  1. I went thru a couple of months where I didn't lose any weight, then when I finally got good restriction the weight started coming off. Hang in there.
  2. I love salads since I've been banded. Before the band, I didn't really like salads much. I preferred the "meat and potatoes". For me, it's a lifestyle change I enjoy. I don't really consider salad a slider food.
  3. I was also a yo-yo dieter and had multiple sizes in my closet. It's great to know we will never need those bigger sizes anymore. It also makes it much easier to pull them out of the closet for good!
  4. I'm with you on the whole insurance thing! I only had to pay about $350 out of pocket
  5. Congratulations! What a great accompolishment!
  6. I bought chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and mixed them up together. Some days I would have a choc/strawberry and sometimes strawberry/vanilla. It was nice to have the variety. Then, depending on the type of ice you use, the thickness consistency is different too. Don't be afraid to experiement.
  7. Hiccups have become a regular part of my life :smile2:
  8. I recently decided if I tried something on and it was too big, I would put it in a bag and not back in the closet. As I was getting ready for work this morning, I realized I had very little to choose from. Guess, I'm going to have to do a little shopping. :smile2: Seems like I've always been obsessed with that number on the scale (which moves very slowly downward), but now I beginning to see physical changes as well. I love my band!
  9. Maybe it's time for you to move out on your own where you can control what kind of food is in the house. I know after my WLS, my daughter didn't like it because I didn't buy all the "junk food" she wanted. She did move out, but now I think she's losing weight because she doesn't have the money to buy the junk food that I had previously supplied.
  10. You got my vote. I'm also a dog lover!
  11. I watched it too. I thought it was funny. I hope they don't make the whole show about being fat. They are the same writers as "Two and a Half Men", so they should be able to come up with a great series. I'll keep DVR'n it for now.
  12. Congratulations! Love it when people post things like this. Keeps the rest of us motivated!
  13. I've been banded 9 months and have lost 42 lbs too! Mine has been slow, but steady. It seems like recently I have been losing at a better rate. I definately have more restriction now. Good Luck everyone!
  14. Absolutely! If I am really stressed, it seems like nothing will go down. Not sure why.
  15. I can eat pizza if the crust is very thin. On the steak, my doc said a moist cut, like rib-eye would be okay sometimes. I've had a few bites of steak, but wouldn't consider ordering one if we went out.
  16. Mine is in the same place and I can feel it. It doesn't stick out (at least not yet), but if I lean into a counter top, I can usually feel it.
  17. Believe it or not, after you reach a certain restriction, that compulsion goes away. My mind tells me I want to eat, but if I try I don't enjoy it. I also have a problem when ordering out at a restuarant. I can usually only eat 3-4 bites and then have to take the rest home. Needless to say, we always have left overs in the fridge.
  18. It's a great problem to have uh? I actually had to go home and change my pants at lunch yesterday because they were so uncomfortably big! I think I will look at Craigslist as well.
  19. Congratulations! It's great to hit those milestones!
  20. Sometimes friendships just tend to fade as people get busier in their own lives. Maybe it's not the weight loss surgery. Take a good look at what's been going on in their lives and try to put yourself in their position. Other than that, take the initiative and make some plans to do something with them. Good Luck!
  21. I had to go home at lunch today and change my pants! They were way too big and I felt very uncomfortable in them - even with a belt on.
  22. I love watching the Biggest Loser. It will be interesting to see how they portray the lapband surgery. One season they had a guy on there who had gastric bypass and they didn't dwell on it too much.
  23. Sounds like there were issues there before you started losing the weight. Maybe he needs some counseling. Good luck.
  24. Congratulations on your success!
