  1. well if there is a Gnc close by or you can ask if there is one in the area. They will hook you up with anything protein you need.. I know if there is a walmart close by you can get the Julian Michaels protein. I think the best bet for you is goint to Gnc they are very plentyful around the Us.
  2. you might want to check on the box because some people have had problems with mixing it. It seems after really high temps it don't mix well. I would cool down my coffee quite a bit and when you get it mixed up then heat it back up...just my thoughts. I believe they said any thing over 180 degrees will not mix well..
  3. If you not taking a ppi you should talk with your doc to see if he can get you on one..
  4. they usually recommend anything sugar free..the sugar is the key issue involved. Since you are in the uk do you have like vitamen water, something like that . Most surgeons worry about a lot of people intake a lot of sugar in their drinks..I know yall have iced tea right. I take defcafe iced tea and a sugar substitute.
  5. I think 3 weeks is a good recovery for those who have desk jobs or teachers etc. I do heavy lifting and they said I could go back to work after 4 weeks..To answer your question I think it is going to be hard being heavy all my life and looking at my self thin.. It is going to be hard..I just don't know how to answer this but it is going to be a challenge when I gett to that point..if you look through this site I did post on that exact thing a while back and others commented so you can see their opinions..I think that this is a very good thing to do for yourself and if you follow the guidelines you will be fine . Good luck and keep us posted
  6. you really can't go by what otheres say. You are doing this for your health not the health of anyone other than yourself. I wish you all of the luck in the world. You will do fine and before long you will be on the losing bench with us..
  7. great pics..you look awesome keep up the good work..
  8. I understand wanting to start early. I am going with my doctor..2 weeks clears 2 weeks thick clears, 2 weeks soft foods, then regular food.. I don't want a couple of days to get in my way of healing..I guess I am a buzz kill..lol I just don't want a delay to me getting regular foods because I jumped the gun..I am not borrowing any trouble for a couple of days.
  9. congradulations. I'm guessing before you know it; it will be 25 or 30 not 5...
  10. awesome..The sleeve definately rocks!!!

  13. Girl it is the little things tha keep us moving in the right directions..
  14. I am wanting to get to below 30. I would love to hit 210 but anything under 30 would be good for me
  15. 1 year ago today I was in LA weightloss I started my weightloss journey at 408 pounds and finally got down to 343. And guess what they shut down all la weightlosses down for good and I was pretty much by myself again. Well I started my preop diet at 385 and now I am sooooo happy to say that I am down past my La weightloss final weight ..It feels good to finally be going in the right direction again..Just wanted to share...
  16. Cant weight I did have a hard time the first week. I am getting in around 60 to 70 grams per day in now..When I was in the hospital for the first two days i was having pain, nausea and heart burn but they got some good meds out there for these symptoms. I didn't vomit not one time.. I know that everyone is different. The day that I left the hospital I was only drinking 30 ounces of Water so I said to myself that I was not going to let this beat me..I progressed 10 ounces a day until I got to my goal. well it took me to the weekend and that monday I started making Protein shakes with water (the shake also counts as water if you use water to make it) so by the end of the day I was getting 60 grams of protein and 64 ounces of water..I suggest you find a really good Protein Drink that taste to your standards. I use GNC wheybolic extreme 60 amlified. I can't tell you if you will like it but I really do like the taste with water or milk added. The best flavor I have found was chochlate it almost tastes close to choclate milk . "Trust me if you make it through all the hoops to have this surgery and through all the liquid diet you will do fine. Good luck and keep us posted
  17. pretty much when you take liquids in liquids come out...lol but you will be posting when you get on solid foods asking why can't I poop at all...
  18. thin I would think it would be a compliment..Wow if you used to do this all the time then maybe it would boost your self esteem to get back into the grind. Just think it would definitely tighten all the things you needed tightened up. Good luck and take it as a compliment I would..
  19. Don't get me wrong but I think mushy foods are like tuna, canned chicken, salmon, things that can be pulled apart easy with a fork. I think puree foods are like soup you put in a food possessor, or food that has got to the point of liquid.. To be honest there is not a whole lot of difference other that you have to chew the mushies up a little.. I know the definition of the two are not that clear so I am going on the definition I'm telling you..Maybe some more veteren sleevers may have a better definition than I do
  20. Well first of all the surgery creates a lot of swelling and most your inital body weight is going to be water. Second we didn't become overweight all at one time.. It takes time to get everything going. Right now you need to concentrate more on healing and getting to the point where you can get to solid foods. Right now you cant even control the amount of calories in your diet. I have only been able to get in no more than about 400 calories a day. I know that I have got to get to around 800-1200 calories a day before I can get my weight going in the opposite direction. Right now I cant get that many with liquids..So don't really be that hard on yourself.. Let yourself heal
  21. That is really cool there are no limits to water sugarfree jello broth. I drank and drank water eating jello and soup broth I probably still get around 70 ounces of water and I am going on three weeks post op.
  22. I only lost about 18 pounds on preop diet..
  23. well judith you are at the right sight for the answers you need. I had just the sleeve alone but i can tell you lthat I would do it 100 times over with no regrets. The band from the things I have heard has so many failures. Slips and after 3 to 5 years the complications increase rapidly.. I wont tell you that this surgery is right for you but I for one am very happy with it so far..The only true thing I can tell you is to educate yourself and make a decision based on your finding.
  24. The reason why so many doctors say liquids, thick liquids, soft foods the regular foods because the stomach is new and is prone to leaks until healed. I would be scared as hell if my doctor said that you could go on regular foods after day 3. Are you sure you are having the vertical sleeve? If you are the best chances of getting a leak are within the first 4 weeks. There isn't any way I will be putting any food solids into my sleeve until after 5 weeks of surgery..You might want to double check with them and make sure they are giving you the guidelines for the sleeve. I am so glad that I have the restrictions like I do. i really dont' want to borrow any problems..
