Chrissy- Congrats!!!!!!!!! I hope you feel better. Lee- I love your thinking!!!! I just know you will make your goals that you set  Riley, how are you hun? I am doing well, not so much nervous any more as i am afraid I wont be able to have the surgey (which is in 5 days!) because I like I am on ther verge of getting a cold. No real symptoms, just slight head aches/pressure but very small. No runny nose, a tiny bit stuffed if i lay down but it goes away quick. I did not get much sleep the last couple nights, and yesterday I walked around the zoo all day with my son for his field trip. I don't normally have allergies, but since i have no cough I'm wondering if I am experiencing them. In any event I have over loaded my self with Vitamin C and tons of water.

Pam, honey do what is going to help you and make you healthy and happy. If I could afford to do that program I would have done so a long time ago. But I don't even spend that much on groceries for my family of 4 ( I love couponing lol). I am happy for you  Tam you crack me up with you band being a man lol! Tina, funny that you say that about Sharon osborn, cause i know when they did a "behind the music" show they talked about her having bypass. So maybe she had bypass then got the band latter...since she had bypass well over 10 years ago. Hmmm. I have been re-reading my book that Fremont Kaiser gave me and I found a part in there where they talk about the band and getting fills. It specifically says in there that a Kaiser patient will not always get a fill when they go in for an apointment for one, and that it is up to the Dr.'s discression. Hmmm food for thought huh. I hope you are all doing well, we need to plan another get together I need more support groups for sure lol, oh and 7 more days and I will be sleeved lol!

Pam I too looked into the optifast program that Kaiser offers. And I was so disgusted in the price they told me, $4,500 ! I have less to pay with the sleeve (3k) and they will bill me for it too! But I hope it works well for you. I know plenty of people who have lost a lot of weight with it.

Tam-Tam, sorry that you are stugleing girly, hang in there! Candra, I talked to my surgeon today about the sleeve stretching and she said that it dose stretch slightly but not a lot. And the loss of the hunger hormon only last for a year in most casses. Christine, good job on the weight loss after baby! Can't wait to get to know you, Dex is cute :w00t: I went to my pre-opp apt today and it went well. All of my test clear me for surgery on the 25th, 11 more days! Fremont Kaiser doesn't give a relaxation CD, just the bar of medicated soap to wash your self with the day before surgery lol! Mo, where you been girl!!!

Pat, Kaiser Fremont doesnt have a pre-op class just an apt. with the Dr. which I have this Friday. So I don't think that they give out the relaxation tapes that you guys got @ Richmond. I still don't know how the ultrasound results are yet for the gallbladder but I'm sure i will find out on Friday. I hope everyone is doing great, 13 more days until mu surgery.

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Ughhhh! I am so frustrated right now. I am #14 on the waiting list for a surgery date and may not get to the front of the line until the beginning of July.....They are booked all of May, and the max # of patients they take each month is 12. I am on the cancellation list but there are a ton of people a head of me on that too. I am already having a heard time maintaining my current weight loss, and I wanted to have surgery before it gets too hot this summer I'm starting to think that with all these hurdles I keep going through with insurance issues, GERD and so forth that it is a sign that I should not do the surgery lol, although I know that I am and have been having a hard time loosing weight as it is and I don't want to be this heavy anymore It's so sad

Thanks Chrissy I almost positive that I'm going to go through with the sleeve. i have been researching all night and it seems as though it's a 50/50 consensus on weather the sleeve agitates the pre-existing GERD. The funny thing is last night I had a small episode!

Thank you everyone for your replies. Since the Dr. told me this I have been researching like a mad women lol! She is leaving the choice up to me. I am very much opposed to RNY. So at this point it's Sleeve or bust lol! I know that she said the case mgr. would call me for my surgery and class apt. with in a couple of days, and that she has already approved me for surgery. So I will be thinking about this up until the day of surgery for sure! I woke up this morning and I was 223.5! I need to update my ticker. That was 4.5 lbs since Friday!!!! I can't wait till we have our meeting on the 24th!!! I have lots of cloths to give

Dr. Chu called me this afternoon to go over my barium swallow. She said that they did not see a hernia and that my anatomy mapped out well. But then she did say that they detected that I have moderate to sever Acid Reflux Disease. Weird as I haven't really experienced much more then occasional heartburn late at night. She did tell me that with this latest tid bit of information that she would prefer me to have gastric bypass, as she said that the sleeve (and the band) could make it worse, but I reminded her that with bypass I can not take my NSAID (sp?) like Advil or Alieve for pain because I am allergic to acetaminophen.... Then she asked me if my symptoms have gotten better as I lost weight and I told her if by symptoms she meant my occasional heart burn then yes, as I haven't had any in so long that I don't remember the last time. So I asked her what would I do if I started getting symptoms after the sleeve or if it was bad, as she said they would go back in and do a bypass (basically the DS).... Thats a lot to think about  John / Lee, did either of you have acid reflux before your sleeves?

Orientation
Hi Lydia! I'm with Fremont Kaiser. The looked at my weight history @ the surgeons apt. as well as my weight on the day of orientation. I got my orientation date 3 weeks after my referral. Then it's all up to you to lose the 10% ASAP lol! I know that Fremont Kaiser is 1 month out on scheduling surgeries once you reach goal.

Thanks everyone! I just got off the treadmill-walked for 2 miles. I am drinking as much as I can. I have to do the Barium Swallow before surgery to see if I have a hernia. The Dr. suspects that I may have one as a result of my first pregnancy. Weird though. I think that I would rather know before hand too. Lee- I remember you saying that they repaired one for you. Thats good that they are able to fix it at the same time huh!
