  1. I had a slow down on my weight loss for about 6 weeks. Very frustrating. But finally the lbs have been coming off again. I started working out on a regular basis and I'm sure that has helped. But, I have also been pretty tight with my band lately. I think sometimes if we go out to dinner, I stress about not being able to eat and then I can't eat. I know I don't always make the right choices but it is a learning process and hopefully I'm finally learning. Getting past the 1/2 way point was a good motivator for me. Now I take it 10 lbs at a time. It is very exciting to see the numbers getting smaller on the scales.
  2. I've got WII Fit, but would like to get the Biggest Loser Challenge. Maybe for Christmas???
  3. Sounds to me like you need to have this discussion with the doctor and let him know how the staff has been treating you. No healthcare professional should be rude and hostile to their patients!
  4. I feel my port, but not my band. I do find that while sitting down to eat sometimes it's uncomfortable, but I associate that to the food not going thru the band.
  5. I didn't follow a specific program either. I was just careful with what I ate, listened to my surgeons advise and listened to my body. My results have been slower than some, but I am very happy with everything. Just remember, this is a lifestyle change - you cannot follow a "diet" for the rest of your life. Set realistic goals and change your lifestyle. I havre recently started exercising and am beginning to feel great. I took small steps, but I believe this has helped me be successful. I don't look at it as a diet, just a way of life. Good Luck!
  6. I was approved by BCBS within a couple of days after they received my info. They did not require me to do the pre-diet and I did not have any medical issues. Only the obesity. Good luck!
  7. I've been lucky and my hubby is very supportative. I don't feel guilty if I eat something that is not healthy and he doesn't say anything either. Both of us know this is a process and we are both very happy with the progress I've made so far. Hang in there. Sometimes, it gets harder before they realize this is a lifestyle change. It's a change for both of you and your relationship with food. Good luck - you're doing great so far!
  8. WTG! Your success is incredible! Congratulations!!!!
  9. Only 3 weeks left. How's everyone doing?
  10. I was banded on 1/28/10 and have lost 54 lbs so far.
  11. I was hoping to lose 75 lbs my first year. Not sure I'm going to make it, but I'm very happy with where I'm at so far. I started exercising the last couple of month and now the weight is finally moving again. So, who knows - maybe I can do it after all. Not going to stress about it either way. I know this is a life changing event and I'm good with that. Hope everyone else is doing well.
  12. I've been doing 2 miles on the ellipitical and by the end my feet are extremely tingly. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm wondering if I need to wear a different type of shoe, maybe a running shoe? Any suggestions?
  13. I have found drinking hot tea really helps.
  14. I am exactly what my drivers license says now! I was only off by 53 lbs!
  15. I hiccup 3 times after eating. I also take this as a sign to stop. It's odd though, because it is only 3x's. I've been doing this for the last 3 months since I've gotten good restriction.
  16. Better to find out now than later. At least you're not into a very long relationship with him.
  17. Make sure you're chewing your food good - even the mushy stuff. Maybe take smaller bites and when you begin to feel full or start to get that lump - stop eating. Hang in there.
  18. I lost 3 lbs this week! So excited - shocked actually. I'm hoping I can hit my goal of 5 more lbs by Christmas! Good luck everyone!
  19. I have been going through the same thing and have just started dropping weight again. I have lost 3 lbs this week, but wasn't able to work out for the past 4 days. I wonder if the change up in my routine caused me to lose??? I'm going to the gym tonight and getting back on my regular schedule. My doctor told me it takes about 4 months before you really start seeing the results from working out. Like you, I thought I would see the pounds drop off much more quickly. Hang in there, the workouts are worth it! I feel very good every time I work out. Good Luck!
  20. I'm fairly new at the exercise thing, but I have also been working out on the ellipitical. I typically do 2 miles (around 25 min) then move over to the treadmill. I do two miles on the treadmill between walking and jogging. At first, it was very difficult to jog, so I started walking 1/10th and jogging 1/10th. Every week I increase the jogging by 1/5. I am now walking 1/10th and jogging 1/25. For me, it has been easier because it was so hard for me to jog. Good luck.
  21. Congratulations on your success so far!
  22. I wouldn't worry about the time, as long as you're full and satisfied.
