Slow Going...
I agree about watching carbs and fats. I count protien grams and calories. My nutritionist says to get at least 60 grams of protien. Focus on lean protien as the base of your diet. "good carbs" come from dairy, beans, fruits. Get 2 servings of dairy a day according to my nutritionist. I also agree the bottom line is calories in and calories out. If your not excersising, start a program. I know how damn hard it is to start, but once you do you will feel great. Alot of people on this post rave about the wii fit, if you can afford to get one.

First Fill
A fill is very easy. Don't be nervous. You are given a local before the fill. The needle will be long but don't get frieked out. You won't feel a thing! Just think, you may feel some restriction. Of course everybody is different. It took a second fill for me to have any restriction.

Very bad day
Do you think you need a fill? Sounds like maybe you do since you were able to eat so much and not get sick. Best of luck getting back on track!

I'm back!
Good for you getting back on track! Sometimes hard things in life make us turn to food. Do you think that happened to you? I enourage you to start your excersise program. It's so damn hard to start but once you do you will feel great. I write down everything I eat, that might help you get back on track. Best wishes, you can do it!

Weird Feeling
Does it happen when you drink? I get the same exact thing your describing. It usually happens when I have eaten just a little too much. Also happens when I drink, right after a fill. Mine doesn't last long either. I find it helps to move around.

after a fill...
After my first and third fill I couldn't keep fluids down right away. After first fill the next day I was fine. After the third fill on Tues. I couldn't keep anything down until this morning- Thur. I know I probably should have called the dr. yesterday (Wed.). I am now able to keep fluids down fine. Haven't tried even soft food yet- going to wait until this afternoon. Anyone else have similar experiences?

*sighs* whyyy did I do thiss!!!
Well....hopefully you learned a lesson! LOL I think you'll be fine. Doubt the drink had an affect on the band. However people are probably right that you should call your dr. if the vomiting continues much longer. Feel better and best of luck!

I need a kick in the pants!
Personally, I don't believe in fasting. Your body needs nutriton and energy everyday. I would go on the liquid diet for a few days. That might help you get back on track. Good Luck!

Need a good protien shake to keep me full.
I like myoplex lite shakes. They have 20g protien and less then 5 grams suger. I think Atkins shakes have too much fat.
-
Throwing up all the time
I agree. Not being able to keep anything down is not okay by any means. If your doc won't see you I would go to the er. I believe your situation to be an emergency.
-
what would u do?
My doc does the fills right in his office. You might want to find a more convenient situation. That is, find another doctor.

Protein tip :)
I love south beach. I don't think of it as a "diet" but a way of healthy eating. Getting the "right" carbs and the "right" fats.
-
If your stalled, this worked for me...
I swear by myoplex lite bars. 20 grams of protien and 190 calories. Less then 5 grams sugar. You can get them at walmart. No mixing involved.
-
To fill or not to fill?
I would keep the appointment since you are hungry between meals. Just tell your doctor exactly how you feel. He'll know how much to put in. Keep up the great work! 60 pounds wow!

too full at the end of the day.....
I would wait longer before you drink after a meal. Of course you need plenty of water, but could probably get it in even if you wait 2-3 hours after eating. Hope this helps.

wii fit plus
Is the wii fit plus a second board to buy or just an additional disc? Thanks

Protein Bars
I swear by the myoplex lite bars. Very little fat, 20 g protien and they taste fairly good. Atkins bars have significant fat. You can get them at Walmart. Have a great trip!

Anyone taking in 60-70g protein
I was told 40-60 grams of protien. I usually get about 50. Adding canadian bacon to my breakfast has helped. You might want to throw in a shake. I drink myoplex lite, it has 20 g. of protien. Hope this helps.

Slime Time!
I feel the same way. Just don't know when one more bite is going to be too much. I guess slowing down is probably a good thing to do.
-
What is happening to me? OMG!
I hope this didn't happen but it may be that your band sliped. My surgeon told me if it slips I will have trouble keeping anything down. If it continues I would call your surgeon just to be sure. Best Wishes.

FUllbar question
I eat myoplex lite bars (I drank myoplex lite shakes during the liquid phase). They have 15 grams of protien. I find them fairly tastey. I use them when I need to eat on the go. I get them at Walmart.

50 Pounds
The above post gives lots of great advice. My hardest thing is eating slowly, thanks for stressing how important that is.

Help!!!
I wouldn't go if I were you. I think it's too soon. Sounds like you would be very tempted by the beer. Keep your health goals in mind when making this decision. I was invited on a cruise that I turned down. The drinking, eating and gambling was just too much of a temptation. Maybe you can postpone it? Best of luck to you.

For the first time!
I am happy for you. You are doing great and have an awsome attitude! Keep up the good work.

Almost 4 weeks since surgery...Can I have a freakin drink??
From what I understand drinks will make you "drunk" more quickly. Probably not bad news lol. The only concern is calories, as I think you already know. Have a good time at the bar.
