  1. Hi Newbies! Welcome to lapband "Heaven"! How quickly you loose does depend on how much effort you put in. But, I have determined by reading this site, that it,also, depends on how much you have to loose. If you have a lot to loose, then it seems to come off quicker. But as you get closer to goal, or if you have less to loose, then it take longer. I hoe that that makes sense! Anyway, you should be able to loose 1-2 lbs a week when you 1st start. Than later maybe only 5 a month. Suddenly, it will drop to nothing, you will hit a plateau, but if you cut your calories, or increase your exercise, your weight loss will pick back up. Best wishes to you all. Karen
  2. I agree with Cindy C, you probably have a 10cc band. Karen
  3. Someone mentioned in another topic that the warm weather affects their band. It could be that is your problem, too! Take care, Karen
  4. Congrats, Sabrina!
  5. See your surgeon and have a x-ray doen under barium, It sounds like maybe you have a slip or something. best wishes.Karen
  6. I had to have a revision due to a slip. The surgeon thought maybe removal and new band, but was able to reposition the current band. This was the 2nd slip I had and it was bad. So, if you or anyone else gets aslip, try and unfill 1st. Gerd and night reflux are certain signs of slips. Karen
  7. Hi, I had to have revisoion surgery in Oct 2011. I am on Medicare so most of the bill was covered, but I kept getting notices from the hospital for $1132 unpaid. I have supplemetnal insurance, Aetna, which should have covered it. So, I call Aetna, and the hospital never put in the correct codes. After several months and phone calls, I just received notice that the whole bill is paid! Hurray for Aetna and persistance! Karen
  8. My sincere congratulations! Onederland is beautiful, you are doing so good! Keep it up and you will be to your goal before you know it! Karen
  9. Oh so much of what I felt was written here. My drivers license still has the old picture. But my Visa card has the new picture. It was easier to change the Visa card and passport than to go to the DMV!! I was years not able to see my collar bones and to not wear nice necklaces unless they had an extender. The 1st time I saw myself in the overhead mirror at Target, I did not recogize ME!!!Most people that I know don't remember me as the fat lady at church! But, that was who I was and didn't want people to only know me that way, anyway!!!Best wishes to us all! Karen
  10. Can't say that I cheated, but I think we all have the fear that the surgoen will say, can't operate, I am sur ethat your bit of popcorn will be okay. Best wishes for your surgery on Thursday( that's tomorrow!!!!) Karen.

  22. Hi everyone. I don't know if I have ever introduced myself. I think it has to do with CRS(can't remember stuff). Anyway, I will be 64 in July. And I live in Lakeland, Fl. I moved here to my retirement home in 2006 right before the housing market crash. It was good for selling my home in Maryland, but really not so good for purchasing a home in Lakeland. Anyway, I had surgey on Oct. 30, 2009. I had lapband revision on Oct 14, 2011. Before my revision, I had met my goal, since revision, I have gained back 15 lbs. So, now, I am fighting to loose that and gain my power back. My surgeon has filled me to 5 cc, and said that anymore would cause me to be overfilled. I know others have been filled more, but I guess I am sensitive to the fills. I am glad to meet you and hope to hear more from you as time goes by. Karen
  23. Best wishes to you both. I had revison on my band in October 2011. I have regaiend 15 lbs, and have been struggling ever since. But, now I have plateaued, so hopefully I can start loosing again. I have 5cc and surgeon will not fill further as he sees me in the "green zone" and anymore will not go down as proved to me with barium. He had to have me drink water to get it to move. SO, I struggle along. Best wishes and keep in touch. Wish that I had any reassurance for you, tho. Karen
  24. Whoohoo! Soon the seat will be big enough for you both to be comfortable. Great going, best wishes! Ride and enjoy. Karen
  25. I agree with the op, you need to walk as much as possible. I walked the hopsital corridors 5-6 times while I was there. I had an overnight stay, I was up at 3 am because I coud not sleep, I walked the halls. Best wishes. karen
