  1. I had so many, but the main one, I have always said was not wanting to be known as the "fat lady" in the choir. I had surgery in Oct 2009, no one remembers me from before!! I guess I was a nobody up until I lost weight! (by the way, I moved to this area and church in Oct 2006)!. Karen
  2. Welcome, Sfog, your journey is about to begin! Congratulatuions and best wishes! Karen
  3. That is GERD, coused by acid reflux. You might be too tight or eating too close to going to bed.
  4. Well, I had always used pineapple juice for a stuck. But, had a stuck episode a couple weeks ago, my son, suggested cola, tried it. and iT works like roto-rooter, cleared up instantly!! Pineapple juice made it come up, cola wooshes it down. He had been to Spain and met a nurse who worked in a band doctor's office. This is what she said they used for stuck incidents.) I now have a large cola in my cupobord for emergencies!! Best of luck to all stuck folks! Karen
  5. Yes Sir! You do look great! Hurrah!! Karen

  8. Just make sure that you get plenty of fiber, add some to your liquids if you need to . I do every now and then. I have had an ongoing problem for the last 2 1/2 years since banding, it has now seemed to work itself back to normal. Hope that you get going again!!Karen

  10. I totally agree, overfill is bad. Glad to hear that your surgeon removed some. Take it easy for a day or 2, my surgoen suggests 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids. I was just so glad to keep something down, I kind of rushed it an donly waited a total of 2 days. Bets wishes for a quick healing. Karen

  14. I can share small, thin crust pizza with 2 friends. I eat it slowly, usually cutting it ro nibbly it. I stay away from pepperoni, or anyhting with too much on it. Never eat mushrooms, because they don't get mushy enough to go down. You will find, that you are a cheap date for dinner out!! Best of luck, Karen
  15. I hate the treadmill, so I normally walk outside. But, today we were having heavy rain and thunder, so I walked inside on my treadmill. I took it slowly, and stayed for 47 mins. I did under 2 miles, but was happy that I stayed on it that long. I normally walk 2-3 miles in 45 mins, but that is at a much faster pace. Took it slow, because as I said, I hate treadmill walking. I did read several chapters of a book on my Kindle FIre, tho'. Best wishes to all exercisers, and all us lapbanders. Karen
  16. Congrats and best wishes to all new comers! Karen

  18. I had surgery on Friday, and went to church on Sunday. I can't really remember how long before I was okay. But, since I had surgery on my stomach area, I did not drive for about 2 weeks. I am not sure that is necessary, but chose to do that. Best wishes, Karen
  19. Since you just had the fill, you may still be swollen. My surgeon says 2 days clear liquids and 2 days full liquids. Sip water and clear liquids, try warm water or unrefridgerated to make it go down better. Cold liqids sometimes are slow to go down because they shock us. Stress will casue tightness, too. Take cae, if you still have problems today or tomorrow, cal for a slight unfill. Best wishes, Karen
  20. According to my surgeon, you should never get the "full" feeling! You should get satisfied. We all need to learn to eat to live, not live to eat! Believe me, it is all a learning experience; after almost 3 years, I am still learing, or unlearing as the case may be. ANyway, you will tell teh full feeling most people wil belch a little or get a hiccup. If you eat more, you wil become uncomfortable with a tightness. Best wishes, and good luck with you rnew life! Karen
  21. Yeah! for NSV's! I remember the 1st time, well!
  22. I agree with NWgirl, you should get authorization from your surgeon for any working out. I was restricted for 2 weeks to only walking, then not lifting anything more than 10 lbs. I was not allowed to do situps, crunches, etc for 6 weeks. Best of luck, Karen
  23. Congrats on a great NSV!!!You so deserve it an dI am glad you bought it!!Karen
