  1. Oh My! Really? This is casue for alarm. If this is true..he should be banned from this site. Personally, I think he's sour on women.
  2. I try to avoid Walmart at all cost....I'm thinking it might be the Anti-Christ. LOL OMG!! I just told my husband that a few days ago. They're in control! What will we do when there's nowhere else to buy meds, food, fuel?
  3. DONUTS?!!! LOL!!!! :) :grouphug: Too afraid to try that!!!! Brave one you are!! :) Mine are steak and Pasta all the time.Sometimes chicken. My fav. food right now is turkey and cheese. Take a slice of turkey and roll it up in a slice of swiss cheese with a little mustard and VIOLA! Lunch!!
  4. Do this! It's the absolute best thing that I've ever done for myself. I was a diabetic. 3 months after surgery, I was off off all meds. I can feel my port.....it's not noticeable since it's on my tummy. When I feel it, I think of it lovingly as my friend. Some docs place the port on the chest. I'd hate that..the scar shows. Yes, I have saggy skin in places but I feel so much better that it doesn't matter. I know there will be more but I can have that taken care of as soon as I get all the weight off and the surgery paid for. ( I am a self-pay...$19,000.00 and worth every penny). You're young, your skin will gain back it's elasticity better than some of ours. I don't miss all those bad things that I used to love to eat at all. Your tastes will change. Or at least mine did. I no longer even think about bread, potatoes or softdrinks. I still love cheescake and indulge once in a great while. I can't eat steak and pasta any longer but so what? I feel GREAT!!! I just had a deli slice of turkey and a deli slice of swiss cheese with mustard and I'm full!!!! Just took the turkey and put the chesses inside with a little mustard, rolled it up and VOILA!!! Lunch! Easy, cheap, filling and good for you. Going out is difficult at first, but you learn what to order. As for having babies, you'll be fine. You can have your doc remove fluid from the band for pregnancy and have it refilled after the baby gets here. You'll have less complications during pregnancy if you lose the weight now before you get pregnant. Go for it!!!!! You won't regret it. Loving my band!!
  5. Hi, I had just a little salad at Ruby's on Sat.and it came back on me. Salad doesn't usually do that to me and it was not pleasant. I waited a while and then had my crabcake. It was SOOOO good! Expensive but good. We were there with 10 other family members. Nobody knows about my surgery except my hubby and they were all like,"Is that all you're going to eat?!" I'm like, "yeah, just not very hungry tonight." :)
  6. Hi, I too am from the south. South Ga. I LOVE grits and have no problems with them. My doc. does though...that is with me eating them. He says they're good and filling but nothing but carbs. No protein. But I do eat them occasionally with scrambled eggs ( protein). I like chicken thank goodness. It stays down fairly well most of the time. So do shrimp and crab. Not so with steak and porkchops. Upchuck every time! Dang! I've found that my tastes have changed though. I now crave fish.Crab is my new fav. I had it Sat. night at Ruby Tuesdays'. The appetizer...the lump crab cake......it was just the perfect size. Another thing that has protein and is very filling is oatmeal. I used to despise it. YUCK!!! Now I absolutely LOVE it. I was upset this morning when I got up and was out. My fav. breakfast nowadays. It's been almost 7 months now and each day is a new experience with my food.
  7. I've had lots but the worst I can think of right now was a doctor I had went to for a bladder tac. He did the surgery but afterwards, came out and said that it may not work because he couldn't do it correctly because of the all the fat. I was about a size 18 at the time. But..I had the last laugh....and it's still funny today after 7 years. At my follow-up appt., he was running around like crazy..lots and lots of patients. He didn't have much time for me. He was very hurried that day and it was just a quick visit and he was ready to go. I didn't keep him long..I couldn't......you see...he had this HUGE booger hanging out his nose into his moustache. You think i told him? Nah.....I let him go right on to his next patient. Hopefully they didn't tell him either. I still laugh about this. he was such an ahole!
  8. I'm sorry, My last fill was Feb. 22nd. My doc. refuses to put anymore in until I can tolerate some solid protein. I completely understand. I don't want to be any tighter than I am, believe me but am wondering what could be the problem here.
  9. Turner24, I may not belong here. I've lost 65 pounds since my badning on Oct.3, 2006. But... I lost all of that by the first of March. I got my last fill in March and it's really tight. I can hardly tolerate anything. Yesterday, I had a total of 400 calories. But I'm not losing. haven't lost a pound since that fill. Thi is really strange since I'm not keeping anything down! I'm extremely proud of my loss up until that time. But what could be goin on?!?!
  10. I eat oatmeal for breakfast and it's very filling. Just one packet of the no sugar instant with milk. It holds me over for a long time. I used to hate oatmeal before surgery but now I absolutely love it. Same with fish.
  11. Hi silry, No worries. Just take your liquids in a little at the time. Just sip on them. Liquids go right thru anyway, they don't hang around long enough to stretch your pouch.1/2 cup at the time is fine..just do a 1/2 cup if you're actually trying to drink and not sip and then in a few minutes drink another 1/2 cup. believ me..if you'd taken in too much, you'd know it. Too much will cause pain and it would possibly come back as well. If this hasn't happened...you'e fine.

Mine in South Ga. was $15,950 with a year of free fills. Worth every dime I self-paid!
  13. I think it is. I know of several men who've lost quicker.
  14. I drink the clear flavored Isopure form GNC but I doctor them up somewhat. I put a couple of slices of lime and some crushed strawberries in them with lots of crushed ice. It's similar to the strawberry limeade form Sonic.
  15. Hi puddin, You might text him back and tell him what a WONDERFUL day you had ( whether you did or not) and ask him if his was good too. You could tell him that you were SO....busy when you received his text that you didn't have time to say more than "you too".This would give him a chance to further conversate if he wants. Just FYI though...most men are small talkers so don't let his absence of conversation confuse you. My husband doesn't say much at all but he's wonderful. Then I have a friend whose man talks and texts her constantly and he's great too! Happy Valentine's Day!!! Carole P.S. my husband e-mailed me this message today: Happy Valentine's Day honey! Be mine for another 32 years! We were young married folks...17 & 19 and we're still young married folks at 49 & 51! Some men are just not much for words but what they do say means so much!!
