scared

Monday will be three weeks since my surgery. I am starting to freak......I have this weird almost burning kind of pain in my right upper quadrant of my stomach....where the largest incision is. It only hurts to touch or when I sit down and then get up. It is so sore I can barely touch it. When I press around I feel something there....I don't know if it is the port or what I am feeling but I am concerned. I am thinking about calling my doctor but I am not sure...I dont want to seem like a hypochondriac. My incisions are healed so I don't know what this could be???????????????????????????????????

CALL your doctor!

I don't think you should be in pain. Don't think of it as if you acting like a hypocondriac... you just had surgery and need to be sure it is healing properly. You only get one body, and you want to keep it healthy that is why you had the surgery, right... so make sure you are healing properly! Your doctor would want you to call.

make the call. I called my Surgeon 2 weeks after because the large insission was painfull and had opened on one side and some stuff was coming out. I felt silly at first but i found out that i was to keep it covered and that slowly but surely it would heal.

Hello

I have been reading your Blog! I think this is the Port has the wound healed over.. if so then I am sure this is what you are feeling as its on the right the stomach is on the Left hand side..

If you have any concerns call your surgeon or GP not sure where you are USA or UK but do it it will make you feel more in control and stop u worrying.. Good Luck!
