  1. Keep up the great work.... next thing you know you'll just be... muscles...
  2. so are you saying that i bother you because i said.... News flash?...... I NEVER said i knew it all and i will never say that.... I said i wish people with be happy for what they are accomplished and stop whining about only losing .... What every the amount is in a small amount of time... Just want people to be happy for what they have done and stop wanting to "wake up thin".... Are you one of the people that complained about losing weight slow? I lost weight slow... and never complained, i was happy for every pound. Why does what i wrote bother you?
  3. Wow...Tracie... that is great... keep up the great work, good job and i hope you continued success...
  4. What works best for me is to take a bit and put the fork or spoon DOWN.... This is good to practice too... it helps me to slow down and think about what im eating.
  5. OMG... that is wonderful.... Great job!!! Keep up the great work.
  6. Talk about bad timing.... i was on vacation for my last week of pre-op diet which was the first week in Nov. Had my surgery 11/10/09, so no thanksgiving turkey for me, but i did eat the Soup and some very very soft mashed potato...... By Christmas i was better and ate some soup and reg. mashed potatoes and some green bean casserole.. and i was full and happy. I say DO IT NOW...... your doing the same thing we all did before our surgery...... you remember the "i'll start my diet on Monday".... that's what your doing. No time like the present......
  7. No subway sandwich for me. I do eat the soup and i will get two scoops of tuna or the crab and eat it on crackers Wendy's chili is great..... i think for some reason, most Lb people can eat there chili.... go figure. Here are a few things i can eat when dinning out: I do well wit Pasta, so i order that alot, can't eat very much of it. Oh... i just remembered one fried food i do eat..... the shrimp at Hooters with the med. sauce. i can eat baked potatoes and eat that at most places.... outback i get the baked sweet potato. I either order a Water or lemon aid. i'll take a few sips before my meal, but never with my meal and i take the rest home for later if it lemon aid.... water i leave there. I still drink my Mt. Dew..... sorry, i just can't help it. It takes me all day, but i drink a small can per day. the things i really miss.......... Hamburger on a bun, french fires, wings from Wing Stop, Philly steak sandwich at Hooters, Steak at Outback.... Things i do eat most everyday: i start my day with a cup of coffee, then i take 10 crackers and two wedges of the Laughing Cow cheese and eat that for Breakfast. That normally takes me into lunch and i will eat a baked potato or chili from Wendy's, tuna from Subway or a frozen meal. Snack a few more crackers. dinner is normally some kind of soup or potato, very moist chicken or losely packed hamburger cooked med., or some type of pasta. Treat for the night.... the single serving of Blue Bell ice Cream... that it... i'm done.
  8. My point exactly.... jacob
  9. Hey Skinnygirl.... Can you believe that it's almost two years? As of today i have lost 80lbs. I started at 223 and today i weighed in at 143, but i fluctuate from 140-143. Beginning size was 18-20 and now i'm at a size 6-8. Shirt size was 2xl, now i'm at a large... my bra size started at 44G and now i'm at a 36FFF. oh... and my feet have shrunk too.....hehe... was a 71/2-8.... now 6 1/2 - 7. Enough about sizes..... i would sell my soul to the devil for a tummy tuck....lol All in all i feel great and i'm so glad i did LB. having a few other issues, but on the relationship end... Write back
  10. I don't do bread... but i do eat crackers. (Crunchmaster's Multi-seed crackers) OMG Good. I eat them most everyday you can buy them at Sams Club. I do celery if its purred or cooked (from the south celery is a must to any great dish) I don't do pizza.. at first i could eat it, but i chose not too....(i do sometimes eat the toppings) I have tried to do tortillas, not good for me. But if they are fried crunchy... then i can eat them I can eat breaded items, but i chose not too... Eating fried EVERYTHING (again being from the south) is how i got to 223. I can't do steak anymore... and left over anything gives me trouble, ice burg lettuce gives me trouble, but i can eat mixed salad baby greens. But like with everything, do your research, and do your best to stay away from the "bad" things. My biggest problem is ice cream... omg... I LOVE LOVE LOVE ICE CREAM..... Guess what, it goes down soooo easy. Remember.... every one is different. Good luck with your journey...
  11. No i didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed..... just tired of some people coming on here posting that they are not losing weight even though it has only been a short time that they had LB surgery...... I also had great pre-band education.... but I also did a lot of research and talked to people at support groups and i listen when they talked. This kind of statement gets under my skin:........(this is just made up, but you get were im coming from) I had my surgery 3 months ago and i have only lost 50lbs....... REALLY! only 50 pounds... could you have lost it if you had not had LB surgery.... probably, but not in three months and could you keep it off... probably not... so i guess what i'm really getting at is .......... be grateful and stop whining..... if your not losing weight, do some self reevaluation......look at what your eating or not eating.... look at the exercise your doing or not doing....... look with in, don't just count on the band to do it all. There are people out there who would give anything to have the opportunity that we have had. To have this surgery was a complete God send to me. And some people have the surgery and never use it the way it was intended. Or think they will wake up thin....
  12. I come on here at least once a day or every couple days....... and i keep reading the same thing..... I HAD THE SURGERY __ MONTHS AGO AND I'M STILL FAT. What did some of you think that you wold have WLS and the next day wake up THIN..... NEWS FLASH....!!!!! It doesn't work that way... you have to still watch EVERY THING you eat (even more now), you still have to get up off your rear end and exercise..... LB surgery is not a SURE THING.... You have to work at it, and it takes time. So the next time you start to post ...... i've only lost.__ pounds, remember you still have LOST WEIGHT... be happy and grateful. Work your tool and be grateful that you were able to have this procedure done in the first place.... Think of all the people who can't because of one reason or the other...... I means it one thing to complain about hitting a plateau when you are near the end.... but right at the beginning is when you are learning HOW TO EAT.... so give it time... one of the reasons that the dr. fills the band slow is so you can learn how to "re-eat". Remember to follow the rules and do your part and the tool will help you succeed..... Thanks and have wonderful.... Lapband day.
  13. I don't know.... i pressed the App icon on my iphone and typed in my lap-band and it came right up.... sorry, hope you are able to find it.
  14. try a search for My Lap-band...... not all one word.
  15. So are you all aware of the new..... FREE iphone app...... My Lap-Band. I down loaded it yesterday.... go look it up.
  16. LovelyT..... that was lovely. You wrote how i think 99% of us felt, so know that you are not alone. And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU..... today is the BIRTH of the NEW YOU.....the happier, healthier, slimmer & more confident ..... you. Good luck and know we are all her to support you.
  17. My first suggestion to you is ...... go find a WLS support group. The people there will be able to answer most every question you have. It will either put your mind at ease or tell you that WLS is not for you. Throwing up does NOT mean a slipped band..... if she throws up everything... Water, spit, food with sever pain..... that's a slipped band. So the question now is when is she throwing up.... first thing in the morning right as she gets out of bed? After she has coffee? food? I find that i can't eat right when i get up, i have to wait till about 9 or so and after coffee..... the HOT coffee helps things go down easier. Were are you getting the information the bandsters are never supposed to throw up? I have never never met one that has NOT thrown up. Eating with the band is a learning process. We find out what we can and can't eat by eating them...... Sometimes things go well, sometimes not. On the nots, sometimes it has to come back up. It's just the way it is. I had to learn the hard way that i can't eat Steak anymore. Some bansters have no trouble with Steak... This of course is just an example. But i hope you get the picture. EVERYONE'S experiences with the band is different. What works for me, may not work for anyone else. You just have to do your research and listen to your doctor............ BUT MOST OF ALL LISTEN TO YOUR BAND..... It has taken me almost two years to lose 80-83lbs... why, because i chose to take it slow.... I do have issues still with my self esteem and relationship problems. But i will work them out. Right now i'm having to comes to grips with people telling me to STOP losing weight.... I still see the FAT girl in the mirror. Hope you all the best of luck what ever your choice may be.
  18. and the bottom line is this is your life, your choice. was it hard for you to lose the weight you have already lost. can you maintain the weightloss or will you gain it all back ... plus some? what about other health issues.... do you have any?
  19. I never took meds before, but most of the people have been either able to stop completely or ween them down considerable. I really could use an anti depressant... and that's no joke. The emotional roller coaster you go on is so up and down. i'm going thru a bit od depression right now. Especially after my husband said i'm starting to look like a bag of bones.... insert knife.
  20. hope you all the success in the world. Befriend AliOneTrackizTheBizness she did the same thing you are doing and has had tremendous success with GB. This is her Blog....: http://theskinnygirl...y.blogspot.com/ This

need more information... were you denied? I had United Health care and these are the test i had done: Cardiogram, bar-am swallow, i saw a nutritionist, and nurse and a phyc. eval. I'm 5'2.5" my start weight was 223lbs..... no other health issues. Just over weight. Approved on the first letter. My dr. compiled all the test results and sent it in all at one time. Testing started in mid Aug. 2009 and i was approved Oct. 2009. Banded 11/10/09.... Current weight: 145lbs I say get with your dr. and push push push...... keep on them. Let them know about UHC's plan... maybe they can hurry it along. Good luck
  22. at first i told people.... then i started getting the "look". The you too the easy way out look... so i stopped and when people asked i told them i exercise and watch what i eat... it is the truth after all. Now I pick and choose the people i tell... Good luck

Like someone else, my dr. gave me a temp card and i then got one in the mail. A lot of restaurants do honor the card.... some do not. Most will allow you to order off the the kids menu, but hardly any will allow me to eat off the buffet with out paying full price. I just order off the menu is i can and if not... i don't go there anymore. My local Golden Corral won't honor it. I think i will write the main office about that.... humm Anyway, buffets are what got all of us to the state we are/were in.... so no more buffets for me.
  24. NYdad..... this is just my personal opinion, but, not a good idea to get all that at once. I go on the chat site and for the most part people who have had huge fills at once... normally have to get an Unfill not long after. Filling the band slowly so your stomach, body and mind have time to adjust. I'm almost two years out and i too at firs wanted to hurry up and be thin, but my dr. explained to me that if i want the best results in the long run.... it's better to go at it slow......You want to be the tortoise and NOT the hare.. banded 11/10/09..... start weight 223, height 5'2".............now 146.......14cc band with 10.9 cc in it..... but it took 7 fills to get to that. Best of luck.....
  25. With out a doubt..... i would do it again tomorrow. if you both get it done, don't get upset when he loses faster than you.... because he will....it's just the way it goes. Wishing you both all the best of luck....
