  1. I drinik GNC wheybolic isolate extreme 60..It is awesome and in 3 drinks you get 60 grams of Proteins. The best flavor is choclate and if you drink it with milk It tastes like choclate milk.. I have had many Protein shakes and it is the best. If you try it get the choclate it is the best. Its awesome.
  2. vickie I am 5 weeks out and still am having a problem with energy..Until you get on solid foods you are going to be limited.. The anesthesia usually takes at least 4 weeks to get out of your system..Be kind to yourself!!! As far as weight loss the people with higher bmi lose weight faster.. So you low bmi'er don't loose that fast. You will get to your goal you just have to be patient. Get you protein in and up your water intake as much as possible. You will start feeling better soon..
  3. You can make it!!! your have got to have faith in yourself..Hold your head up and don't stop fighting..You will do good.
  4. I seen some update of people that have lost weight and I think it makes them look better. It might just be me I really don't know what to think of myself though.
  5. I didn't have my surgery in Mexico but I would carry a couple of bottle with me just in case they don't have water in bottles.. I really wouldn't trust Mexican water.
  6. Our prayer will be with you and hopful for a fast recovery!!
  7. yep I'm with tiff on that one I never take generic drugs when I can get the real thing..The little bit of money your saving is not worth it in the long run. I agree with yall I just don't think it works as well..
  8. It is a big step into the unkown. I will tell you that it is not easy but if you choose to do it. It will change your life forever and you will be a healtier person. I would personally do it over again I have been sleeved for around 5 weeks now
  9. I would have liked to have a dvd of my surgery ..I dont' know about my stomach though...
  10. :welldoneclap: Well I will tell you the first 3 day really suck. If you can make it for the first 3 days you will do it. I used jello, protein drinks and a lot I mean a lot of water to keep myself full..I know after day 3 for me I really didn't want any food.. Your body will turn on the fat reserves that you have and you will want food less and less. You can do it don't give up.. I was on liquids for 2 weeks was it hard..well yes but it can be done if you want it bad enough..
  11. welll we are glad to have you.. I take your dream as a good sign. You have to take that step into the unknown so far for me it has been an awesome ride.. good luck and remember to sip and walk as much as possible.
  12. You need to talk with Tiffkins she had a bad leak..She is very nice and awesome person to talk with. good luck and I am really sorry about your leak..
  13. :welldoneclap: Well I can tell you from experience in two weeks I lost 18 pounds pre op.. You have to be strict and be very determined when your on your liquids. Sugarfree jello I lived on..lol Make sure you getting 60+ grams of protein a day through protein shakes. Drink as much water as you can stand and be commited. It is going to be difficult for the first 3 days but after that I think you will do awesome.. You can do it!!!!! Also make sure you pick protein drinks that have little to no carbs..By day 3 or 4 your body should be in keytosis a constant state of fat burning..You got cheerleaders here if you need someone give you support...
  14. Well if you follow what your surgeon says you likely hood of a leak is less that 1%. You know the surgery that you are planning to have may cause leaks too right. Not a very high risk but you can develop leaks. I had VSg and I followed my docs diet to the T and I know that I don't have a leak. With the type of surgery like your having after your band has eroded through your stomach you risks of leaks are a lot higher than people that never had a band.
  15. They do recommend broth from anything that is a soup...Chicken and beef broth kinda salty so I guess it wouldn't hurt unless you start eating noodles..The first 4 to 5 weeks are really important so you have to be really carefull..
  16. I was drinking warm coffee as well decaf of course. warm liquids are very soothing..
  17. Well first of all don't fail before you suceed. This is very much a good tool for losing weight but you have to stick with the program. YOu have to say deep inside you that this is going to work. You yourself have to take that first step into the unkown. You have to not let the feeling of you can't do it get in the way of doing what is best for your health..There are a lot of what if's in life you can't give in to that. If you want this for your health then you will do it..There is no failure only success.. Keep your eyes fixed on the goal and take your life back!!!
  18. Good luck and our prayers go out with you...Remember sip and walk.. The more you walk the quicker you will heal..
  19. I use hyoscyamine for my stomach spasms.. YOu probably need to call the doc and tell them to call you in something..
  20. I use benefiber mix two tablespoons in a glass of water and It does the trick for me..I was warned that miralax and other chemical based laxatives was not good for my system. my doc says you become dependant on them.. But you have to realize that the less you consume the less your going to poop..I usually have a bm every 3 to 4 days...If I feel like that it is time and I haven't I start drinking benefiber.
  21. You know I will tell you from experience. You have to keep telling yourself that you are doing this for you and your health..You have to close your eyes and take a walk into the unknown. I was soo nervous the day I went into surgery. I had to talk to the surgeon one more time and I asked him a couple of question and after that I closed my eyes and took a very deep breath. They put an Iv in and told my wife that I loved her and she told me I will see you in about 2 hours.. I am soo glad that I took the step in the unknown it has really made a different so far in my life..I am a dedicated sleever and I would do it 100 times over if I had..
  22. Tiffikins is one of the sole authority on the sleeve in this forum. She also had the sleeve and it failed. I really do hope that she commits on this post. I didn't have the band but I have read that the failure rate is really high after 3-5 years. The more years you have it in the more likely it will slip or erode the stomach..I did about 4 months of studying on all the surgeries and I just kept coming back to the sleeve.. I guess the best thing I can tell you is to educate yourself..I will welcome you to this forum Just as you are good or bad. We are here to support one another, and we will be here in your need as well as anyothers needs. I am just really glad for myself that I took a long time to make my decision on the operation..I am a dedicated sleever and I am glad that I didn't decide to have the band.. Good luck
  23. well it is really glad to know that you are do so well. Keep drinking excercising and getting in your proteins in..You will do good..
