  1. Sounds like you may be a bit tight if you can't eat enough calories. I would suggest the possibility of a slight unfill.
  2. It's typical to have trouble with dry meats- they get stuck easy. Also typical to have some swelling after a fill-and therefore trouble keeping solids down. If you ever have trouble with fluids call your doc. asap. Sounds like you have some restriction- it will increase with additional fills. I wouldn't rush it- you seem to be doing very well. Trust me, being too tight is way worse then being a little loose. Best wishes!
  3. Great job! No reason to be hesitent, nice to see a positive post.
  4. Congrats! You have done great. 2 things to suggest. One is varying your calories day to day, for example, eat 1200 one day, 900 another, 1400 another. Also, vary your excersise. Doing these things is suppossed to kinda trick your body into loosing that last bit of fat. Good luck!
  5. Glad your seeing the doctor Monday! Hope all goes well.
  6. Sounds to me like a normal feeling. I get a pain in my chest when I am full, gets worse if I eat just a little too much. It's worse right after a fill. Not sure about the gas pain, I never had any. Best wishes!
  7. Hi, Love this board, I find it so supportive. I am wondering if anyone in the Port St. Lucie Fl. area is out there. Would love to hear from you. Thanks!
  8. I weigh myself once a week. I have been really good about that since surgery. Well- I cheated twice (in almost 6 months). The daily flucuations would drive me crazy. However, I think different things work for different people.
  9. Try not to compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone recovers differently. For me, it was a very easy recovery. I did have more soreness then you, took painpills for 3-4 days as needed. My energy was fine though. However, I think tiredness is totally normal. You will probably feel much better once you are on solid food. Also, make sure you are getting at least 64 oz. of water a day. Good luck! Hope you feel better soon.
  10. 3-4 hours sounds about right. For me, it's not even that long, probably 2-3 hours. Small snacks hold me over. Sounds like your doing great!
  11. I have been overweight since about 9 years old. I ate to stuff my feelings. I never had a lot of friends and ate out of boredom and lonlieness. I believe myself to be a food addict. Infact, I have other addiction issues. I yo-yoed all my life. Loosing weight and then gaining it back very quickly. The good news is I am in therapy, working on my addictions. I was finally ready for the band Nov. 16th 2009. I have lost 74 pounds and feel great. Still things to work on, but am proud at how far I've come.
  12. My psychologist made it clear she wasn't there to have me turned down for surgery. She just wanted to help the team get to know me. I was totally honest with her. Don't stress about it- just be honest during the eval. You will be fine.
  13. Yes, you are probably bloated. I think they put saline in the iv at the hospital. I didn't loose much the first couple weeks, then bam 8 pounds. Hang in there. Try to stay off the scale except for once a week. The flucuations will drive you crazy.
  14. You are doing fantastic! Keep up the good work!
  15. Regular workouts are one secret to success. Highly reccomend you start as soon as possible. Do what you can and increase time/intensity gradually. Also very important is getting enough protien, at least 60 gms a day. Lots of water helps with hunger and helps your body loose fat. Good luck!
  16. I saw my regular doctor to talk about getting off some of my meds. He took me off the high blood pressure and high cholesterol meds. I went off the diebeties medication a while back. I am no longer on any weight related medications. What a NSV!
  17. I didn't get that pain in the chest feeling after surgery, but do after a fill. You may experience it again as you go through your journey. Best wishes to all of you!C
  18. I was only on liquids for 1 week- then mushies. Didn't have any problems.
  19. Great! I had lots of sizes in my closet too. I am down to the smallest now. I have 2 large bags of clothes for my sister. Goodwill for inbetween clothes is a great idea. Why spend a lot of money on something that won't fit for long. Keep up the great work!
  20. I have gone through phases like your describing. A week or 2 where I am either starving, or getting sick on what I eat. I have also noticed the same food will go down fine one time, and not another. I am tighter in the morning too. I have a protien shake for breakfast and that lasts until lunch. It seems to me my hunger increases throught the day. Are people experienceing such inconsistancy?
  21. Since my last fill I have had great restricion most of the day. It's dinner and beyond I'm having trouble with. I eat as much as I can get down for dinner (ussually 4 0z of fish, chicken and a veggie. I am satiisfied after dinner, but it only last about an hour. I usually suck up the hunger for about an hour and have a snack. I might even have one more snack before bed. My calories for the day are fine, but wonder is I can do something about this evening hunger. I even have a light snack late at night sometimes. Any Ideas?
  22. I didn't know hair loss was a side effect of being a bandster until I read about it here. I have recently begun loosing hair, the drain in the shower is covered and I am finding them all over the house. I have also read it stops on it's own so I am trying not to worry too much about it. Luckily I have think hair.
  23. I have had those feelings too. Especially when I'm sitting infront of a reasonable amount of healthy food I like and can't finish it. I want to eat more, yet am uncomfortable (I get a wicked pain in my chest when I am "full"). I usually stop even though I don't want to. I have learned what one or two bites more will do. It is getting better over time (I am 5.5 months out) so hang in there. You are doing great!
