  1. Wow 11 weeks! You are doing so good. This trip will be good for you! I know you are dissapointed about this morning, but this will pass and maybe you needed that rest more!! So have a wonderful flight, it will feel good when you have to "tighten" the belt more! Take a snack along as they don't feed you anymore! LOL Take that back, you'll get three peanuts! Have fun!

  2. Sounds like you are doing great! I never gave a shot, but have a daughter who is an RN so that helps if I needed it! She has been very supportive of me and always praises my WL. You are really on a great journey, it changes daily and you will get use to it. God bless you, keep with the program and you will do fine.

  3. I think you should tell him, and share this with him, letting him know this is your FIRM decision! My husband was about the same way, except he was always there for me but thought I could still "do it" without WLS Yes, just take off 100 lbs, that should be easy~right? Right! If it were that easy I could have done it ten years ago. He was right there with me! He did not encourage or discourage, in fact he was fairly quiet about it, I wrote him a letter and gave it to him as I was being wheeled into surgery! He read it, never mentioned it, nor did I. I told him how much I loved him, admired him, appreciated him. And if anything happened to me adversely in surgery, I had to make this choice for ME so that I could be around for HIM and our children and grandchildren a LOT longer. SINCE the surgery he has seen me drop the weight and is so PROUD of me! He cooks and always cooks what I can have, reminds me to drink my protein shakes etc. He has always been a good husband, just not always supportive in every one of my endeavors. He was a LITTLE afraid I might die in surgery and he would lose me. I think he'd rather have me FAT than not at all. Could be a hidden fear of your DH(Darling Husband) LOL Good Luck and God Bless You as you go forward.

  4. I love your post today! HOW Sweet it is for sure!!! I know the feeling, and I love it. I have about 25-30 lbs more to take off too, we will get it! And I took a trip on a plane to Seattle and had to draw up the seat belt from a previous passenger! SWEET! Wearing cute shoes and High Heels with no pain in my feet, SWEET! This was too the BEST CHOICE for me!

  5. Great story! What a revelation. I loved it! Every two months I was getting rid of clothes. Good thing my daughters and I own a Consignment Store, I could buy, wear, consign and start over again! It was too much fun! I have been stuck in a size 14 and some 12's now for awhile, but purchased some 10's that are hanging in my closet just waiting for me. SOOON Very Soon. Keep havin fun and lovin the band. Our new best friend!

  6. Hello, I was banded one year to the day ahead of you, I still remember how I felt as well, but on the fourth or fifth day I was really on the mend, my scars have all but faded away now. The pain is really coming from gas and in incisions and stitches around the port area, so you should take something for pain, if you cannot take strong meds. Then just pulverize tylenol or some tablet and mix it with water and take it! You are entitled!!! God Bless I am praying for you and wish you a wonderful year of weight loss.

  7. A young woman I knew since she was a little girl, just passed away from Colorectal Cancer. She listed several things she would do differently if she could, she was only in her 20's. One of those things was "Don't always be the one behind the Camera" Photos are memories of snapshots in time, the times of our lives! They do provide a history of the journey of our lives for those who will come to know us through them even after we are gone. I am going to have a session with a photographer in some new clothes very soon for my one year Bandiversary, then one year from now, I will look back on them and hopefully be changed some more for the better. Great Idea, love to see you and read your blogs! Keep them coming.

  8. Ate four Shrimp today at lunch, did not chew one little bite thoroughly and it was about to kill me, the chest pain was aweful! So I went in the bathroom and made myself throw it up! So pure relief was mine. A few minutes later I finished my lunch and it was good. But Shrimp is one of the foods I love, but do have trouble with. I think it lumps together in the chanel to the stomach. Maybe next time I will just eat three shrimp.

  9. Welcome Aboard! You are going on the Journey of your life with your new lapband! We are here for you. About to reach my l year Bandiversary, lost about 90-91 lbs, depending on the day! It sounds like a lot to a new person, but stick to the program and you will lose a lot of weight! Congrats.

  10. Congrats! I remember getting into those 18's! It felt wonderful too. I could not let myself believe that I would be in 16's too soon after that and did not get any, then the 18's were falling off of me! Every 10 lbs or so, I was down a size! It was wonderful, went from a 24-26 to 14 regulars! It is the best feeling. God Bless You as you grow smaller! The next 8 weeks will bring lots of joy and blessings!

  11. I agree totally with all your comments, I too paid for my surgery and I would never want to Cheat Myself out of the good it has done for me. I eat sensibly now and If I don't lose I maintain. And I am so happy that I too have a husband that supports me and most of my friends do too! You know what? If you had a good week, the meeting needs you, if you had a bad week you need the meeting! I truly believe this! No matter what you heard, you learned a great deal from it ALL right? And I know you now know what NOT to do! That is what I too learn! God Bless you, just keep up the good work.

  12. Stress releases cortizone into our systems and that causes the stomach to swell and thus tightens the band! I use to stress before each fill and leave not getting enough! I don't like needles period and I would watch the monitor trying not to see. My Dr. made me close my eyes to relax to get the fill! I do know that stress does me the same way. When I have my Mom who is Alzheimers, it stesses me so much because I think about how much longer she will know me and hear her talking about nothing and have to answer her questions over and over about where is she, who is going to stay with her, where is her vehicle, can she drive, she loses everything and I have to hunt for it. Getting her dressed for Church is a task, very slow, we are always late. LOL I love her and want to do it, not complaining, but just to show you, after Church, we go to eat, I take three bites, PAIN, no food and I am so hungry! It is STRESS! I take her back to the Assisted Living, take my food home, eat it, when relaxed, COLD! But this is my life with the Band! Still Love it, still love my Sundays with my Mom!
