  1. Greeting from Canada back at you Espresso88. I'm from Alberta and nice to see a fellow Canadian. I was banded last Wednesday and can't believe how well things went. Good luck to you and welcome. In the 5 weeks I have been following this forum, it has been invaluable with some pretty incredible people willing to share. You'll love it. Katie
  2. Hey Dave, Congratulations and welcome!! I was banded on May 5 and am feeling pretty good although a little tired. I was really surprised at how easy it was. My first fill is scheduled for June 9. How about yours? I think that will be more nerve wracking than the surgery. Katie
  3. Congratulations Kerri, Keep us posted. Katie
  4. Congratulations Anne! I know how excited you must be. I am almost at 1 week post surgery and other than being a lot more tired than usual, I feel really good. Betsy - you had mentioned in one of your other posts that you were going to try the Hot Yoga. Have you had a chance yet? I've practiced hot yoga for about 7 years and LOVE it. Interested in hearing your thoughts. Katie
  5. I was banded on May 5th, and feel pretty good other than being a little sore and a lot tired. Went back to work today, so that probably had something to do with it. I'm on liquids until Thursday and then can start mushies. Not going to weigh myself until Wednesday am - exactly one week Post Op. Curious to see what the numbers are. Fingers crossed. Katie
  6. Good Luck - I was banded May 5 and everything went great, easier than I thought. Congratulations on your Pre-Op loss, way to go!!!
  7. I'm in for 20lbs. First challenge and really excited!! Katie
  8. Hi Jamie, I had surgery 8:30 Wednesday and flew home 1.5 hour flight on Thursday at 11:30. It wasn't too bad at all. Just had to take Gravol ahead in case of any turbulence. Hope this helps.
  9. Hello all, What a wonderful thread. I had surgery Wednesday May 5, and have had a restful recovery day reading all 56 pages of this thread. You guys are great, and so supportive!! I would be honored to be a part of this. Katie
  10. Hi Betsy, Thanks so much for the info. You've given me lots of great ideas. In fact I use the Almond milk and am going to try that right now. Never would have thought to use the canned pumpkin. What brand of unflavored Protein are you using. I've just bought a soy protein. Thanks again. Katie
  11. Hey Vjack Congratulations on your surgery date. I had my surgery on Wednesday morning, was back at hotel around 2pm and flew back home (1.25 hr flight) Thursday. Taking it really easy the next couple of days but really surprised how great it's going. I didn't really know what to expect because everyone is different. Also plan on going back to work on Monday and I have a desk job. Hope this helps. Not too sore, nothing unbearable, just really tired. Katie
  12. Just had surgery on Wednesday and would like to join your Friday Weigh-in's. I'll officially start next Friday and hoping that will be another little "something' to keep me focused. See you next Friday!! Katie
  13. Hi Betsy, How long post surgery did you wait before exercising. My dr says 4 weeks, but I can start on treadmill and elliptical about 2 weeks out. You give really great advice on your posts so I'd like your opinion pls. Katie
  14. I had 16 days on the pre-op of medi-trim shakes. I got through it and of course we're all hungry in the beginning. It seemed to get easier past day 4 or 5. Keep yourself busy and I drank a lot of hot teas - that seemed to help especially in the evenings. I was banded on Wednesday, and have absolutely no regrets, I feel great today - hardly any pain at all. I agree with Elcee we've all been there but just hang in there and surgery day will be here before you know it.
  15. I feel really well. Surgery was Wednesday at 8:30am, back at hotel about 2pm. And then yesterday at 11:30 flew back home (a little over 1 hour flight) , so all things considered I can't believe how good I feel. A little tired but not too sore. Didn't really know what to expect from following the site for the past month, (some do really well and some not quite as well) but pleasantly surprised. I'm on a week of full liquids, what about you? K.
  16. Hey csmart, Welcome, I had my surgery in Wednesday. How are you feeling? This is a great site to get a lot of support as I've discovered over the last month. Katie
  17. Sounds like you've done your homework and are comfortable with your decision. Good luck and I'll look forward to reading your posts. I had surgery 2 days ago and flew home the day after surgery (short flight) and feel really good today. Katie
  18. Think we're all in the same boat there - but let's just take it one day at a time. I know I have a gel stool softener to take and it kind of freaks me out. So just talked to the nurse and she says take it with hot tea. Thinks most important right now is to stay hydrated. K.
  19. Hey Dblex, We had our surgeries same day, and I am also feeling much better today. Had to fly home yesterday so that was a tough day, but only little over 1 hour flight from bc. Is your post-op 1 or 2 weeks liquids? Katie
  20. I was banded yesterday morning, and just had my first cup of broth about an hour ago, nothing else but herbal tea and Water, or crystal lite. Have absolutely no appetite yet, so I'm just assuming that I will listen to my body. Maybe will try a Protein shake tonight. Is it ok not to have any Proteins for a few days?? Katie
  21. Your words are really encouraging - I offically became a "bandster about 11 hours ago. Back at the hotel and can't believe how "well" I feel. Not nearly as much pain as I expected, or maybe it was that I was just mentally prepared for it. Looking forward to a wonderful future!! Hope all my other Cinco De Mayo buddies have fared as well.... Katie :glare::bored:
  22. Congratulations and good luck today!! I'm having my surgery Wednesday. Katie
  23. Thanks Ellen, I will check that out as well. Katie
  24. Thanks for the info. I will take a look right now. K
  25. What brand of unflavored protein are you using. I'm in Canada and spent most of the day yesterday looking. From many years experience with protein powders, I know some don't mix as well as others. With unflavored - can you cook with it - or only add to cooked foods? Any insight would help.............. Katie
