to you!
  3. Shadst8 - Congratulations on your loss! Great pics - keep up the good work!
  4. Congratulations on getting into Onderland!
  5. How many of you drink muscle milk to help get your protein in for the day? I kind of like it.
  6. I take my synthroid in the am because it's small enough to swallow. I can't take my vitamins until late afternoon because of their size (I don't like the chewable ones). So far, this has worked for me.
  7. Have any of you worked otu with Kettle bells? They have them at the gym, but I've never used them and don't have a personal trainer. I've looked on-line at different exercises to do with them and it looks like you get a really good workout. I'm thinking about adding them into the mix.
  8. I'm keeping 1 pair of jeans from each size I go down. It'll make a great picture - then they're history!!!
  9. WOW! That's fantastic! Thanks for the input!:sneaky:
  10. I finally started exercising 2 weeks ago. I've gone to the gym for 60 minutes 3 times / week. So far, I've been walking on the treadmill (3.5 - 4.0 mph) for 20 minutes and doing the elliptical for 20 minutes (4.0 mph). Then I have added some ab and arm exercises. I feel great after each workout and really wish I would have started this sooner. How long will it be before I start seeing a difference?
  11. I bought a Trek the first time and love it. It is a road bike and we would ride it on trails and on the country roads. My sister and I got to the point we were riding 10-20 miles/day. Love it! That was about 4 years ago, now I need to get back to it! Have fun and enjoy!
  12. Don't you just love that feeling? I am so glad I am finally at the point where my band is helping me! Good Luck!
  13. AWESOME! Keep up the good work!
  14. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishments! Keep up the good work and keep posting pics. You are keeping many of us motivated! GOOD JOB!
  15. As I look back at some of the previous posts, it sure looks like my weight loss has been much slower than others (congratulations to you all). I am at almost 50 lbs lost and feel very good about my weight loss. I just started exercising on a regular basis, so maybe this will boost my weight loss. I must say, I am very happy and excited about exercising. In the past, it was a chore and I hated it. Now, I look forward to it. Everyone keep up the good work!
  16. Hello! I am from the Terre Haute area and had surgery in Noblesville with Dr. McEwen. So far, it's been the best decision I've ever made in regards to weight loss. My progress has been slow and steady. I went to the doc yesterday and am very happy with my results so far. I am very close to the 50 lb mark - about 1/2 way. Good luck with your surgery. If you need anything, just ask!
  17. Congratulations! Keep up the good work.
  18. Congratulations! I am very near to the 50 lb mark too. I finally got good restriction a couple of months ago. I've lost 15 lbs in the last 2 months. I've just started exercising, so I'm hoping to keep up the pace.
  19. Getting dressed this morning, my husband looked at me and said "WOW - I can really see the difference". Guess he wasn't looking that closely before - LOL. It was nice to hear, since when you live with someone the changes are slow to see.
  20. I don't like the chewables, so I went to GNC and bought a vita-pack with 4 different daily vitiams. A couple of the pills are big, but I can take them mid-afternoon and I don't have any problems with them. Not sure if my doc would approve of these since they are not bariatric, but I am going to the doc on Monday and will ask them. Overall, I feel better taking these than I did the Bariatric Advantage.
  21. I DID set off the metal detector scanner in a federal courthouse recently. I have flown a few times since the band without any problems. I am however going to get a card when I go to my doctor next week.
  22. I enjoyed the article. It was never really explained to me that way, but it does make sense. I know the band does not do all the work for you, but is to be used as a tool. Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
  23. Maybe you'll have good restriction for Thanksgiving! It took me about 4 fills to really get good restriction. I will be going back in on Monday and I don't think I will get a fill. This will be two months in a row without a fill, but I am finally losing at 1-2 lbs a weeks. Hang in there, it'll happen!
  24. I felt the same way at first. I always drank 1-2 big glasses of water or tea with my meals. I thought it would be very difficult to break the habit. Once I got good restriction, I wasn't able to do it. In the beginning, I would just sip as needed. I think out of habit I still have a drink with each meal, but very seldom drink more than a sip or two. Good luck!
  25. Rick has a good support system at home and he looks like he's doing great! Good for him!
