HI. i am about 4 months out and since surgery i have lost less that 30lbs..I just had my second fill lastweek so i am hoping that and working out 3 times a week will do the trick. have i been 100% complient with the new eating rules???...nope. But i am doing my best. I keep telling myself that "slow and steady is better" and that with the workouts i may be replacing fat for muscles and that is a GOOD thing.
  2. sssoo close!!! it is amazing how much your body can retain water. You should let the knee rest, maybe just work your upper body. i have been doing weight and i am so sore that i cant raise my arms, which makes it really complicated when my twin toddlers whant to be picked up...ouch! I am sure you will reach your goal by your Bday! do u have anything special planned? Go check out the Express sale!! wow..you are are going for a size 10...go for it! i am just happy thinking i will be fitting in a size 14 jean in the near future.

hi i notice you have 1 cup of cottage cheese = 8gm of protein. that seems like a little low. I eat the CABOT brand and 1 cup/8oz has 23gm of protein. That is may main BF and it doesnt taste bad at all.
  4. in the morning i have cottage cheese and shaved ham!!i make sure it is atleast 20gm worth. that keeps me full till lunch...my problem sometimes come is in the mid afternnon...i feel so hungry. So i try to stay away from all my favorites ( crackers, sunships, ect) I think the hardest part for me is to not drink water right before, during and after a meal...i love water! good luck to all

funny you should say that. I got my fill on the 21st...expecting that TOM to arrive any second. i am eating mushies for the next few days and right now i feel like a balloon!! no way cold i take off my rings. I only got 1.5 CC, so in total i have 4.5CC... i hope this gets me closer to my "sweet spot". My next fill is no 2 months... my goal is to loose 8lbs by then....trying to keep it real
  6. AAwww... those hugs are so wonderful! my 6 yr daughter has been complimenting me on my 'new' outfits (clothes that i have had in the closet for years and can now fit ). I have lost about 30lbs since this time last year and i am noticing more energy. I ma 4 months out and just got my 2nd fill this week. I is not a easy process...but i say "slow and steady is better"!! Good luck

wow... now i know why i feel like having a nap everyday around 3pm... for the last 5 days i have been craving WheatThins and i have had those for lunch with cottage cheese....and also rice tortilla chips. Bad habbints are so hard to break!!! I have my fill on thurs...hope my craving go away.
  8. hi I am almost 4 months out and having my 2nd fill on the 21. Boy do i need it. I have good days and bad just like you. I have not yet ventured out and tried bread. But i have tried out toast, tortillas. I have had only to episodes where the food (rice) went down fine till i had the 4th bite and BAAMM!! what a nasty feeling. Thankfully the 2 times where in my house. The weight is coming off slowly...and i have to remind myself that "if it took me 10 yesr to gain 100 lbs, i cant expect my body to loose it 1 year" To be honest i am not sticking to the dieat 100% bad habbits die hard. But im hoping that with each fill i will be getting closet to that "sweet spot". Good luck in your journey!! this website is great!

do u know how many CC's you have? when i had my first fill about 6 weeks ago they injected 3CC, i did feel wiered when i was told to drink 2 glasses of water before leaving the office. It felt tight. I was also told to go back to the mushy diet for 2-3 days. right know for me it doesnt feel like a have any restriction. I do get full alot faster -vs- before the band. I have my 2nd fill on thurs, i am hoping this one will get me closer to my sweetspot and the pounds start coming off.
  10. Hi Jeant...i sometimes feel the same way. i got my band at the end of sept and have only lost 26lbs. i have 3 cc right now and i have my 2nd fill this week. I feel a little dissapointed, but i keep reming myself that "slow and steady is better!!!" I do not want to be overfilled and go though the discomfort..i rather be a little conservative about my fills. Good luck and keep you chin up!!!!!
  11. 106 lbs that is fantastic!!! I think you have a great personality and you will be able to handdle your new body...so what if you look at yourself in the mirrow for 10 extra minutes!! you have worked hard for it. Just be prepared for looks of envy from others that is bought to happen. How many CC do you have in your band?I as cuz so far i have 3cc and feel no restriction, unfortunally i can eat one of my favorite food "rice"....that is going to be my vice. My price when i loose 110 lbs is a tummy tuck/ breast lift. i have started to save a little bit. Fisrt i have to reach that point and see how my body looks.. I have only lost 26 lbs and i can already see tummy sagging...that ofcourse is what happens when i was prego with my twins. From the pics you are looking good. I would take time to think about it and to give your body time to catch up and you never know...the loose skin can bounce back !
  12. i recomend Carnation Inst Bk fast and Special K shakes over ice...not chauky at all. I was so bloated the 1st week out...but it also had to do with the swelling inside your stomach area. remember you just had you stomach divided in 2 and the band sewed into place...so that has to do with not feeling hungry. Just be prepared for when the swelling and bloated feeling goes away. hunger comes back...just dont freak out and do what you are told when you get to the mushy stage. I recomment CABOT cottage cheese, it had a lot of protein and calcium and it goes down easy. Good luck!!
  13. i have had problems with protein shakes... i am not a big sweet/milk drinker so i would gag. the ones i can tolerate are Carnation isnt. and special K protein shakes. they have about 10-14 gm per serving but they are not to sweet or chauky. must having over ice! My # 1 protein sourse is CABOT cottage cheese. 1/2 cup of it has 13gm.. so i usually eat it 3 times a day and get over 35gm of protein. Im happy with that. good luck and take it easy!
  14. Jeans that fit... i finally am feeling that! i dont like how people tell me that if you loose 10lbs that is a pant size smaller. For me its more like every 18-20 lbs. I am also hoping that next tiem i get on a plane i will not have to endure the small seats! I have my 2nd fill this week..but i only have 3cc and had had no restriction and have lost very little weight in the last 5 weeks. so hopefully that will change. I will take you recomendations next time i go out to dinner.... my husband knows that if i touch my chest 2 times it means that i am having problems and i need to get up and walk it off...no words necessary

dont look a the size!!!! look at how good it fits you! i had that same experiance and i have only lost 26lbs. i am trying hard not to go out an buy clothes since they r on sale. But what i will do is look for stuff i like and put on the size that looks the best on my body at the time. Brand names differ so much...i swear some of them should not make Plus sizes cuz i dont think they have a clue about a "real " womans body. You are doing great... cant wait to see the new recent pics.
  16. really? My nutricionist thinks it great i have added pork tenderloin and 93% grouned beef to my meal plans. since it is so lean and so high in protein. I would find it hard to give it up since i still have to cook full meals for my family. I also gave up caffeine ( dieat coke)for the first 3 months. But i was noticing that everyday around 2pm i was feeling very tired and could fall asleep. So i decided to find a vitamin that supplied some caffeine. I break it in half and take half in the Am and half in the afternoon. What are you eating to keep up with teh protein requirement?

make the call. I called my Surgeon 2 weeks after because the large insission was painfull and had opened on one side and some stuff was coming out. I felt silly at first but i found out that i was to keep it covered and that slowly but surely it would heal.

Ok so i have been reading up on hair loss in relation to rapid weight changes. It seems that when you have weight loss surgery your body focuses on recovery and healling. This means that whatever protain it is taking in it is using it to heal your affected areas. So the body stops "caring" about hair growth for a while. I also read that the body goes into "shock" from all the changes from surgery and at some point it will recover. Till then, i am eating lots of protein, taking Biotin 1000mg every day and staying away from vitamin A. Also Found out that having to much vitamin A can encourage hair loss... So i think i have been overdosing on it since 4 of my favorite foods have a high amout of it : red peppers, broccoli, carrots and mangos!! i will not stop eating them, but i will make sure i am not eating them all the same day. I have my 2nd fill on thurs.. i will talk to the nutricionist about it. I also plan to get a hair cut, just so that i dont freak out every time i wash my hair  The report i read also said that hair regrowth can take anywhere from 3 months to 12 months!!! hope everyone is doing well!

  20. that is good to know. im having my 2nd fill next week...and i know i need it cuz i am getting hungry every 3 hours . I love drinking water, 8-10 glasses a day is no problem for me but i think it may be a problem with regards to keeping the solid food in my stomach. I dont know, i just hope i can get my eating under control and loose another 25 lbs by the sunner time.
  21. good for you. I started working out 3 times a week in the morning before the kids get up. still havent seen any change...but i know it iwll happen. I want more muscle!!
  22. My husband wants to get me the Wii Fit. I told him i am ok just working out in front of the Tv at 6am with Concast excersis channel...they have so many selections. But now i am hearing alot of good things about the WIi. YOu are doing great.. you are already "normal".. F@*^ the 1/2 lbs Good luck with all that is going on....
  23. hi.. since my surgery i have not eaten bread. i could probably do it...but i am already having to much touble staying away from my munchies( crackers, corn chips..) i can live with out the sweets but never without the salty/spicy food! my biggest probles is cooking for my family and rice.. this is a staple in my house and i just find it very hard to just have a spoonfull of it. because of it i have had to episoded where it got stuck...luckily is did not last long. Good for you that you can go out to eat and reframe from pigging out! I have my 2nd fill next week. I hope with this i will feel full faster and for longer.
