  1. I just had a similar issue and am 4+ years out too. I stopped drinking coffee and eating acidic foods... sort of a bland diet and am better. The Dr. did prescribe something for me if it recurs. I think I took a medication on an empty stomach at the ER. That got mine started and took several weeks of bland diet to get back to fairly normal. Glad I checked with the DR. because it made me feel better just getting something on hand if I have another issue.
  2. Today is a great day for my band to show me the full button. How thankful I am to have this tool.
  3. Keep going... I am so proud of YOU! I have lost enough to look like the new me. It is not a number but a state of health and well being! Enjoy it!~ Success comes in lots of steps.
  4. Blessings and keep writing. I understand me better because of YOU~
  5. Best wishes and much success. Hoping you find it the best tool ever like I have!
  6. Realizing today we have no real need to eat junk food to enjoy the Easter Day.The sermon at church called us to be Holy and seek Jesus. So glad HE gave his life to save ours! Good healthy Chicken Fajita with lots of onions and peppers and a bit of salsa were terrific. For dessert we had a strawberry trifle. It was layers of fresh strawberries, coolwhip, jello with coolwhip, and angel food cake. I skipped the cake layer and felt content. Lovely Easter and little visit with our youngest son, his wife and little daughter. She was so enjoying the Easter Eggs and hunting them.
  7. I eat a small amount of home popped with real butter. Chew Chew Chew and I am ok with it. The puffed corn is an idea occasionally. I try not to do this much because I am eating whole foods without additives and preservatives as much as possible. I only eat one or two nuts at a time and chew chew chew. Small servings are key for me personally.
  8. Praying for you to get the lapband and enjoy the new journey beginning Apr. 1! This is a great tool and you are just beginning to use it! I have not really wanted tummy tuck surgery... I have a Csection scar that sort of holds things in place. God is good! Healthy and fit make sense now! Enjoy!

Much time has passed with my lapband. Please know it is a slow process. Learning and working through the issues have made me much more appreciative of this dynamic tool!
  10. Just know this is a learning process. The nutrition needed now is imperative. The new you is in infancy. The old you has some habits not healthy to the new you! Learn from this one pitfall and do what you need to do now and tomorrow. If I could change all the old me with one hour surgery it would be odd and far too simple. Keep your focus! You are worth it! My knees are so happy I did!
  11. I first thought... well I can cope with eating this small serving but to tell the truth... I think this band is just "another way I have failed at dieting." I was just ready to cross it off until I had a fill. That has been 4 years the end of next month. I am full now and have only needed 3 more fills over that course of time. The fill is the tool I needed to get the wt. off and keep it off. Hope this helps. The number of fills it takes varies with the individual and you hopefully will be pleased and satisfied soon.
  12. I never regret going to the gym once I get there. I always feel better. It might be good to visit and make sure you can feel good about it. I am happy to be able to do 45 min . now. I started out with 5 min. It has been a blessing to gradually add min. and better health and stamina. Not an overnight cure but a process of keeping on toward my goal! Hope you can keep your goal in sight and press on!
  13. The green zone is a tiptoe in my band. Chewing and slow eating is necessary when I feel I am in the green zone. Also drinking within an hour or less of eating for me is a problem . Slow and steady. Your Dr. will be the best to help you find what works.
  14. Loving to be "healthy" can replace loving "food". Changing my attitude helped so much in going toward a new goal! Healthy eating is using good nutritious food in small amounts to heal your body! Focus on the new you!Blessings ! YOU can do this!
  15. Praying for YOU~
  16. I was denied a few times but kept reapplying. Persistence is a virtue sometimes! It took a while but well worth it!
  17. Wishing you the best with your new band! It will be a great tool to get you to the goal you have set! The first few days are a little tense but you will do well. Always call the nurse or Dr's office if you get puzzled!
  18. I do 2% in grocery brands or name brands. I did try fat free once.. BAD news.
  19. If you look on the internet you will see especially senior citizens who really think this is legit! Posting it might be in jest however it also might save someone from a big mistake! Sad anyone would take the folks funds but it happens.
  20. Keep it going! YOU are inspiring me after all this time! 3+ years out and feeling like I am half my age!
  21. I found a little custard cup that is 1/2 C and a little ramekin that is 1 C with cute little strawberry pattern. I use them daily. You are off to a really good start finding the new tools of success! Hugs~
  22. Just hang on and I am afraid the next step is they need banking numbers or a little money from you for fees. I am afraid it sounds like a scam. Be careful and know if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I had my phone cloned by someone trying to clear out a bank account and pretend to be ME!

Fast food does taste bad for the most part to me too. I will try to eat fish or shrimp if at all possible. Occasionally there is a broccoli soup or french onion soup that I can deal with. Wendy's Chili is one choice that I am good with. I do occasionally have the Cheese with tortilla chips when in a pinch. The good thing is.. we rarely have to do Fast Food! I can order milk and be ok too. So happy to have the lap band to keep my portion control in check what ever I have! Hugs and hope the birthday party is great socially. The food is only secondary! Keep your focus!
  24. I need to follow your lead and clean my closets too. Since everything fits and I like it all it is hard to choose. I do think I like clothes better now than ever. Size 10 jeans are just too much fun. !
