  1. forgot to add just over three months out, and figured now would be a good time to start, plus financially I finally had the money LOL
  2. Well, I joined a gym and this morning had a session with a personal trainer. I woke up, ate a string cheese (as I don't eat much first thing in the mornings), and took off for the gym. He had me warm up on the treadmill for about 5 minutes, then we moved to the circuit machines (?) i think, where there were 4 machines for the upper body/ arms, and 4 machines for the lower body/ legs. did each machine 4 different times with attempting 10 reps on each. Finished by a good pace on the treadmill for 10 minutes. When I was done I was absolutely famished! I haven't exercised in years, and this was the first time I have done the whole gym experience, doesn't seem too bad other than I am bored out of my mind while on the treadmill. I can't stand it. My question for all you who are exercising, or gyming it, what do you eat before and after? I will email my nutritionist, however I wanted everyones input here. Thanks.
  3. whoo I will take a pair or two, now who wants my 22/24's?
  4. Hey texashopeful! I am in mesquite and 29, and I had surgery on June 15, 2010! i started my preop at 287, at 265 on surgery date, and at almost 7 weeks out about 243. It seems like its coming off slow compared to some others, however Just this week I was able to put on a 1x top and a size 20 jeans! It was quite exciting, i called and told everyone I know. at this point I would like to lose another 100 pounds, because I have curves, and honestly cant see myself at 120. Maybe when I am closer I will change my mind huh? good luck to all
  5. I had surgery the same day as you, however i was told to stop my birth control 2 weeks before surgery, and last week i was told i could start again when i have my next period...... only thing is ....... havent had one! not for 6 weeks, since i went of the bc before surgery. i think its because im losing weight because weight fluctuations can affect the menstral cycle.
  6. I had surgery on a tuesday and drove friday night, i just wish i had took a pillow for inbetween my tummy and the lap belt. I was able to drive and did, because i was stir crazy, but i went slow when i saw bumps and the next day I took a pillow.
  7. i work a physical job, and took 4 weeks off, my friend had it done, she was a mail carrier and took off 4 weeks too. right before i went back i realized i was bored, so 4 weeks was right on for me.
  8. just watch out for sneezing! I would cuss like a sailor when I sneezed for the first two weeks, that is the most painful thing i remember........
  9. my friend who had vsg got backed up and then had to go to doctor, it was because she wasnt getting enough liquid, and that made her stop going. so whenever I think I am i start drinking more water.
  10. i will be three weeks on tuesday, and just last night i was FINALLY able to ease on to my tummy to sleep! Now, if I could just flop back and forth I would be back to my old self! The flopping part causes soreness!
  11. listen, this was me 10 years ago, and when the first guy paid attention to me, i jumped in his boat. . . DONT DO IT! hahaha. I can laugh now but those couple of years were baddd and I refused to see it while in it. took as many years to get over it as i was in it! now i dont even look. someone will find me one day. it is their search not mine.
  12. the same happened to me, and at times it hurt pretty bad but it did go away. I think thats where the camera was and they were moving it all around in there.
  13. It seems odd they would require a higher bmi for sleeve than bypass. I would think it would be the other way around, oh well.
  14. wow, 12 pounds! thats good I was sleeved the same day as you and today I was only down 5 pounds from my surgery date weight! 12 pounds is great and maybe focus on that more than everything else, anyway its a positive thought, good luck
  15. Im not getting a shot, that was just to shots in general. Even in the hospital when they came at me with a needle I winced and looked away, i just dont like needles! cringing at the thought
