Feels SOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Ok so I still have a ways to go but it feels SO good to KNOW that I'll NEVER be that size again... and I now I have room in my clothes for the new (and smaller) clothes I'll be purchasing along my journey. Feels SO good!

My inner thoughts, I don't share.
We've all been there.... that's why we're here. Now it's time to take those negative experiences and turn them into a positive by using them as fuel to do great! Let the next time you're crying be tears of joy because you have extra room in the seat!

The Dreaded Taco Meat
lol I think it's just taco meat... cause every time I make them everyone (skinny or big) does the SAME thing. Most people I've made them for haven't had them the way I make them (which is silly because it's so simple just ground beef and seasoning) but MAN... once they get it they all eat around 6-10 tacos each. Saying the same thing.. I just LOVE this meat lol... Tacos, nachos, taco meat sandwiches (one of my FAVORITES with the left over meat when there is some - toasted bread, mayo, melted cheese, taco meat..OMGOODNESS! lol) so I can TOTALLY relate, just do your self a favor and only cook 1/2 lb at a time or cook a lb but throw it in the freezer as soon as possible - lol I don't know what else to say but I can definitely relate - good luck! On the upside once you have surgery you won't be able to pig out on tacos like you might want to.

Help me get rid of my belly pouch/flap!

Help me get rid of my belly pouch/flap!
It'll come off Stevie, you just started so be patient it'll come. As for the loose skin - I'm from the school of thought that it doesn't exist and over enough time and FAT loss (not weight loss, but FAT loss) skin will shrink back to it's original state. You will have arguments for days on here regarding the topic, and people who are "know it alls" on the subject giving their "expert" opinion as if it's fact - but do your own research and draw your own conclusions and go with that, after speaking with your doctor. Excess skin tightening usually happens 1-2 yrs post goal weight is achieved, most people are in such a hurry, they don't wait it out and go under the knife before the body can fully bounce back. However, in some cases it comes off all the same time and there's no excess skin at all (this is currently what I am personally experiencing - for those that disagree, there's no amount of writing or pixels on the screen that can argue differently - so please save your time on responding to tell me I'm wrong) You'll do great, stay positive, compression helps and so do natural oils and massage in the stubborn areas. Keep working out, cardio is your friend.. nothing burns fat like cardio. Keep us posted on your progress!

No BM for 13 days
Salt Water Slam/Salt Water Flush - room temp water and salt, creates a natural saline, you'll have an expulsion within 30-60 mins. 1 liter of room temp water and 2teaspoons - up to 2 tablespoons of Un-iodized organic sea salt (every body is different, to be safe I would suggest 1 tablespoon to start.) Make sure you don't have anywhere to go for an hour or so... you'll have a few movements from this one bottle of salt water...the first one will be powerful... but it'll get things moving and cleared out.

We have restriction, I repeat we have restriction!
I hope you get it! my dr was saying that that coveted "sweet spot" usually comes at the 1/2 mark of your band being filled... Hope you find yours SOON!

We have restriction, I repeat we have restriction!
I feel good not hungry at all. I literally take like 4-6 bites of something and I'm done. I couldn't eat more if I wanted to. My doctor gave me a VERY aggressive fill - 1.5 ccs since I missed my last one and was eating way more than I should. But I feel GREAT! - I did slime for the first time though but it was quick painless and over with.. I hadn't eaten all day and tried to eat something quick between the event and after party. I was about 3 bites in and DONE then I coughed from eating too fast and felt like I had thrown up but it was just spit so I kept it moving...

We have restriction, I repeat we have restriction!
So after 5 or 6 fills (I forget which, I could be lying, maybe 3 or 4, ok 5 whatever) I have yet to TRULY feel restriction, it works for a day or so then eh I could really eat what I wanted it, if I wanted to... I finally.. finally have restriction and this couldn't be better after a 15lbs gain in the last month - my doctor says not to worry because it's muscle - my measurements are way down... so they say there's nothing to "do" per say besides eat right and exercise, which I'm doing. But I gotta admit I was upset to see the scale going UP, but I think it'll be on it's way back down here.. I have no appetite.. FINALLY! YAY RESTRICTION!!!!

Ashamed to Admit It
The point is to not deprive yourself. You didn't get this surgery so you can be on a diet for the rest of your life, you got this surgery to help you with moderation and use it as a tool. There's nothing wrong with having a lil' chocolate - it's having a lot of chocolate that's the problem. Try freezing your chocolate so it's hard to bite into.. the break one block off or one kiss or whatever you eat and let it melt in your mouth. The coolness should make the taste become "heavy" in your mouth, making it feel like you're eating more than you really are. Doritos as well are not bad for you, it's too many doritos that are bad for you. Everything in moderation. Doritos are corn chips, with no preservatives, just seasoning (ok well mostly salt) but it's the extra crap in the preservatives that preserves the pounds on your body, so doritos are a better choice than say twinkies or poptarts.. do either of those every go bad???? lol

Master Cleanse and the Lap Band...
Anyone ever done it? I'm starting today for cleansing and weightloss purposes. I'm 10lbs from my own first personal goal and I MUST reach it by monday. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this. I thought about doing the pre-op diet or the liquids pouch test diet but then I thought if I'm going to do it, I need to cleanse my body as well. So here I am...dreading my first Salt water slam... the thought of it...ICK... I know you can do the master cleanse for 40 days but I only intend on doing it til Monday morning before my fill appointment. I also want them to go super aggressive on my fill, since I skipped my last one, if they'll put 2 cc's in that would be good, or maybe even 1.5 cause I need one. I have days where I feel like a hungry hungry hippo and days where I want nothing at all. I'm super sore from working out yesterday...Oh my goodness...I think it was the stretching that did me in, not even the work out lol. It's all working and worth it, when kids tell you "Oh wow you're getting skinnier" lol gotta love the honesty of kids, especially when they keep you in check as well...as the 4 yr old says to me "Why do you always eat that?" as I'm popping something not good for me into my mouth. I stop to think, do I ALWAYS eat that? and pop it out... lol it's a great checks and balances system lol So now I'm off to the store, need some syrup and some seasalt... here goes umm something lol:thumbup:

Kirstie Alley
I don't believe she weighs 230 BUT it could be a fat to muscle ratio - maybe she's just fat which would make her look bigger and weigh less. I had that issue with some women I met locally a few years ago, all of them MUCH larger than me, none of them claiming to be over 250 when I was the smallest of the bunch and over 300 - but they were fat and I was muscle which made that difference.. I would have to squeeze Kirstie's charmin to really be able to tell lol

At the risk of embarrassing myself....
Which the fruit/veggie is the mainstay of my diet besides the protein so that could be it.. even if I'm eating protein I'm usually adding veggies to it, like tuna with spinach mixed in, etc.. so I'll have to stop and re-evaluate because I have noticed it'll happen for a couple of days then stop, then a couple more - but it's totally unpredictable.

At the risk of embarrassing myself....
I think I may be eating too much healthy stuff. I realized yesterday when I went through what I ate I had: 7am yogurt 9am Multigrain bagel w/ cream cheese and fresh fruit melons, pineapple, etc... 11:30 more fruit 1:30 tuna 2:30 is when the "problems" started.. from 2:30 to 4:30 I was running back and forth...I think this is a result of too much fruit. Oddly enough around 7 pm when I had cake and shebert at a birthday party I had NO problems LOL but I also ate veggies and some chips and salsa. Then when I got home around 10:30 I has some more tuna and called it a night. I mean I'm glad that I'm basically regular after hearing other people's stories, I never missed "a day" or anything like that... was able to do what I needed to do, but the gas is just gross, especially when it sneaks up on you. I guess I should go back to using gas-x strips like post surgery but I don't like using any type of medicine unless I absolutely HAVE to.

At the risk of embarrassing myself....
Hmmm I'm 3 months and 1 week post op - I went through this at first, then regulated out, and now I'm back to doing it. Not sure what it's about but ugh...when I go in for my next visit I'll ask them, or maybe this is my "in" to make up on my appointment I had to cancel last friday.. Hmmmmm
-
At the risk of embarrassing myself....
lol my banned friend says this is what I get for not experiencing PB'ing and Slime lol - she says "You're gonna pay for it one way or another.. rooter or tooter" LOL she's so gross, funny but gross lol
-
At the risk of embarrassing myself....
I'm just gonna ask... Anyone else have intestinal issues since surgery? Gas, where there was none before. Lack of time or warning before the feeling of "having to go" hits you like a ton of bricks, etc??? I NEVER had these types of issues before surgery, ever. I'm not sure what to do or say about it... is there anything to do or say about it? Or is it just a side effect of losing all this weight? *In my Ben Stein voice* - Anybody???....Anybody??? lol
