    5 months post op

hi all so i am doing pretty good...i am 5 months out and about 46ish pounds lost which is amazing...i am however hitting a wall its seems...i'm not really loosing as much as i would like. i am going for an adjustment...my 3rd.... i was also looking for good food advice... i feel like i'm doing something wrong... i eat pretty good but on occasion i eat something i shouldn't...i have controlled myself with that for the most part... sometimes i feel however that once i cheat its like i instantly gain a pound or two and that my exercise is not doing anything! i dunno i think most of it is psychological but who knows...anyone have any advice?

    Nervous

i recommend the yoplay whipped yogurt that worked really well for me...and as far as the weight loss...dont worry once you get your adjustment when its time it will all melt off...i was stuck at 25 pounds lost which was all pre surgery until just before my first adjustment...i actually gained1-2 pounds back....since then i have lost 10 more pounds...just focus on healing and feeling healthy....good luck!

    2 weeks till surgery

one thing that has really helped keep me motivated is if you over eat your gonna feel sick and if you eat things you shouldn't your gonna feel so...so its really helped cuz i felt it the one time after i didn't listen and ate bread when i shouldn't of... i haven't eaten bread since! the surgery is the best thing you can do...i have so much more energy than i did pre surgery and i'm only 35 pounds down...i cant even begin to imagine how great its going to be!

    Curious about liquid diet?

it really all depends on your surgeon...mine had me on protein shakes as well as the broths and stuff..but i would also put protein in the broths...so i didn't have a problem with that...if your not allowed to do that then i would suggest drinking a lot of milk...and extra vitamins!

    In a Rut :-/

yeah i would go for another fill...its there to help you...as far as diet wise...i suggest ham, turkey, tuna or any fish for that matter...do stemmed veggies stuff like that...less sugar the better...actually i would also recommend looking at a diabetic cookbook...most of them are really healthy meals and taste pretty good!.... also return to the gym and kick up your workout a notch it will help...it all pays off...100 pounds is extremly impressive...

    T-7 Days to Banding

you def. have a great diet set up pre op...bread is def. something your gonna wanna avoid post op.... i would also recommend when eating jello or pudding get the sugar free...its really good and you can't tell the differece its so much better for you...also i drink a lot of juice/milk/water since the post op.... i dunno if your big on soda but thats def. something your gonna have to cut out also...its not really not bad once you get banded though... at this point i can eat anything i want obviously with restrictions but in general i don't really have to watch what i eat! Good Luck!

    Finally its over!!

i had to drink protein shakes...they were pretty good...drink regular milk too it really helps change the taste and fill you up....i got my surgery 10/21...it took me really about 2 weeks to feel "normal" i was very tired and didn't really wanna do too much...but once you get over that hump its amazing... you start to shed the pounds off and you will realize how worth it the surgery was!
