Well, it definitely gets easier to fall into bad habits over time. I fall in and out of them, but at least it is a tool to manage your weight. Part of the health issue is simply weight. supplements for me are best taken at night, because they don't seem to give me any problems then. beverages, well I can't get much Water down but do pretty well with iced tea and so I do that or my koolaid. Few cokes, some coffee which I LOVE now but dehydrates me terribly if I drink too much. I don't exercise although I know I will start sometime. When I walk I lose a few extra lbs. I take my thyroid in the morning and my Vitamins at night. I know it isn't enough vitamins, but seems to help. I do the best I can. That is all we can do is find what does work. We are food addicts for the most part, we love food and we are not going to be perfect. You sound a bit compulsive like perfectionist vs. falling off the wagon. Extremes. No forgiveness, no grace. Enjoyment? I am imperfect, but grace is extended if I am at least managing my weight.
The best advice I ever got is Protein first, then veggies, then carbs. But I do eat candy more than I did before, like Hot Tamales and also I eat a lot of Sunflower Seeds. I could be better, but I know I'm just me. I've ALWAYS liked candy. Not chocolate just sugary stuff. But whatever, I just try not to buy it and that helps sometimes but not others.
Lighten up on yourself, you are doing fine. Don't sweat every little thing you do. ENJOY YOUR LIFE!!!

We all probably did at least a little. Some of us a lot. You just have to believe in the surgery, and most of all believe in yourself. This isn't a magic cure all that makes us lose the weight, it's something that helps us do it. So you have to really be willing to work for your goal. If you're willing to do that you will be a huge success.

I am scheduled for surgery on October 3rd and I seriously think this EVERY single minute of EVERY day that ticks down til surgery. I understand this is just a tool to help me get to where I need to be. But that anything can be manipulated to not benefit you. If I choose to suck down 1,000 calorie milkshakes this won't work. I will just have to be responsible and accountable for what I eat, when and how...

I still think it will not work even though there has been some weight loss. After so many failed attempts I think this is natural.

I'm 36 and started close to your weight. I also had trouble losing restricting calories alone to 1000-1200. But this works, the focus in Protein and smaller portions, food journaling. I guarantee it will work for you!!!!

I have been on the pre-op diet at under 1000 calories and haven't lost much weight. However, it just makes me realize hoe important this surgery is for me.

I too get the same thing, Oh your not that big, or your not FAT. Like hell.........I'm 5'5 and I'm pushing 250. I carry it well I say........I have the high blood pressure, high cholestrol, border line diabetic, my joints hurt, tired of being out of breath doing the simplest of things. I have tried everything and I mean everything only to gain it back plus some. I have always had a weight issue even when I was a child. Well you know what, I am going to be 50 next year and I'm tired of feeling this way!! My family is supportive, I have a few friends who say I'm just going to regret it and I'll die. I'm going to die being this Fat.
It's been 30 years since I have weighed 150, and even then I was over weight.........I say screw what people say and do it for you, do what you feel is right inside. Do what your body, mind and soul are saying.
I have my first Nut visit the 20th, I'm looking forward to my new journy but at the same time I am scared! I don't know what it feels like to be thin.......
    I wish you the best!!!

nicci1228....sweetheart it is alot of work and isn't the "easy way out" - but tell you what, it is effective. I wish I had done it in my 20's or 30's after my kids were born. I'm 57 now and I had my surgery 4/6/12. I am barely 5 feet tall...and having 80 pounds off this body is fantastic. I feel better than I have in decades and you will too, and since you are young, you still have alot of elasticity in your skin, so loose skin will not be as big of an issue.
You can do this. Be proud of yourself for being proactive. You are already beautiful, just imagine when you are shopping for size 4-6 !!
    Good luck!!

When I was 21 years old, I was also 230 lbs. Now at 31 years old I am 335 lbs. I have done so many diets I have ruined my skin and my metabolism. I wish I could have had this surgery when I was 21! Best of Luck on your decision and journey!!

Yeah, there is nothing "easier" than having 85% of your tummy removed!! LoL
Granted, it is "easier" than Weight Watchers or popping prescription pills, losing some then gaining it back, sometimes MORE than you'd lost.....when hunger is gone it does make things easier but we still must have self control, we still must make wise choices. It's easier to avoid temptations now, but sleeve surgery is not a quick fix. Anyone who thinks it is, well, they're stupid or jealous!! LoL

I "only" have 70 lbs to loose. I know since i have less to loose I will loose slower. I'm wondering how much can I expect to loose the first month and how long has it taken others to make it to a 70 lbs loss goal.

But because I plan on getting this surgery here are some of the shirts I plan to make. I wanted to share them with you guys. I hope I don't offend anyone. If they have been done before I appologize . Thanks for stopping by
