  1. Hi John, it's always nice to see you pop in and say hi :scared2: Annalyn, sorry to hear you have been sick. April, good to see you on here too. Tam & Christine, I glad you both got fills! Hi Nicolie !!!!! It's so funny you where on the phone when I was visiting Chrissy :scared2: I'm glad you are doing well and happy to see you post. I can't wait for the pic's of your new place. Sherri congrats on the date :scared2: Becca I hope your apt. gose well. Stacey you usely get a letter confirming your referal within a week or two of it being sent by your PCP. I know that I called and asked for the earliest "orientation" date! I am doing much better day by day. I saw Chrissy at the hospital last night and she was looking well. I talked to her tonight and she was notfeeling good after the long ride home  Hopefully a good sleep and her heating pad will do the trick. I will keep you all posted!
  2. Congrats Ali!!!! On a side note, Chrissy is having her surgery today, lets all wish her an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!!!
  3. yeah Nicolie you can use meetup.com
  4. Cole83, I just had my sleeve surgery on the 25th and I have 2 little ones - 2 & 3.5 year olds. I needed help the first 2 weeks for the 2 year old to be put in his car seat, but other then that they where okay. I was given the go ahead to lift them up at my 2 week post op apt. but to just lift with my legs. Before then I just had them use a stool or something to climb up higher to me on my bed or on the couch if they could not reach. You will be just fine.
  5. I never said July-you talkin to some one else? lol
  6. Yeah Chrissy
  7. I think I'm the only one here going through Fremont Kaiser, but I am sure they all pretty much use the same system.
  8. Will do as soon as I talk to her. I googled it and it comes up as gas, or acid reflux. But being that I just had surgery I don't want to just assume something lol!
  9. Or maybe it is because of my hiatal hernia that was repaired when I had my VSG?
  10. Is that normal? To have a random sharp pain under my left boob / left side of my chest? I'm 2 weeks out and over the last few days I randomly get this pain. Sometimes when I eat and sometimes even when I'm just sipping fluids. Has anyone else felt this? I am so freaked out over leaks, could this be a sign? I don't have a temperature, so what is everyone's opinions? I'm gonna call my surgeon in the AM but was looking to see what you all think.
  11. Welcom Cole, I too have a 2 year old and a 3 year old! Have fun Lee! Mo I feel you pain with the CT scan. I'm gonna call you soon!!! But congrats on the 8's. We have to go to that shop here by my house as soon as I lose 8 more lbs lol! I am feeling much better and back on track. Fremont kaiser is much different in food stages then Richmond. Our stage 2 starts the day you leave the hospital and inclueds purees and mushies for 2 weeks. I had my post op apt. last Friday about 4 days before my actual 2 week surgiversary and the dr. wanted to advance ma and I was like no way, I will wait another week for soft foods because of my set back last week I only have 9 more lbs to be @ 199! Hopefuly in two weeks, since I am loseing about 5 lbs. a week right now. I hope you are all doing well. When are we meeting up again?
  12. I am in the same boat as you, no matter what I do I burp. Al be it I am only about two weeks out :001_cool:
  13. Hi everyone, Just a quick update here as my energy level is low. I went in for a PCP apt. yesterday morning for a sore throat and possible thrush on my tung. They had a real hard time getting my blood pressure read and when they finally did it was really low, I think 90/70 (not quite sure) so they sent me to the ER where they did a ton of test, chest ex ray, CT scans, and pumped me full of fluids in-case I was dehydrated. I spent 9 hrs. there and they finally said that I have hospital pneumonia, that I must have gotten it from having surgery, but that did not explain the throat and possible Thrush issues. I am home and resting, feeling a tad bit better, but tons of coughing that hurts my incisions  They did test for strep and that cam back negative. I did check on obesityhelp.com and a lot of sleevers complained about "thrush" from the antibiotics in surgery, so maybe thats what or why, although the ER Dr. was positive that it was not likely lol! Welcome to the board Acaaew! Sending well wishes your way Analynn :wink2: Glad you are back John. Candra, Reggie, Mo, Chrissy, Tam-Tam, Pat, Pam, Tina, and anyone else I missed, hope you are ALL well
  14. Ali, I know to me it sounds like alot (they said between 1/4 to 1/2) and that I am constantly eating. Plus the pain meds and the rules with the stomach coater and now my sore throat I don't think I will ever get it all down.
  15. Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great Sunday. I on the other hand have a sore throat that started yesterday. It's making it hard to get my liquids in unless they are Popsicle or warm tea and broth. Last night I did get in all of my protein dring but was uncomfortable after that, and about 32 oz of fluid. But not able to do much more. The plan that the nutritionist @ Fremont Kaiser gave me said to do 64 oz of clear fluid (duh) but also 2-3 scoops of protein shake and 3 meals @ 1/2 cups (like cream soups or yogurt or pudding) and honestly I feel like it is too much for me to handle right now :cursing:
  16. Hey everyone, Chrissy had her filter stent procedure today and is finally back home. The put it in through her neck and it hurt real bad The whole thing sucked, cause there where no pain meds.
  17. Sad for you Tam-Tam, I hope you get your fill when you finally get an apt. Thanks Lee, John and Ali. I am full of questions, but I will take it one step at a time. So here is the most pressing question I have: I feel as though I have a bottom less pit for a stomach on the full liquids stage. Although I am not hungry, I can literally eat all of the portions that they have written out in the stage 2 diet. I don't go over, and I take my sweet time because I am fearful that the gas/constant burping will rupture my staple line (is that even possible?) But I feel as though I could eat all day. Is that because liquids are sliding right through me?
  18. Hi everyone. I got home last night. My insicions are a lot of pain. I have been useing a heating pad alot. I'm also having a hard time slowly sipping because I keep burping. Any advise Lee, John, or Ali? I made my hubby put the recliner in our room and I slept on it. It seemed to help I take my meds every 4 hrs. and become really sleepy right after. I've got lots of help with my boys but I'm getting adjitated that I can't really spend time with them. Please pray for me that I will heal fast. Thanks everyone!
  19. Hi everyone. I'm not home yet but am able to go online with my mini net book. I'm still verry tired so please excuse my bad spelling lol. I promiss to fill you all in on my Fremont Kaiser Experience when I can keep my eys open longer :smile2: Thank you all so much for you thoughts, well wishes and prayers. Chrissy, Mo and Lee - you girls have all been my rock! Luv you girls- all of you and John too! Ps- Chrissy LMAO ! Trust me there is more to the story then the midgets and unicorns lol! But please don't post the pics  Thank you for updatint the group too! Bout to go nighty night again so I will talk latter
  20. Thanks everyone for the well wishes!!! John you crack me up :tongue2: Lee, I can't wait to join you on the losers bench, I know there is room since you all are shrinking anyways! Where is Candra? Miss you girl Riley, so glad you are doing well
  21. Pam- I have to take the Magnesium Citrate per my Dr., which I am starting right now LOL! Thanks John, I'm gonna have the hubby text Chrissy and Mo and one if not both will log on and let you all know if I don't feel up to it.
  22. Congrats on the loss Ali! I called and they told me as long as I do not have a fever and am coughing up mucus then I should be ok and to come in as scheduled, 8:30 AM. So I am on clear liquids all day to day and supposed to start the Magnessium Citrate at lunch time.
  23. Happy Birthday Mo! I am waiting for kaiser to open @ 8:30 so I can call them and tell them that I have been stuffy off and on this whole week and if they want to cancel for tomarow or not. I was fine on Saturday, but yesterday was horible. I will let you all know as soon as i find out what the verdict is. :tongue2:
  24. Thats a good challenge Lee! I am gonna have to join you if all goes as planned on Tuesday  Did you use Gas X Strips after surgery? Ok 3 more days people!!!!! Start giving me list of what I need to bring, do ect. I took body pictures last night and it totally reminded me of a major reason that I am doing this. I am going to do measurements as well. Then I am going to make a private blog for me to track my goals. Any other ideas?
