Another E-Mail Debunked
Oh, you must mean that the ones that were already in circulation are selling from individuals, like on EBay, right? Not that the government is selling them. That would be a good way for them to make a little extra money on us, huh?

Another E-Mail Debunked
Where the heck am I every time one of these dadblamed mistakes happens! Those coins will be worth a whole lot more than $50 one day! I am surprised they sold them, they usually gather them all back in, don't they?

Another E-Mail Debunked
My nephew brought me one a few weeks ago. It says, "In God We Trust" on the edge, like someone suggested. So no reason for anyone to get their tights in a wad. Except perhaps for some of us older citizens - they need to make the fine print, MUCH LESS FINE!

HELP PLEEEEZE! Mexico or Denver?

Red Lobster Warning -- ADULTS ONLY
I'm pretty sure there are some fake boob jobs that aren't horribly obvious, but the ones that are so awful make you want to PB (so to speak). But I've never once heard a guy make a disparaging remark about a chick with fake ones. In fact, my DH has even said, "Oh those aren't fake, how can you tell they're fake?" And the clear outline of the implant is apparent, while the rest of her body is skin and bones. No wonder women can get the upper hand so easily sometimes. (pun intended) Am I the only one who has been grossed out more than once by Tori Spelling's?

George Bush: Worst American president in history
Our ability to save the wounded means exactly what this article is saying and the impact on the wounded and their families, as well as society, is a horrendous legacy of the Bush administration. This war is about economics and greed. The greedy folks who support this war, who don't want to help anyone with tax money, could never equate the money spent in Iraq with helping anyone. They think that the weak and infirm should help themselves. Or at least beg for it in a private way instead of through any government programs. Says a lot about the kind of people they are, doesn't it?

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Cblancha9 and Butterflylover: I think you're the first two I've read about here who are as old as I am. I'm a little younger, but not so as anyone would notice, that's for sure! If your doctor has more experience with bypass, and he's seen good results, he probably is motivated to go with what he knows will work. Bypass has been around a lot longer and there are more doctors who have learned that procedure - many of them are just now embracing the lap band. There are a couple of reasons why I chose Lap Band and in fact, I would probably never have chosen bypass. The surgery itself (Lap Band) is usually less invasive although I've heard that there are some doctors who are attempting the bypass procedure with a laproscopic technique. The Lap Band is reversible. If you have a problem for any reason, it can be adjusted or removed. Not true with bypass. It is a permanent fix and the complications can be worse. With the Lap Band, the expectation is to lose gradually over a period of 2 years. This is a much more healthy way to take off pounds. Your body can go through the adjustments of your losses during the slower process without thinking that it is starving to death. I've seen so many bypass patients who have lost tons of weight but then regain a lot of it. With Lap Band patients, I have noticed that they initially lose a good chunk and then the loss slows but the loss continues. What most of us are wanting to do is not regain the weight. I suppose if they get the bypass just exactly perfect to your particular body, maybe you won't regain the weight, but I think part of the problem is having your body think it is starving and anxious to eat so that it can get all the nutrients and body fat that it's used to. I am sure there are more differences, but I'm no expert. You really have to make your own decision and listen to everything the experts tell you. Even after you learn about both procedures, you have to decide for yourself what is best for YOU. You're the one who has to go through the surgery, and you're the one who will have to do the work afterwards. Because no matter which approach you take, after the surgery the ball will be in your court to make sure that you take full advantage of the step you've taken to become healthy. I too wish I had been able to get the Lap Band years ago. But I know I still have some QUALITY time left here on earth and I want to not miss another minute feeling like an outsider who is ashamed to be seen in public. I want to stop worrying about food and start enjoying life! Stop worrying about getting diabetes, stop all the medications for High BP, high Cholesterol, crazy tryglicerides, etc. Best of luck to both of you! You're to be commended for taking steps to get yourself healthy! Keep us posted on your journey. I am sure this forum will be as big a help to you as it's been for me.

Anti-Semitism In France!
Greed, inspired by the devil in the guise of religion. The Bible tells us about them.

Anti-Semitism In France!
letheag: I would agree, except for the fact that they've read our Father's good book, supposedly are experts in interpreting the Bible, so I have to wonder about who really motivates them..... Since they become so rich and tell us that wealth is supposed to be a good thing, all I can come up with is GREED. Especially since so many of them are mean to their fellow humans in the process.

Anti-Semitism In France!
How do these people get away with being so extreme in the name of Christianity? Greed is a very ugly thing. They want power because of greed. And their followers keep pumping the coffers full every week and believing...

Whew! I sure don't want to go too overboard. My kids tell me I push the limits sometimes. Heck, girls just want to have fun. Right? I love to joke around and just get too carried away, especially when things get a little off-color. Glad you aren't writing me off as a bad person.

My daughter worked at a restaurant once (upscale) and I asked if this was an urban myth or if it really happened. She said that in her restaurant, the manager was in the kitchen much of the time and he would kill anyone who even thought about doing something like that. But I'm sure it is absolutely true for some restaurants. Who wants to take a chance on something like this?

HELP PLEEEEZE! Mexico or Denver?
Lap Dancer: Several years ago I had some plastic surgery in Orlando. When my doctor found out that it wasn't a procedure covered by my insurance, he cut the bill in half! I was in shock for a while over that one! So it can happen in the states too, but probably not as often. U.S. docs have to pay so much malpractice insurance, plus staffing their offices and all that entails, there just isn't as much to play with as in some other countries. I wonder if you could call the U.S. doctor and tell them your delimma and ask if there is ever a case where he does some cutting and snipping of costs.
