  1. I'm so glad you broke that stall Lucy!
  2. Nicole, I'm keeping you and your family close in my thoughts. I hope that you all get through today. Please take care of yourself today and cry as much as you need. Piatti's had good food in Yountville. That was 10 years ago before they exanded. We used to go there for the best lightly fried calamari around. That fried word doesn't work for you anymore, but for the others, yum. I'm space brained. Can't remember what anyone else wrote. Last night watching Biggest Loser, it occured to me that my surgery is a week from Monday. Holy freakin Moly! I hadn't put that together yet. Last night at 1:30 I was still wide wide wide awake. Then at 5:30 when the alarm went off.... dead tired. I just told myself I'd be able to sleep alot in a week. I'd better get my act together to go meet coco and john. Talk later...
  3. Good morning Bambi, I'm thinking about you and sending you healing energy. I hope things went ok for you. Post when you're able to let us know how you're doing please. :crying:
  4. Amy, I'm so glad you're on the other side. From what I've read, it will keep getting better and better now. Congratulations!
  5. Nicole and John, See you in class tomorrow! Surgery date - February 8th with Dr. Im. Dr. Baggs wasn't available until mid-March. I'm happy with my decision!
  6. Tamra, please make sure you get to the Wednesday night support groups. You're going to do great if you can stay focused on keeping your Band happy. I've been reading and re-reading the food stages so that when surgery gets here, I'll know exactly what I can eat. I'm not seeing french fries anywhere on the list of acceptable foods. For me, being a compulsive eater, what I've learned is that if I open the door a crack (like 1 french fry), tomorrow it will be two. The only way for me to keep the food in it's rightful place is to not go there. I was a vegan for 9 years not too long ago. During that 9 years I never had a bite of sugar. I knew that 1 bite and I'd be face down in a chocolate cake. So please try to get rid of those thoughts of "when can I have". They won't do anything to help you achieve your goal of being a healthy, slim woman.
  7. Nicole, I'm so sorry to read about this tragedy in your family. I can't imagine the pain and shock you're all feeling right now. Please try to step away from the food and call a friend instead. Talk it out. Cry, scream and talk about about it. Stuffing it down with food will only harm yourself. Baby Aud needs you to be present with her as people around her are freaking out. Keep a safe space for the two of you. Sending hugs your way.
  8. Thanks Lebyvr! I'm hoping I don't have scar tissue as it was only a few months ago.
  9. Thanks for sharing those images. I love to see the new Sleeve, 5 year Sleeve and normal stomach all side by side for comparison. How much does a normal "no surgery" stomach hold?
  10. Yes, please post a review. I'd love to know if the Sleeve is included. There's a few books out now that are for RNY and Band, but not Sleeve.
  11. Bernadette, ditto on what Cajun said. I wouldn't wait. Get yourself taken care of. Let us know how you're doing please. Barbara, how are you doing this morning? I'm sending healing thoughts to you both this morning.
  12. Yes, I'm the same Lee! There was a bunch of stuff over at ObesityHelp about sending messages to facebook etc, so I changed my name to Bella everywhere. My son calls me Bella. Pat, it's so wonderful to see you up and about. Keep walking!
  13. Hello, I've tried Sparkpeople, DailyPlate, Fitday.com. Tried them all but then Tiffy recommended Myfitnesspal.com and I switched to that. I think it's the best of the bunch. Easy to use, no ads, all of the Protein is already in there. Much less cumbersome than any of the others.
  14. Tamra, go to that natural food store on Monument and ask for a Homeopathic remedy called Carbo Vegetabilis. It comes in a very small tube and is filled with tiny little balls that look like candy. Pop 5 under your tongue and let them dissolve. After my gallbladder surgery, that's all I needed. You can take them 3x a day or whenever the gas pain starts. I was told I could put some in my drinking water and sip it all day. I just popped a few if my shoulder started to twinge and whala... pain gone! Pat, I'm so happy to hear that you're home and everything went well. Ditto what Candra said, post when you can. Check out my signature line. Nicole, I'm hoping, praying to be in that class with you and John on Thursday!
  15. Dear Pat, wishing you well this morning. You go girl!
  16. Hi JC, I'm still pre-op, so clueless but from what I've heard in support group meetings that I attend, they say to take up a craft or become an exerciser. Find a passion to replace the hours we used to spend thinking about food, planning food, cooking food and eating food. For me that's a lot of head time to fill. I think I'll probably be walking and reading more post-op.
  17. Congratulations! You must be very happy!!
  18. Good good good good good luck! Sending wonderfully healing thoughts your way for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery! Keep in touch and please let us know how you're doing, as soon as you're able. We'll all be here waiting for you.
  19. Bashful, Welcome to VST. I'm going through the Kaiser Richmond (north) program. I think Kaiser has a great program to get us ready for our new Sleeve life. While there's tons of great information on the net, I think it's important to follow our Surgeon's instructions as they have to take care of us both pre and post-op. You'll do just fine!
  20. Welcome Christabel! VST is a great website of caring, helpful people. You've come to the right place to research and ask questions. Good luck at your appointment today!
  21. Good Luck tomorrow morning Mini!! Sending healing energy your way!
  22. I had my gallbladder out 11/2/2009. For anyone that's had it out, as well as being Sleeved, how do the two surgeries compare in recovery time etc.
  23. Lee replied to OMG123's topic in Food and Nutrition
Has anyone found Mootopia in California? I thought I would use the Trader Joe's unsweetened Soymilk with 3 carbs after surgery. I don't use any milk now but was scoping it out for later to puree things etc.
  24. Nicole, That is so exciting. Only two weeks away. YAY! You must really be rockin. How cool that your mom is going to come stay with you and help you. That will be so great to have her comfort close to you. I'm really proud of you and how great you're handling all of this!
