  5. Ohh and also, I was thinking about the Band as well. But when I went to the orientation @ Kaiser Fremont, the surgeon specifically said that 1 out of every 5 people who get the band will have some sort of complication with in the first 5 years. And he said that the Band is not meant to be a life long devise. When he said that I realized that I did not want to lose all my weight just to have to keep going under the knife so to speak just to maintain.
  6. Hi Chrissy, I'm from the Band site, and Lee also showed me this Sleeve site as well. I will be getting the Sleeve as soon as I lose the last of my 10%.... Hopefully next moth I will be on the losers bench. I am dealing with Kaiser Fremont, a little different then Richmond. However I can attest to what Lee said, you might not get your surgeon apt. on the day of orientation. But start losing your weight now because they account for your weight with the PCP as well and it is normally 10% of your weight.
  7. Tam-Tam-today looks like it was a great food day!!!!
  8. Lee, how are the non flavored protein powders that you mix in your water?
  9. Mo- call me girlie!!! Tam-Tam- Thanks!!!! I would love to catch a ride with you and Mo!
  10. Lol Candra you are too funny! What are fiber wraps? Reggie i desprately need your chicken recipe, the one you made when we all came over a while back! This morning I was 229!!!!! 4 more lbs to goal. So I called and talked to the apt. mgr and she said she will put my file on Dr. Chu's desk but to make sure that I go down and get an official weigh in to prove I'm at goal when it happens. I have someone I meet recently who was sleeved by Dr. Chu and she said that she was in pain too... Kinda scary :scared2:

Things are ok over here, I kinda hit a wall with the weight los, still have thoes pesky 7 lbs. :smile2: But I'm working realy hard on lowering my carbs. I was at the ER for 4 hrs. last night with my son who ran a 103.2 fever. All I can say is Antioch Kaiser ER needs to get their stuff together. the good news is he is ok. I hope all of you are doing well. I'm looking foward to my apt. on Thurs.

  18. Morning! My son did well this morning, we goy home about an hr. ago. He is still lopy and grumpy from the meds but happy to be home :w00t: Thanks everyone for your good thoughts!!!! On a side note the admiting nurse wanted to charge me the $1,775 deductable for the surgery and I told her that I will only pay $175 and she can bill me the rest And it worked so I will be doing the same for my surgery! so 7.5 lbs left ...
  19. LOL Lee, We where posting at the same time  I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. How is your pain? Do you still not feel hunger?
  20. Hi Everyone! It sounds like you all had fun  I wish I could have been there, but we where @ Oakland for lunch & Monster Jam to celebrate my son's 2nd birthday! Both my boys are car/truck fans so this was fun for them. I was back down to 232.5 this AM so almost there again LOL! My 2 year old is getting his ear tubes in the morning so say a prayer for him  I know it is a simple procedure, but it is a procedure none the less. I want to go to the next meetings so can some one get me all the info? Thanks. I hope you are all doing well!
  21. Mo- I'm going tonight so text me later and I will give you the info. Last night was not good for me food wise. It was my baby's 2nd b-day so we had cupcakes, pasta (whole wheat) Garlic bread and salad. But I sent the extra cupcakes with the hubby on his way to work so they will not be here to tempt me. I have been going on the tready for 40 min. in the mornings so I supose even with the poor food choices I am maintaining. But I need to lose  I'm back down to 234 naked in the AM on my scale. So 9 lbs. to go. this AM I did have some left over garlic bread this am, but now I am about to throw it in the garbage...
  22. Riley-Happy Bandiversary! Heather- I know that you can make that goal the the Dr. set for you, but I still think that you should ask him to reevaluate it. Lee-Thanks for askin about my baby, he is doing better. The surgery is 3/1 @ 8 AM Mo- The Antioch WLS meeting is this Wed. *Side note, this AM I was back up to 235.5. I need you all to help make me more acountable for what I am eating... I know that I can loes these 10lbs. and then some so I get my surgery date ASAP. So text me or remind me on here to tell you guys what I am eating please :frown: This AM was milk Muscel Light 100 cal. 1/4 cup roasted Soy Beans 130 Cal.'s Lunch is gona be Atkins Shake & a 1/2 Banana....
  23. Aura, I too have the sam concerns as you. I think that we are both in the same position in life, as i am 26 with 2 young baby boys. I'm 5'4" and as of today 232.5 lbs. I want to live the longest life posible. When I first started researching WLS the band was my first thought as well. But that was soon ruled out. And Tiffykins helped me in researching gastrectomies as well. Some day's I have major doubts becasue most people arround me think that I don't need this and can lose the weight on my own. But support groups help me to get over these anxieties. You know then best thing I can say is the longest life span information on the web for gastrectomies that I have found is 30 years and that person is still living. All be it, I am sure there are more people out there that are just not posting on the chat boards. So with that said, there are no guarantees in life, if you don't end up loessing the weight on your own and even gaining then you are lessening your lifespan. Just how I have rationalized my thoughts on this process. But if you need to talk I would be glad to!
  24. Mo- So happy for you! Tamra - Great job today  Ali- What is your pre-op goal?
  25. Lee I know I already let you know that I am proud of you on the LB site but I thought I would tell you here too :001_smile: Glad you are home and doing well!
