  1. If it's not RLS I would say it's the rest of the anethesia getting out of your system. Everybody reacts differently to it. If you're not walking and flushing your system it's still in there and can take up to 6 weeks to be out completely.
  2. Simple ones would be to make some chili or tender meats, mashed potatos, homemade mac n' cheese, etc... I'm not going to tell you to go off of your scheduled diet, but let's just say i was eating mushies on day 3, and soft meats and mashed potatoes within a week. But follow YOUR doctor's orders and do what's right for you and YOUR body. Chili and homemade soups would be very easy to mask... and would be allowed on your post-op diet. Depending on how daring you feel, you could make a casserole with brown rice or whole wheat Pasta.. if you bake it in liquid it'll puff up to as big as it's going to get and won't expand in your stoma/stomach. The same as if you were making risotto or spanish rice. You can also do tamales, masa doesn't puff up, it's corn meal, it's as big as it's going to get, fill it with soft meats and you'll be able to easily break away the masa and just eat the meat without raising suspicion. Breakfast for dinner, omlettes, etc... all very easy ways for you to stay on track without raising suspicion..
  3. I think you would be fine. At my 1 mo -post-op they did "feel around" for my port to see how it was connected, etc.. (oddly enough they had me do crunches so they could feel it properly) so that may be the only down side to an ab workout yet, is if there were any issue with your port. But I highly doubt that so I would think you would be fine. I'm about to start P90X so if you don't see me online for a few days send help! LOL
  4. You know.. on my instructions they didn't tell me to do a special diet at all... I did soup/liquid the first day and soft food the rest of the day (it was my excuse to eat ice cream) but I feel you on that. I had mine done and I want another one already... I have my next one Feb 8th... and I can't wait for it.
  5. Congratulations! We're right on track with each other it seems, right around the same lose in weight and inches at 1 month post-op.

lol I love the "except at night" lol... I'm sure this is all hormonal and emotional... you don't even want to know what I ate over the course of the the last 24 hours... can we say crackers and slider food... Boy am I paying for it now..

My understanding is that the more weight you lose the looser your band gets which is why the need for fills. The stomach has fat in it too, as you lose, your stomach loses and the band loosens. When was your last fill? Are you within 2 weeks of it? If so you may just be feeling the effects of it... Orrrr the acid from that pineapple inflamed your stoma and esophagus and that's what caused today's issue. If it keeps up check in with your dr.

yes ma'am it's normal it's the iv fluids and gas in your body, it's quite normal to gain up to 20lbs after surgery but usually you lose it all within the first week or so and continue to lose.

Yes I bought a box of wheat thins too.. they will remain unopened... the box of veggie thins is calling my name though.. I almost feel like I should eat them to get rid of them.
  13. interesting... how each surgery is so different, I only have 3 incisions where you have 5 or 6, steri-strips vs. dermabond, etc.. very interesting.. Good luck to you! it's great that you put this up here for people to see, because it was the one question I had and couldn't really find consistent information on prior to my surgery... so this is great info.. Mederma and vitamin e will help with your scars... I used and use coconut oil and cocoabutter before and after the surgery, my surgeon said that's more than likely why I don't really have any scars. Just blessed
  14. Where are you steri-strips? Did you take them off or did your surgeon not use them? By the time mine came off at week 3 I had almost no scars, 1 month and day post off my port incision is a little pink, but not really noticeable.

So I had a battle with the box of vegetable thins and the box one... *sigh* But I slept and SLEPT and SLEPT and could totally go back to sleep right now.. I think I'm in a carb coma.. I hadn't had simple carbs in SO long, it started with the bread on monday, then the bread on thursday, and now the crackers on monday/tuesday again. Every time I eat them I get SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sleepy. Guess that's a big hint to STOP eating them huh? Must become productive....

Congrats...but question.. why not share with your sister if she's going through the same thing? You may inspire her and help better her life. I understand the privacy issue, as I've kept mine very quiet as well, but if it's someone I think I can help I definitely tell them about it.
  18. I LOVE lingerie regardless of my size...and have had no problem finding cute ones.. I've been a size 10 to 7, most of my super cute ones have come from the Avenue where the panties match your jean size... I'm in an 18/20 now which I believe would go into a size 8 in most stores, maybe a 7.. But try them all, lingerie can make a total difference. You could be wearing sweats, but a pretty lingerie set underneath and you'll feel like the belle of the ball and it will show out to everyone else. Confidence is sexy. As for cheap and cute ones.. Try target (they go up to size 10 in their cute ones) and fashion bug. Avenue and Lane Bryant have their own lines and aren't so cheap, although you can sometimes find a good sale. It's hard for me to get out of the habit of shopping there even though I don't necessarily "have" to as I fit into the "plus" that most stores carry, but old habits die hard I guess.. lol Happy shopping!
  19. Congratulation!
  20. I totally understand what you're going through! Here's to friday coming soon!
  21. Congrats! It gets easier! Keep up the good work!
  22. You know what's weird though.. I was "full" most of the day but tonight I just ate entirely too much. *note to self sherbert/icecream is a slider food and should be avoided!* I ate an ice cream bar on the way home from the store, some crackers while I was cooking and then had 3 eggs with pico de gallo and avocado in them. I know I haven't eaten all day but MAN... they say it can take a few days to feel the full effect of the fill... I'm totally full right now... TOTALLY full but I've got head hunger for those veggie thins...
  23. OMGOSH isn't it??? see glad to know i'm not the only one who felt it lol.. and thank you for the congrats!
  24. After the adding of the cc today puts me at 4 cc total...I *THINK* I have a 10cc band, I may have 14 they're supposed to send me that information as they didn't have my paperwork back from the surgery center yet when I asked. But I'm pretty sure it's 10.
  25. So today is my 1 month post-op and I also received my first fill, and let me tell ya, it came RIGHT ON TIME! So the first fill was easy, lay back, pillow under your back, cross your arms, do a lil' crunch, relax and done. The weird part was when she took all of my fluid out to make sure how much I had in me, then added a cc to it.. I could feel it "flush" through my body/band, what I imagine those lil' canisters at the bank would feel like as they get fed through those air tubes. It didn't hurt, it was just a weird sensation. Moving on to better news... So the other day I had my first non-scale victory (NSV - yeah I'm learning the lingo lol) on a whim I decided to try on my ever so expensive seven jeans that I bought 4 years ago, when Lane Bryant first started selling them. Yes the ones Kimberly Locke modeled with the rhinestones and crystals and tears on them.. Yes those ever so fabulous, expensive and I'm glad they're still in style ones. Let me say when I bought them in 2005 I was at the smallest I had been in YEARS or almost like ever. When I tried the jeans on I had to POUR myself into them, do the tight jean jump up and down, wiggle and finish with a deep breath in to button them. But I got them to fit, they were tight but they fit, and I figured I would keep working out and they would fit better. They were cut VERY small... I was an 18 or 20 in other jeans but in these jeans I had to buy a 24. The sales girls just smiled and said yeah they're cut REALLY small, be lucky you can fit into them, most people can't. I wore them once, I got "stuck" in them and had to have my brother free me with a pair of pliers as he carefully jimmied the zipper down so I could get out of them. So back to my "on a whim" moment. So I decide to try the jeans on, as I do every couple of months, in hopes that one time, just one time they'll magically fit. The last time I tried them on they were about 6 inches from buttoning. Hmmm maybe if I wear a long shirt, some rubber bands or my big 80's belt I can pull them off... Yvette you BETTER not walk out of the house in jeans you can't button.. sigh.. the years go by the gap grew from an inch or two to the most recent of 6 inches from closing.. So I decide to check my progress and put the jeans on....THEY FIT... OMFREAKINGOSH!!! THEY FIT!!! and not just FIT but FIT COMFORTABLY!!!! I have been wearing them pretty much every day since I tried them on on Saturday night. Ok so it's only Monday, doesn't matter... they FIT and I'm wearing them to get my money worth! lol But all of that being said brings me to what I was told at my appointment today....Drum roll please... Waist is down 7 inches since surgery one month ago! Weight is down 22.7lbs since surgery one month ago. I've lost 12% of my 66% of "extra weight" and am 90lbs from my doctor's goal for me. My BMI is now in the 40's high 40's but still 40's! My doctor says my progress puts me at the 3-4 month post-op mark, and this was done in a month. She was VERY happy for me, and I was VERY happy as well as I fastened my fabulous jeans after my fill lol I came home and had some soup, then a couple of ours later some applesauce.... about half way through the applesauce I felt I had had "too much" so I know the fill worked...YAY!!! I'm SO glad, because after eating 2 big tortillas yesterday (bean & cheese burrito and a quesadilla - took me 3 hours or so but I ate it) and the mini loafs of bread that come from the cheesecake factory a couple of days before I was starting to feel like I felt before surgery, so this fill definitely came right on time.. I'll see how this one goes, I think she could have put in another CC, but I'll go back in on the 8th and get another one, I honestly think that will put me in my sweet spot...we'll see. Either way I'm feeling great and I'm loving life. This is THE BEST THING I could have ever done for myself!
